Sad Trombone: NYT Calls Out WH for Hiding
Biden from the News Media

In a nearly 1,800-word piece posted Thursday afternoon at The New York Times website (but buried on A-16 of Saturday’s print edition), longtime White House reporter Michael Shear blasted the Biden administration for having “protect[ed]” the President through his first two years in office with only 54 interviews and the fewest press conferences in his first two years since Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan (who, as Shear would only note until paragraph 29 that Reagan’s count was due to him being shot). Shear’s piece was likely at least partially inspired what’s been the occasional missile at a White House press briefing over the last two-plus years

Here's a plan - decree a "Take Your Daughters to Work" day for the WH press corp. If any has daughters aged 12 or younger they are invited to the press conference. Then watch Resident biden scamper to the podium faster than a thirsty dog to a bowl of water. Once he's at the podium escort all children immediately out of the room to safety.

Tucker Carlson's wife was spotted out for a walk with her dogs a day after the bombshell news that her husband was booted from Fox News after 14 years on-air. Susan Andrews Carlson, 53, was seen wearing a pink and white bandeau top with a white and blue striped towel wrapped tightly around her waist on Tuesday. She protected her skin by wearing a large floppy hat as she walked her dogs on the beach by their multi-million-dollar Florida home. The mother-of-four was accompanied by a friend as the two appeared to be in conversation as they traversed the sandy beach.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and other top House Republicans raced Tuesday to lock down votes for a legislative package that would raise the debt ceiling while cutting spending that they believe will strengthen their negotiating position with Democrats as a standoff looms later this year. McCarthy hosted GOP members in the speaker’s office all day Tuesday as tense talks continued between leadership and some members from different factions who remain noncommittal on or opposed to the bill, called the Limit, Save, Grow Act of 2023.

William Donohue of the Catholic League pointed out the Tuesday New York Times demonstrated an obvious labeling contrast. On page A1 came the headlined "Fox News Ousts Carlson, a Voice Of the Far Right." But on B-1, there was no label in the header "Lemon Out At CNN; He Says He Is ‘Stunned’. " In the piece by Michael Grynbaum, John Koblin, and Benjamin Mullin, Lemon was only "fiery" and "spiky," not liberal or far-left: One of CNN’s most recognizable stars, Mr. Lemon had a reputation as a fiery political commentator during his eight years as a prime-time anchor...

Republican Reps. Patrick McHenry and Warren Davidson sent a letter on Tuesday promising action if the Biden administration did not reverse changes that increase mortgage costs for homeowners with good credit to offset those who have riskier credit. Financial Services Chair McHenry, R-N.C., and Housing and Insurance subcommittee chair Davidson, R-Ohio, said they would move to repeal the new provision through legislation if the Federal Housing Finance Agency did not move to do so itself. 'It's a socialist redistribution of wealth,' said Davidson in a statement. 'If the FHFA doesn't reverse this rule, Congress must.'

LEMOORE, Calif.—Ron Caetano is packed and ready to go. His family photos and valuables are in the trailer and he’s put food in carry totes. He moved the rabbits and chickens and their automatic feeders to higher ground. He and his family and dogs could get out in less than an hour, they figure, should more heavy rain or hot weather melt so much mountain snow that gushing water overwhelms the rivers and channel that surround their tight-knit, rural Central California community and give it its name, the Island District. “The water is coming this way,” said Caetano, who started a Facebook group to help organize his neighbors.

President Joe Biden, now 80 years old and running for reelection, suggested during his 1972 U.S. Senate race that his 63-year-old opponent was too old to serve. When he ran against incumbent Sen. Cale Boggs (R-DE), a former two-term governor, in 1972, Biden, a local councilman in Delaware at 29 years old, used his opponent’s age to criticize him on multiple occasions, CNN first reported.“Cale doesn’t want to run, he’s lost that old twinkle in his eye he used to have,” Biden said of his opponent in 1972. The then-councilman used the senator’s age enough times that a reporter eventually labeled the tactic “Dear old dad.”

