On Friday’s broadcast of Newsmax TV’s “The Record,” journalist Matt Taibbi stated that the lack of mainstream media coverage of the “massive story of national consequence” of former acting CIA Director Michael Morell’s role in the letter claiming that the Hunter Biden laptop story was Russian misinformation is an example of how “we’re starting to come to” the “same situation” as in the Soviet Union where “nobody read the newspapers because it was all lies and there was no real news in [them].” Taibbi said, “There [are] a couple of things about that that are remarkable: Number one, scan the pages of mainstream news coverage today, and you will not see

The News? It's the Views now. At the start of every hour maybe a repoprt on the latest wreck or major storm then its off to the political Speculation Panels. The only exception is a "Mass" shooting event where hours are squandered speculating about that to urge gun control on the law abiding.

When I served in the military, Uncle Sam sent me to the Defense Language Institute to learn Russian. Most of the instructors were native speakers who had escaped from the Soviet Union. They used to comment that in the USSR there were two government newspapers - Izvestia (The News) and Pravda (The Truth). The old joke was that there was no Pravda in Izvestia and no Izvestia in Pravda.

The media assault on Trump, coupled with the phony elections we now have, demonstrates that our democracy has been blotted out by tyranny.

A pair of students from Michigan are taking legal action against their school district because they were not allowed to wear sweatshirts to class with the political phrase “Let’s Go Brandon” printed on them. The middle school students claim that they have the right to protest against the President of the United States. However, the school district argues that the sweatshirts are indecent and that they have the authority to ban such material.

The U.S. economy expanded at a sluggish 1.1 percent annual pace in the first three months of the year despite strong consumer spending. Wall Street analysts had expected a two percent increase in gross domestic product after the economy grew 2.6 percent in the final three months of last year. Consumer spending remained very strong, rising 3.7 percent in the January through March period. The weakness came from business investment and inventories, perhaps suggesting that businesses expected a weaker level of consumer spending.

The four House Republicans who voted against GOP leadership’s debt ceiling plan are speaking out about why they oppose the bill touted by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) as the United States faces the possibility of an unprecedented default on its obligations this summer. Reps. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Tim Burchett (R-TN), and Ken Buck (R-CO) joined the vast majority of Democrats in opposing the legislation that would suspend the debt limit until it rises by $1.5 trillion or until March 31, 2024 — whichever comes first — in exchange for a host of spending cuts.

Fox “parting ways” with Tucker Carlson was an insane move by any standards of business, given how popular his show was on the network. As we noted, it didn’t seem to have affected Carlson’s mood, as he seemed to be having a good time with his wife down in Florida. He also put out a video on Twitter. While he didn’t talk specifically about the “parting of the ways,” I think he was making it clear that he wasn’t going to be silenced. But it is affecting Fox. WASHINGTON—She swaggered, she jabbed, she inspired. She even joked. Anyone looking for a glimpse of what Vice President Kamala Harris could bring to the campaign trail would have found it this week at Howard University, where she headlined a rally for reproductive rights. After two years of tightly scripted, uneven performances that often dismayed Democrats and cheered Republicans, Harris is looser, more forceful and more willing to speak off the cuff following her trip to Africa a month ago. “That is the vice president that America is going to get a chance to get to know for the first time,” said Laphonza Butler, a former adviser to Harris who leads EMILY’s List.

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors voted Tuesday to end a boycott of 30 states that passed conservatives laws after the rule proved costly and ineffective. The board voted 7-4 to repeal a 2016 law that prohibited city employees from traveling to or doing business with companies in states that passed conservative laws. The board of supervisors first enacted the law in an effort to punish states that had enacted what it viewed as restrictions on LGBT rights after the Supreme Court’s decision in Obergefell v. Hodges legalized same-sex marriage nationwide. Since 2015, the board had amended the law to include states that, in its view

Biden’s grandfather died in September 1941 in Baltimore, according to the Baltimore Sun.
