Welcome to Post-Settlement Fox News

The fact that Tucker Carlson’s program is ending so abruptly — no farewell show, no final chance to thank the viewers for tuning in, night after night – is an indication that this was not such an amiable separation and that Fox News did not trust their highest-rated host to appear on-air, even for one last time. (Snip) It is unlikely that networks like Fox News can afford to keep loose-cannon hosts anymore.

Comments:

This is the GOPe's take on the Carlson firing from on high. Tucker was just a "loose cannon" who obviously had to go.

This is the GOP establishment point of view. Don’t rock the boat lest the liberals come after you. Nowhere does Geraghty mention that Tucker had 3+ million viewers and was the most popular cable show on earth. That means nothing to National Review but they aren’t going to pay the price. Fox News will.

After reading this, I would advise Gutfeld to keep his Big Mouth shut or he will be next. Apparently, FOX has decided no matter How Big someone is, they're never Too Big to lose their Job! Jesse might also be careful or he could be next! Kind of makes me wonder if there is any reason to tune in to FOX anymore if they're cleaning house of my favorite people there!

If Tucker's firing had anything to do with his emails where he was supposedly bad-mouthing his employer and some of his colleagues, just a reminder that the "e" in "emails" stands for "eternal". Delete them all you want but they are still recoverable anytime anywhere.

Now, I have NO REASON to waste a minute of my life watching them.I have been pleased at what I found on Newsmax during the past few years and I hope Tucker lands there.

Trump was right after all in going after Fox News. With Tucker gone, and with the possible firings of other commentary people, Fox will be so watered down that it will be the next CNN. Rupert Murdoch has shown himself to be a megalomaniac like Putin, Xi, and even Hitler. Get woke, go broke will hold true for Fox like for everybody else. Commenter No.3 nails it.

It's clear now why Tuckers Jan6 revelations were so disappointing. They strangled it. It was either kowtow, or have his show preempted for those episodes. That's my suspicion, fwiw. I'll bet there's a nondisclosure agreement somewhere. It would be nice if some anonymous were to leak more details.

Tucker is not the loose cannon. The loose cannons are in Congress and the WH, aided and abetted by their willing accomplices scattered throughout the media. Fox hit the iceberg with this move. The Five and Gutfeld are the only shows worth watching and they'll be corralled too...you watch.

Stanford University's Black Law Students Association will no longer help the university recruit black students after the law school's dean, Jenny Martinez, apologized in early March to Fifth Circuit appellate judge Kyle Duncan. The students cited what they described as the "scapegoating" of the school's diversity dean, Tirien Steinbach, for an incident last month in which students disrupted Duncan's remarks and Steinbach egged them on. A sizable majority of likely voters believe that the Capitol riot of Jan. 6, 2021, was provoked by government agents secretly operating in the crowds, a stunning rejection of the blame that Justice Department prosecutors and a special House panel have put squarely on the head of former President Donald Trump. While many had suspicions of undercover agents fanning anger in the crowd about Trump’s electoral loss to President Joe Biden, the airing of never-before-seen videos by Fox’s Tucker Carlson jumped that number to 65% in the latest Rasmussen Reports survey.

Documents reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon show a private company’s unprecedented effort to inject DEI into classrooms. In January 2020, Walmart approached public school administrators in Bentonville, Arkansas, about hosting diversity training sessions for the district. "We want people to feel welcomed, comfortable, and safe living here" in Northwest Arkansas, Candice Jones, Walmart’s head of diversity, emailed district leaders, according to documents obtained by the Washington Free Beacon. To that end, the company was offering to arrange teacher training sessions with a North Carolina-based consultancy known as the Racial Equity Institute, a group "devoted to creating racially equitable organizations and systems."

The Czech novelist Milan Kundera published The Joke, his first novel, in 1967. It traces the fortunes of Ludvik, a young student, after his politically correct girlfriend shows the Communist authorities a postcard he had written to her as a joke: “Optimism is the opium of the people! A healthy atmosphere stinks of stupidity! Long live Trotsky! Ludvik.” As a result of this whimsy, Ludvik finds himself expelled from the Communist Party, the university, and is eventually conscripted to work in the mines. That’s the way things are in totalitarian societies. No jokes allowed, especially not jokes told at the expense of the regime.
