House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and other top House Republicans raced Tuesday to lock down votes for a legislative package that would raise the debt ceiling while cutting spending that they believe will strengthen their negotiating position with Democrats as a standoff looms later this year.
McCarthy hosted GOP members in the speaker’s office all day Tuesday as tense talks continued between leadership and some members from different factions who remain noncommittal on or opposed to the bill, called the Limit, Save, Grow Act of 2023.

Democrats and Republicans got us in this trillions of dollars debt crisis by continually voting for some "Have To Please This Group So I Can Keep My Job" bill (and it is always referred to as a "spending" bill rather than a "borrowing" bill, as if we had any money in the bank to spend) behave like irresponsible teenagers who were given a credit card and use it to buy junk to please themselves without any concern for whom is going to pay the bill, or whether the limit can be raised AGAIN on the credit card, Responsible Republicans are proposing this bill called "Limit, Save, Grow Act of 2023, and any of those in both houses who do not want the lenders (whomever they are) coming after the borrowers (us) should vote for this bill.
It is obvious that the person who named this bill knows best how we can get out of the fiscal crisis we are in.
Limit - Save - Grow

How many times have we seen this show? Dems eventually agree to raise the debt ceiling if spending cuts are included (which makes no sense on the face of it to begin with) and then the spending increases and the cuts never happen. Why should we believe it would be any different this time around?

I'm thinking that Pedo Joe will be the one to blink as default on payments grows closer. KJP is attempting to blame the crisis on the republicans even though Joe signed the hundreds of EOs that authorized the frivolous spending spree. Democrat politics as usual.

Out the Reps who won't vote for this! Let the People dealwith them. Negotitations are essential until Conservatives have a majority and can really balance the budget. Notice I did not say Republican. I've left the Republican Party and now identify as a Conservative Independent Libertarian!

I would propose voting on a piecemeal budget. Vote a military spending package by itself, then Social Security benefits by itself, essential government services (FAA) by itself, and so forth. And if the DemoRATS oppose or Dementia Joe vetoes, call them out on it.

So as I understand it, this bill raises the debt limit so spending can increase but at the same time lowers the debt by cutting spending. huh? Am I getting this wrong somehow? Feels like rhino poop, smells like rhino poop, and tastes like rhino poop - Mental Light Bulb pops on - It is the usual rhino republican surrender monkey poop.
Not a peep out of Big Wind Jordan and rest of the so-call warrior Freedom Caucus while McCarthy shows his deep down Uni-Party roots.

If the Republicans don't take a stand on the rising debt, it will be the end of the party.
For years, we have been told they were not for raising taxes, or making government better and more efficient by making it smaller, and yet TIME AFTER TIME they repudiate the very campaign promises they run on--
This is a defining moment for the Republican elected officials in DC.
Let's all pray they don't blow it this time, because it may very well be Custer's Last Stand for them!!!
