King Charles III made his Coronation oath on the Holy Bible before being anointed with sacred oil blessed in Jerusalem at the service at the ancient Westminster Abbey in London on Saturday morning.
“God of compassion and mercy whose Son was sent not to be served but to serve, give grace that I may find in thy service perfect freedom and in that freedom knowledge of thy truth.”, said King Charles III of the United Kingdom at the altar of Westminster Abbey on Saturday. Moments before, he had sworn his Coronation oath on the Holy Bible.

Watched on NewsMax and was saddened to hear that only 4% of Brits attend church and out of the 4%, 87% are 60 or over.

A sad relic of a bygone era.......happily the number of kings is diminishing....unfortunately, replaced by power mad dictators

It was an excellent event! You just can't beat the British for pomp and pageantry!

I watched on the BBC, much better. King Charles looks worse now than his Mum, when she passed last year.

William and Kate are taking note.
How will we honor Diana?

Charles wanted to have Muslim and Hindu prayers offered at the Abbey, but that was too much for even for the weak kneed Church of England bishops, and they said no way. Elizabeth was the last Christian monarch of England. It will be an Islamic republic in 30 years.

A rare instance these days of public obeisance to God. I wonder if any woke nut jobs who happened to witness this ardently religious event were so triggered they had to take to their beds.
As to the weird asides about Diana in the comments, she would have been crowned Queen of England had she not foolishly sought love at the expense of duty. Harking to the middle class advice dispensed by her meddlesome friends doomed her.

Diana is honored every day of her son William’s life. He is her. Looks like her. And he will be king. As for those who don’t recall what broke up Charles's and Diana’s marriage, it most certainly was not “her meddlesome friends”.

As for Charles and his consort, they both look aged. I don’t believe William has a long wait.

Wm and Kate have indeed already acknowledged Diana. They named their second daughter, Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.

I think #12 was tongue in cheek.

Charles and Diana never belonged together. He wanted to marry Camilla but was not permitted to by the Queen. Fortunately, they learned their lesson with William and allowed him to marry the love of his life despite the fact that she was a "commoner". (Although there is certainly nothing common about Kate!)
The Queen should have refused Harry's request to marry Meghan. They would all have been better off, including Harry!
The love between King Charles and Camilla is evident to anyone paying attention, and she has made him a better person. I was so happy to watch the beautiful ceremony today. The Brits are great at Pomp and Ceremony.
God Save the King...although I can't stand his position on the environment. Maybe God can help with that...

#19, as I understand it, Camilla wanted to marry Charles but he played the field for too long and she got tired of waiting around and married someone else instead. Then the two of them started an affair which pre-dated Diana and then continued after their marriage. Camilla was Chuckie’s mistress - which is one reason that she’s so unpopular with the Brits.

OK, but I don't care.

Brits are in a post Christian period in their nation, problem being that they see the hypocrisy of the British churches and it offends them. Charles had his fingers crossed the day he wed Diana, even to the point of letting the Rottweiler come to his wedding. He couldn't even give Diana her day as a bride. So how can the world expect this self absorbed, mental infant to keep the vows he made again before God? Those two have to realize God is watching, but I would guess they do not care.
