Washington - The Supreme Court on Thursday denied West Virginia's request to let it fully enforce a state law that bans transgender women and girls from participating on public school sports teams consistent with their gender identity.
In an unsigned order, the court denied West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey's emergency request to let the state enforce the 2021 law. Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas dissented, saying they would have granted the request.
Earlier this year, a lower federal court ordered the state to temporarily stop halt the ban against Becky Pepper-Jackson, a 12-year-old transgender girl who sued the state over the law shortly after its passage.

Like other sports, track and filed cracked down on those who were doping because it created an unfair advantage. Allowing trans to compete in female track is also unfair for the same reason.

"ordered the state to temporarily stop halt the ban against Becky Pepper-Jackson"
Much less controversial than ordering them to start halt the ban, but easier than trying to stop proceed it.
How can we expect CNN to be consistent with reality, when they have demonstrated a difficulty just having coherent grammar?

Had the legislature not played grandstand politics, and let the state high school athletics commission handle this, it is unlikely this would be in courts. And now those expecting “justice” will get a decision.

When all you have is "law" but no "justice"...bad things happen. We are now a third world banana republic. Bad things ARE happening. Worse things WILL happen. Just sayin'.

This law should be prefectly legal, there is absolutely NO "constitutional right" for men to play women's sports.

A 12 year old boy that's pretending to be a girl. Doesn't that scream mental illness ? The Supreme Court does not understand biology.......... remember, justice brown could not define what a woman is.This is sick.

Put a fork in us, we're done. This is reinforced by Bind'em's Title 9 "rules" to ban "the science."

Becky Pepper Jackson sounds like a good name for a puppy.
BTW when are puppies going to be allowed to run in women's track and field events ?
They might not do so good in the pole vault but the cats would kick butt.

Courts are not a place where justice will be served. The people must rise up against leftist depravity. Women are going to have to stand up and refuse to participate in these frauds.

Conservatives need to just start obeying laws and do what makes common sense. Bump the courts; I say do what you want anyway. The left does what they want, while we keep playing fair and obedient.

Think the decision of the court is wrong, but since trans are so special they should compete against each other and let the normal people alone. Trans are just attention getters!

Disagree with the Supreme Court, but since trans are so special they should compete against other trans and not normal people.

I blame the Adults, the Parents'. All of them seem willing to enroll their children in these after school athletics instead of forming an after school Club. We have all sorts of athletic clubs in our city.: tennis clubs, baseball and softball clubs, soccer, motor cross clubs. horse clubs. It seems like they would rather complain than do what needs to be done. Maybe I don't understand but athletic Clubs do exist that don't have these problems.
Perhaps a Parent can explain this to me because I didn't have this problem as a kid or a Parent.

This is not a SCOTUS endorsement of so-called trans rights. The Court is declining to insert itself into ongoing litigation. It remains to be seen how that litigation will play out or what might come before SCOTUS down the road.
