According to NBC News, team members for Ron DeSantis have reached out to six different Florida Republicans in an attempt to prevent them from endorsing President Trump in the GOP primary. This comes after a flurry of prominent Florida congress members have thrown their support behind the former President. In the past 6 weeks, Trump has scored endorsements from Matt Gaetz, Anna Paulina Luna, Cory Mills and Byron Donalds. However, insiders have said that the Donalds endorsement specifically was the straw that broke the camels back, and now it appears that DeSantis staffers are trying to prevent a domino effect.

Police in Portland spent this past week clearing out a vacant shopping center in the city's deserted downtown in what was described as a scene from the dystopian HBO show The Last of Us.
The building had been turned into an open-air drug market.

Sam Brinton, the embattled former senior Department of Energy (DOE) official, was able to escape jail time earlier this week in a grand larceny case dating back to July 2022.
According to Clark County, Nevada, criminal court records, Brinton was ordered to pay $3,670.74 to the victim in the case and $500 in additional fees including a criminal fine. Clark County Judge Ann Zimmerman then handed Brinton a 180-day suspended jail sentence, a sentence that doesn't need to be served, and ordered Brinton to "stay out of trouble."
Zimmerman also determined Brinton was guilty of theft of an item with the value less than $1,200.
