Chicago (WLS) - Brandon Johnson's win came during a tight race with Paul Vallas.
Just over a third of Chicago's registered voters cast their ballots in the runoff.
With early voting, mail-in ballots, drop boxes and extended voting hours, voting as never been easier and more accessible in Chicago, yet, only 35% of city residents voted in Tuesday's runoff election.(Snip)Back in the height of the Harold Washington days, turnout was close to 80%. It was a time when day-of voting was almost the only option.

Like NYC (23% turnout), a minority of Chicago voters pick their mayors. The rest get to go along for the ride.

Gee, that means the Democrat vote stealers/ballot harvesters missed 65% of the ballots they could have faked. Well, really probably 165% because they could have requested multiple ballots for those voters anyway.
The "game" is now ballots, not voters. You don't need voters, you just need their ballots. however you can get them. It's nice if the voter actually fills out their ballot, but not mandatory. There's always a pen lying around here somewhere. And with drop boxes, you don't even need to spend 63 cents on a stamp!

The low turnout in Chicago is inexplicable. The candidates bombarded voters with ads, mailers, signs everywhere. Vallas should have won, given the bad state of the City but Johnson got out the vote in in the black areas and among the teachers' union (and with their help). Neither campaign focused much on Hispanics, who are a 1/3 of the City residents and typically have low turnout. That was obviously a mistake by Vallas who tried instead to make inroads in the black vote, a hopeless task. Now we are stuck with another amateur who is actually worse than LIghtfoot in his policies towards public safety, taxes and retaining businesses.

As people become more convinced that the elections are fixed, they have less interest in voting. Ultimately, the potential voters understood that all that would happen if they voted against the establishment's chosen candidate was that the establishment would manufacture more fake votes for their candidate.

But 65% of the residents in the city's cemeteries voted, so what's the problem?

I have heard that many black voters who were not crazy about Brandon simply stayed home instead of supporting Vallas. This allowed Brandon to run-up huge, lopsided wins in the largely black neighborhoods.

Part of the WEF strategy. Beat you down so that you withdraw. Don't let the BS get you down, fight back and cast your ballot at each election.

I can't imagine NOT voting!
Every effort has been ridiculously expanded to make it so easy to do. The preciousness of the right to choose our representation is nearly lost. In the ludicrous attempt to make voting easier and more convenient, the value of the process and its effects are diminished. Election DAY needs to be one day.

I asked this the other day announcing Johnson's win - how many voted? I have no sympathy for blacks in Chicago who stayed home rather than vote for a white man who had policies that might have actually helped them. Just who are the real racists in this country?

An election, any election, is supposed to be about voting for people that support the policies you want.
What do you do when nobody is supporting your policies? What do you do when the people running are only giving lip service to what you want and simply aren't believable? What do you do when the people calling the shots aren't even the people on the ballot? What do you do when voter fraud overrides election results?
One stops voting. It is a waste of time. This is how representative government dies.

It’s quite understandable since it’s hard to vote and shoot at the same time.

Who would vote, given the choices in this election? If Nobody had been added to the ballot, there would have been a huge turnout.

Time to bring back in person day voting with photo ids. Only absentee ballots will be accepted for a valid reason, and they must be dropped off at the election headquarters. Not some random drop box in the middle of nowhere. Voting is the responsibility of the individual not the local community organizer.

That matters very little in Chicago. You get the government that the Democrat Machine chooses for you. Sometimes it's bad, sometimes it's worse.

There was a contest I saw at the store the other day.
First prize was a fully-paid, week-long vacation to Chicago.
Second prize was two weeks.
