If the other substantive weaknesses in the politically constructed Manhattan case against Donald Trump do not lead to a pre-trial dismissal, this one should collapse it. The Commissioner of the Federal Election Commission (FEC) explicitly states the payments by President Trump to Stormy Daniels are not an election campaign violation.
WASHINGTON DC – A key member of the Federal Election Commission today rejected the Manhattan district attorney’s indictment of former President Donald Trump as a violation of federal election laws.
“It’s not a campaign finance violation. It’s not a reporting violation of any kind,” said FEC Commissioner James E. “Trey” Trainor.

Doesn't matter where the legal bar is set, once indicted, charged and in the corrupt judicial system they will make their own laws where and when required to arrive at the desired conclusion. Andrea Widburg had an excellent article April 5 over at American Thinker about this.

But this is not trial based on established laws. Rather it is the election season opening game of Get Trump, with future games in Atlanta and double headers in DC. Teams are Boca Trump versus the DNC Swampers, with the Swampers not required to play by any rules, norms or ethics. Season runs until November 2024. However, if Boca Trump manages to score more than 277 electoral votes to win, the Swampers will continue to play their bizarre and unconstitutional game in order to undermine the efforts of now White House Trump.
So any attempts to cite previous legal decisions, lack of evidence, lack of an underlying crime will be ignored. The Dems and their worshippers in the MSM play dirty, and that's how they intend to win in 2024.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Citing all these logical and legal reasons this Trump witch hunt is wrong reminds me of Waco, which I know a lot about because I knew Koresh’s lawyer, Dick DeGuerin, who went in and out of the compound throughout the siege.
Dick told me chapter and verse exactly why the government not only did not have to raid the compound to arrest Koresh (they could have gotten him any day in town) but they would not have been able to justly and honorably convict him on even one of the thirty or forty charges they alleged BUT as everyone knows, the end result was that the government goons burned the place to the ground and killed 82 people, including 28 children.
No, folks, forget reason, logic, law and justice because when it comes to Donald Trump, and by extension, YOU, we’re talking raw, naked, and tyrannical government POWER.

Weren't the payments made to Stormy Daniels by Michael Cohen? I don't know if I have the facts wrong but that was my understanding. I thought he reimbursed Michael Cohen and being that Cohen is a liar, how does a person really know what he said to Donald Trump.
Could someone clear me up on this?

Wanna see this thing disappear faster than a snowflake on Venus? Then have Trump's attorneys quickly generate a few subpoenas for Bill and Hillary Clinton, Barack and Michelle Obama, George Soros, and a few other "key" Democrats, such as Marc Elias, Michael Sussmann, and Robbie Mook to name a few.
What's that old saying? If life gives you lemons, simply skin them alive, then put each in a 100 ton press, feet first? Yeah, I think that's it. ;-)

The Manhattan DA is at once claiming (a) Trump did NOT pay Cohen - so Cohen crossing the $2700 becomes a crime (b) Trump DID pay Cohen so the this 'crime' can be transferred to him. Then dissects this single act (which one, did he or didn't he?) into 34 identical slices to conjure up 34 felonies .Now it turns out the act of paying Daniels is NOT a crime under Federal statute. And the judge allows this farce to proceed and calmly sets dates for next steps. It's the crooked judge who should be thrown in jail.

Oopsies! Alvin and the Chipmunks overlooked that none, on purpose. Bragg did what he said would do, "indict Trump." Doesn't matter if it's bogus and illegal, he got his indictment, which for the lunatic fringe leftists, is all that matters.

People are probably going to hate me for saying this, but I think Trump should plead guilty to a misdemeanor and pay a fine, if the DA will go for that. This is just a bookkeeping issue--a misdemeanor. The only thing that makes it a felony is the allegation that it was intended to cover up a crime. The DA can't even name the crime, let alone say indicate how he plans to prove it. Bragg is known for pleading down felonies to misdemeanors. Why not here?

I guess they'll just have to skip the niceties- functional indictment, due process, trial etc- and get right to the punishment phase. Trump's BAD, he must be gotten.

#15, except that the statute of limitations on this supposed misdemeanor ran out years ago. Bragg’s got nothing and Trump should stand strong. NOT guilty.

