The four House Republicans who voted against GOP leadership’s debt ceiling plan are speaking out about why they oppose the bill touted by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) as the United States faces the possibility of an unprecedented default on its obligations this summer.
Reps. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Tim Burchett (R-TN), and Ken Buck (R-CO) joined the vast majority of Democrats in opposing the legislation that would suspend the debt limit until it rises by $1.5 trillion or until March 31, 2024 — whichever comes first — in exchange for a host of spending cuts.

The bill is obviously making the case for more debt since they seek to suspend the debt limit until it reaches 1.5 trillion. That is not a serious bill. No, they should be making the same drastic cuts you and I would have to make if we were in debt and about to go under. FTA, "the United States faces the possibility of an unprecedented default on its obligations this summer." The federal government should be declared bankrupt so it could be restructured.
Per Gaetz, "This plan will increase America’s debt by $16 trillion over the next ten years,” he added. “Gaslighting nearly $50 trillion in debt to America is something my conscious cannot abide at this time.”
Biggs said, "Increasing the national debt to ‘only’ $47 trillion over ten years – an increase of over $14 trillion from today – is misguided and perpetuates Washington’s spending problem.”

We are barreling down the road to financial disaster and the wheels are about to come off the bus. There is no way to stop this colossal collapse because the political class in Washington DC are addicted to other people’s money and they have to keep that fix coming in. They play games with us because they are greedy corrupt people who care nothing about responsible governance. When the collapse comes it will be hard and fast. Following that will be the total breakdown of society as the necessities of life will be scarce and it will become survival of the fittest. Best to put your faith and trust in God before it’s too late because you are going to need a community of like believers to band together to survive. It will be an apocalyptical reality like nothing we have ever seen.

Sadly, that's a good reason. NO MORE unnecessary spending and holding steady on the debt ceiling should have been McCarthy's position. If I were stupid enough as a working homeowner and got into serious debt over frivolous spending, the time to stop spending more is RIGHT NOW. Just because old Sawdust Head promised money to people at risk of toppling this country doesn't mean it must be spent.
Granted, paying off the national debt as soon as possible is not a winning campaign strategy, it's the smart and necessary thing to do. Unfortunately, democrats can not exist except by bribing the parasite class with free stuff and reparations on top of that. We are at war, cut them off now.

Look. No matter what course is taken, i.e., support the bill or not, the Dems and its Press (a monopoly when it comes to news and opinion) will do one thing: Blame the Republicans. If the U.S. defaults on any of the debt payments, the Republicans will be blamed. If the McCarthy bill passes and the reckoning is kicked down the road, the Republicans will be blamed. I do not see a way for them to get in front of this or avoid that result. Any recession or downturn or worse will be similarly blamed on the Republicans.
The Dems and their lapdog Press know this, they want their power increased in 2024 and this is part of their strategy.

So let's continue with the ethanol subsidies which if the Biden Regime has their way, we won't need them with all our EVs, but gotta keep the cornfed folks of Iowa happy. Can even one federal program be defunded? Just one? Like, oh I don't know - Planned Parenthood - not a program but they get plenty of US tax dollars. How about defunding PBS/CPB? It's not the 1960s so no need for this relic (of propaganda) anymore. Not one agency is having its budget reduced - not on, but they'll keep getting increases - just capped at 1% - big whoop. And of course, NIH and NIAID should be on the cutting block. I could go on.
Oh well, guess I'll go and max out my credit cards, stop paying my mortgage, etc and the feds will take care of me. Oh wait - white person who voted for Trump twice. No, I'll be taxed even more to pay for all the illegal aliens, deadbeat blacks and Hispanics shoved into buying houses they cannot afford.

McCarthy includes a concession of increasing the debt by $1.5 Trillion, then says he knows the bill will have to be amended to pass the Congress. So why would you include such a huge concession in a bill that McCarthy admits is only a negotiating bill? That is very poor negotiating, to concede before any negotiations have even begun. The Democrats have conceded nothing, demanding a clean increase in the debt ceiling. Will the Republicans ever do anything other than shoot themselves in the foot?

Don't worry. This debt ceiling stuff is another distraction.
When the house of Rothschild takes over and gives the Federal Reserve and congress their marching orders to launch the Central Bank Digital Currency in America (aka the digital dollar), the debt will be erased like it never happened. The catch? Our federal government and we will be told how much can be spent, when, on what, and where. All you will have to do is behave or else your social credit score will take a hit. And guess what happens when your social credit score takes a hit. You will not be able to buy {fill in the blank}.

Democrats are always in lockstep and vote together regardless of how bad the bill is. Republicans tend to be harder to corral. I don’t fault those that voted against the bill if they thought it was harmful for the country. They’re right.

Politics is the art of the possible. Kevin McCarthy is a much better Speaker than I expected. If Republicans hold on to 1.5 Trillion and 1% annual increases it will be a good step forward. There is a plan on the table and the Marxist freeloaders will have to respond. The Democrats stole the presidential and Senate elections so they hold 2/3 of the power.

Actually it does not matter what is in the bill. Joe will just do what Obama did and sign the checks himself because Obama taught him how it's done. 20 long, corrupt months to go.

Four defectors during a war? Or four conscientious objectors? The outcome: A quartet singing ''I Did It My Way.''

Somebody met their prices, and those 4 are not ever to be trusted again. I have no use for anyone in congress who votes against common sense of not raising the debt ceiling or funding all those IRS agents.
