It looks like actions might have consequences in the matter of Anheuser-Busch and its partnership with Dylan Mulvaney. (snip) But now, it looks like Heinerscheid might be suffering some consequences, too. AdAge is reporting that the marketing VP has taken a “leave of absence” and has been replaced by Todd Allen, who has been the global marketing VP for Budweiser. (snip) According to a statement from City Distributors, a Topeka, Kans.-based Anheuser-Busich distributor, the custom can decision “circumvented the proper approval channels.” Now, is that a permanent “leave of absence”? It’s hard to know, but when they replace you, it sure sounds like you might not be coming back.

These companies need to be more careful about who they hire for marketing and Human Resources departments. A good rule of thumb would be not to hire anyone from an Ivy League university as they are likely to be an out of touch social Justice warrior. And I think I read somewhere that this bimbo was living in a 6 million dollar penthouse overlooking Central Park. There is no reason to pay a marketing executive that kind of money.

When I worked for a large corporation all commercials were viewed and approved by upper management including the president of the company before it was released (and before the company paid the advertising company millions of dollars for their services). Seems strange that a company would entrust their revenue and reputation to an underling like frat girl without their okay and input. Does top management do anything anymore besides collecting large paychecks and sitting on boards of other companies to put even more money in their pockets?

Two high-profile Republicans who have probed the Biden family scandal are calling on Secretary of State Antony Blinken to resign or face impeachment over allegations he helped orchestrate an intelligence community letter during the 2020 election that falsely portrayed Hunter Biden's laptop contents as Russian disinformation. The rebukes of Blinken by Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) and Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wisc.) came after the release Thursday night of testimony from former CIA chief Michael Morell that Blinken had asked him to organize the now-infamous October 2020 letter to benefit the Biden campaign.

A former acting CIA director has admitted to Congress that he organized the letter that falsely portrayed Hunter Biden's laptop as Russian disinformation in an effort to influence the 2020 election in favor of Joe Biden and that he did so at the direction of current Secretary of State Antony Blinken, according to a letter released Thursday by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan. The extraordinary admission by career intelligence officer Michael J. Morell provides stunning evidence that the now-infamous letter from 51 security officials in October 2021 was not an organic intelligence community initiative but rather a political dirty trick originating with Blinken and the Biden campaign.

If I were still teaching at Harvard Business School, I’d already be putting together material for a case study on the Bud Light marketing disaster, and I am reasonably sure that I would have plenty of company at HBS and elsewhere. The fiasco is already of historic proportions, joining New Coke as an example of failing to understand the customers of a brand. But, as with any good case study, there are layers and layers of analysis possible, and the initial hypotheses of who and what went wrong may yield to alternative views once more information is considered.