I was reading an article on another website and contained in the article were two items of interest to me: "From there, there was a debate as to whether there was a conflict of interest between Trump and Joe Tacopina, one of his attorneys. Tacopina, the DA’s office argued, had previously been contacted by Stormy Daniels and he declined to represent her. Merchan asked Trump if he knew he had the right to what he called “conflict-free representation. Yes, Trump said in response" AND "The judge, who donated to Joe Biden before the 2020 election, then informed Trump it would be in the best interest of his defense if he chooses to attend all of his court proceedings."
So a judge is donating to a campaign election? There really needs to be campaign reform and so the judge takes a look at a conflict of interest but doesn't see it in himself?

Kangaroo courts don't need actual laws or crimes. They simply fabricate what they need to suit the conclusion they've already reached. They'll convict Trump of a felony, however tenuous judicially. This will happen likely in early 2024, after the primary season yet early enough to stop Trump running due to being a "felon". Appeals of course will eventually overturn the "conviction", but not until well after 2024 election is over and Biden is reinstalled. That's my guess, anyway.

The Process is the Punishment.
Dragging Mr. Trump through the mud, making him appear in this Kangaroo Court is the immediate goal.
This enables the Media to resume -as we saw last week- their chant "TRUMP..... INDICTMENT..... PORN STAR" ceaselessly, at the top-of-the-hour radio news, as the lead story of Every news show on TV, as the lead story Every Day from the Leftist Newspapers.
That the whole thing is known to be fake is hidden, and will continue to be hidden until the 2024 election,, just as the 'TRUMP RUSSIA COLLUSION' frenzy was known to be a fake story, a Political Dirty Trick by the HildeBeast, until after the 2020 election.
We are seeing the corrupt Democrat Party and the corrupt Big Media working together to further their crooked system and run America into the ground.
This corrupt system is laid bare in the article "Leo DiCaprio’s sworn testimony is a gross reminder of how the D.C. Establishment makes the sausage", listed nearby here on Lucianne.
By the way, the system of the Government partnering with Big Business to run a country has a name. This name was given to it by the guy who instituted a version of it in the 1930's and 1940's, Benito Mussolini.
The name is FASCISM.

Well... the rats got what they wanted...a distraction to keep Americans at their tv...and Wisconsin voters away from the polls...so a democrat bought and paid for by soros is gonna make trouble in Wisconsin ...remember with Obama ...watch his right hand ...when his left hand is in play...rats play dirty...and WE must prepare for them at every turn...

Doesn’t matter: the left rules WITH the law, not by it. As previously stated, now that he has been successfully dragged into the left’s “legal” system, there is virtually nothing that will get him out - at least for a couple of years.

God could come down to exonerate Trump...this show is going on regardless. Has nothing to do with facts or truth. This production is merely a stage, a conduit through which to smear Trump with leaks. Molly Sue in Keokuk will tune in to the salacious bits that are bound to flow regarding Trump's sexcapades with Playboy bunnies, porn stars and beauty queens...and all the payoffs. Wait for the "He paid for an abortion" rumor. This is the run-up to the inevitable trial, and even a "Not Guilty" verdict will not make a bit of difference. This will run right through the early caucus/primary season...and it will be ugly.

“Molly Sue” just might be a lot smarter than you think she is, #24.
She might consider the source, the unproven alternatives, the great proven MAGA results of his 4 years as POTUS - despite all the lies and hoaxes designed to destroy him, figure it’s all just more of the same & decide that she will stick with a sure thing to MAGA.

Stormy Daniels contacted Trump Atty Joseph Tacopina's law firm, not him directly. So the media is dead wrong again. Big Surprise.
The reason why the FEC came out and declared that what Trump allegedly did, was not a campaign violation, IS because they know they have no case and all of this bs is benefiting Trump. This blew up in their face and they are trying to get out of it.

The President Trump indictment was all about a distraction...it was scheduled on the day of Wisconsin's important soros election of the court judge...so that conservatives would watch the proceedings rather than go out and vote....aways watch what obamas right hand is doing when he wants you to focus on his left hand....next WE must determine what election is happening on December 4th...the date soros' judge implements the next appearance at $200,000,000 cost to New York....stay focused folks....

I'd like to try Poster #11's lemonade recipe. Lemonade a la DA Alvin Bragg would make the juiciest product and fun to watch. The hearing judge is way to old and dry. It always delights me when sticky stuff gets thrown at Trump and it doesn't land as expected.