Early on Tuesday morning, President Joe Biden launched his 2024 re-election bid via a three-minute video posted across social media. Like his gaffe-filled presidential speeches, the campaign clip is riddled with false claims about Biden's political opponents."Freedom" is the video's title and the very first word uttered by Biden, flashing on the screen, about 10 seconds in. "Personal freedom is fundamental to who we are as Americans. There's nothing more important. Nothing more sacred," Biden's booming voice-over narrated.

"We will do it prior to May 11, to declare a state of emergency, for the main reason being we want to make sure we have schools prepared and ready to go, the civic center ready to go and it's going to be very important that we are prepared strictly for temporary housing," said Leeser. Deputy City Manager Mario D'Agostino said there is a possibility that 35,000 migrants could cross the U.S.-Mexico border.

NEW YORK—A former advice columnist’s nearly 30-year-old rape claim against Donald Trump went to trial Tuesday as jurors in the federal civil case heard her allegation of being attacked in a luxury department store dressing room. The former president says nothing happened between them. E. Jean Carroll will testify that what unfolded in a few minutes in a fitting room in 1996 “would change her life forever,” one of her lawyers, Shawn Crowley, said in an opening statement. “Filled with fear and shame, she kept silent for decades. Eventually, though, silence became impossible,” Crowley said. And when Carroll broke that silence in a 2019 memoir, the then-president “used the most powerful platform

The fact that Tucker Carlson’s program is ending so abruptly — no farewell show, no final chance to thank the viewers for tuning in, night after night – is an indication that this was not such an amiable separation and that Fox News did not trust their highest-rated host to appear on-air, even for one last time. (Snip) It is unlikely that networks like Fox News can afford to keep loose-cannon hosts anymore.

President Biden announced his reelection bid Tuesday morning, making “freedom” the focus of his announcement video. “When I ran for president four years ago, I said we’re in the battle for the soul of America. And we still are,” Biden says in the three-minute video. “The question we’re facing is whether in the years ahead we have more freedom or less freedom. More rights or fewer rights. I know what I want the answer to be, and I think you do, too. This is not a time to be complacent. That’s why I’m running for re-election."

PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland is about to be one of the first cities in the U.S. with blocks dedicated as a zero-emission delivery zone, thanks to a $2 million grant the city received. The Portland Bureau of Transportation announced Tuesday that the money will support creating a 16-block area in downtown where all deliveries must be made using zero-emission vehicles. These vehicles can include electric vans and trucks, cargo bikes or hydrogen-fueled vehicles. The goal is to reduce traffic from heavy trucks in the downtown area. According to PBOT, the pilot program of the zero-emission delivery zone will be located near

Washington governor Jay Inslee signed three gun control bills on Tuesday, including a ban on AR-15s and dozens of other semiautomatic rifles. The new measures will go into effect immediately. In addition to the semiautomatic rifle ban, a ten-day waiting period for all gun purchases will be instituted. There is also a measure to enable the state attorney general or private citizens to sue gun manufacturers and dealers under public-nuisance laws if they negligently allow their guns to be sold to minors or straw purchasers, the Seattle Times reported. “These weapons of war, assault weapons, have no reason other than mass murder,” Inslee said at the signing ceremony.

Hospitals should be places you can trust to provide comfort and healing when you’re most vulnerable. But that trust may have been shattered by brutal Covid protocols that critics claim turned many hospitals into hellscapes of systematic medical murder. The victims’ stories have been muffled by the mainstream media, but they’re starting to break through. For one thing, lawsuits against three hospitals have been filed in California by 14 bereaved families who claim their loved ones were killed by a deadly protocol. Meanwhile, activist organizations like Protocol Kills, the FormerFedsGroup Freedom Foundation, and American Frontline Nurses are collecting and documenting stories

Joe Biden officially announced his 2024 re-election campaign for president in a video posted to Twitter this morning. Kamala Harris remains his running mate for some reason as well. The man is completely shot mentally and almost certainly has dementia. He will be 86 years old at the end of his second term if he is reelected (assuming he lives that long). 70% of Americans, including a majority of Democrats, did not ask for this. Yet Slow Joe is plowing ahead anyway.
