As the controversy continues over Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg‘s politically motivated indictment of former President Donald Trump in a case that no sane prosecutor would bring against anyone not named Donald Trump, House Republicans are about to introduce multiple bills that would restrict state and local prosecutors from prosecuting current or former presidents.
Any such cases could instead be moved to federal court, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan told Just the News on Thursday. Jordan said the lead bill would give current and former presidents the option to change venues.
The lead bill is slated to be introduced early next week at the latest. Jordan explained its significance:

I would prefer to see severe consequences for frivolous or unfounded prosecutions. Biden, Obama, and Clinton should not get a pass.

And who, exactly, is going to sign that into law? Waste of time as the J6 prisoners rot in jail.

Nice idea, but totally futile since neither the Senate or the President will support it.

Sounds good, because it would have protected Trump. But we don't need federal officials, president or otherwise, to be special citizens, only answerable to Federal courts, which are controlled by the elite. Basically it begins officially making it so our elite aristocracy can only be tried in their own courts. How about making it illegal, and punishable with jail time, for a prosecutor to arrest and try *anyone* for purely political reasons...

Does this mean a president can start WW 3 without congress approval. Send our sons and daughters off to fight a bloody war, exposing us to nuclear retaliation and he won’t be held accountable?

What? And not be able to prosecute ex-presidents and ex-residents who are actually guilty of things they should be punished for? Typical Republican backward thinking.

Never give a traitor a legal excuse to avoid prosecution after serving as POTUS.
This is a bad idea.

No, No, NO! We know Obama is guilty of at least taking foreign money by the billions. Further looking might be a gold mine. Not sure what Bush did that was wrong, except for the Patriot Act but I guess you can't be sued for that, even though it takes away our God given rights. But I bet if you were looking hard enough, you could find something. Papa Bush - if you looked close enough, you could probably get him on participating in JFK's murder. If the goobers pass that bill, they take away the opportunity to do anything about any presidential wrong doing. This issue is only brought up because it is PDJT. I have seen it written that if it were anyone else, nothing would be going on.

I missed the worst one of all. With Diapers, Joe Efn Biden, the sky is the limit. Hope you have lots of time to dig into his wrong doing. Oh wait! They already are but nothing is being done.

Who thought of this dilly? No, no, no as a previous poster said! There are crooks (former presidents) still waiting to be indicted such as Obama who has become a multi-millionaire and Clinton's pay for play scheme racket known as The Clinton Foundation.

Strong letter to follow by republicans. This is once again meaningless Kabuki Theatre by Big Wind Jordan. Not a chance in Hades that this bill would ever be enacted by Congress and signed by Full Depends Joe.

As nearly everyone before this post realizes, this is a really bad idea. Not only is it 'locking the barn door after the horse is stolen', it also tells our future rulers (all of whom will be Democrats, because the House is NOT addressing crooked elections) that they can do whatever they want, with impunity.
As usual the GOP earns it's nickname of 'The Stupid POarty'

there are a handful of states through the south-mid west that still provide for citizen petitions to convene a grand jury for a criminal case.
there are requirements to be met....{such as organising a signature drive of voter age citizens perhaps}.
afaik, it has been used to demand removal of cemented - in corruptocrats --to be prosecuted by the county DA.
montana and new mexico come to mind. well, david clements should be known on these boards as the maestro of nm law.
he worked hard for PDT; and i cannot help thinking that state actually went for PDT, minus the vote fraud and scheming carried out by
peloozobummers to force nm into the blue column.
