A controversial proposal by Los Angeles County Board members to "decarcerate" jails was withdrawn from Tuesday’s agenda after opposition from the public and law enforcement.
The agenda item was titled "Los Angeles County to take Actionable Next Steps to Depopulate and Decarcerate the Los Angeles County Jails."Introduced by Supervisors Lindsey Horvath and Hilda Solis, the proposal outlined that it would "Declare the state of mental health services and overcrowding in the Los Angeles County jails a humanitarian crisis, requiring the County to move with all deliberate speed on meaningful solutions; and prioritize decreasing the number of individuals entering the Los Angeles County Jails."

Just minutes after misfired tear gas canisters drove police back into the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, the retreating officers left unsecured the sets of double doors in the Lower West Terrace tunnel, giving protesters easy access to the entrance and sparking several hours of brutal violence, videos reveal.
Cell phone video entered into evidence in a recent Jan. 6 criminal case shows that protesters walked right through the sets of double doors (snip)
For months, questions have been raised by defense attorneys and case observers whether the doors at the tunnel entrance were locked and secure. Prosecutors contended in court filings that the doors were locked

Yesterday The American Thinker published an article by an author who was prompted by the transgender terror attack on the Christian school in Nashville. The author, Sha'i ben-Tekoa, was prompted by the attack—but not for the first time—to examine the slippery ideological slope that has America on an ever downward trajectory. As regular readers will be aware, I’m a firm believe in the principle of the slippery slope—the principle that the logic of ideas, once accepted, will be worked out to their most extreme consequences. Unless rejected in principle

Bloomberg reported, “U.S. Bank Deposits and Lending Both Dropped Last Week Amid Turmoil.
“Deposits fell nearly $126 billion, while bank loans retreated. Decrease in overall lending was largest since June 2021.”
It was deliberate.
Democrats and RINOs never let a crisis go to waste because a crisis allows them to expand their powers. 9/11 is just one example. Bush and company used it to add a Cabinet-level department, make the unpatriotic PATRIOT Act law, and start two wars they later would abandon.
Washington does not wait for a crisis to come along.

Former President Donald Trump will hold a speech on Tuesday night at his Mar-a-Lago resort, a senior 2024 campaign adviser confirmed on Sunday morning.
Trump adviser Jason Miller confirmed to Newsmax on Sunday he would deliver the speech at his Florida residence after he is arraigned by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg following a grand jury indictment last week.
“Trump is going to be giving a speech on Tuesday night at Mar-a-Lago 8:15 p.m. I think the entire world will be watching

Everything about Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is shallow fakery and manipulative astroturf. The term “astroturf” is given whenever a political operation attempts to generate the illusion of support where little to no support exists. Astroturf politics is pure fabrication and highlights the smallness of the candidate for whom the astroturf operation is conducted.
In republican national politics we saw astroturf operations around Carly Fiorina and Ted Cruz in 2016, so it doesn’t come as a surprise to see the same individual’s surface again as hired by Team DeSantis to create his 2024 astroturf campaign. Yesterday’s trip(snip)to Georgia was pure astroturf, complete with free DeSantis ’24 swag, t-shirts, and various

George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley has issued a warning to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg over his politically motivated case against President Donald Trump.
The legal scholar notes that New York judges, especially at the Appellate level, will not like the George Soros-funded prosecutor’s case against Trump.
“This indictment, if it is reportedly following the theory that we’ve been talking about, is political,” Turley said.
“It’s a raw political prosecution.

I know you are angry, I’m angry, we are all angry. However, in the past 24 hours I am more filled with resolve than ever before.
Every whiteboard is cleared, every distraction is removed, everything is now singularly focused on this corrupt and manipulative war that is going to take place in the battlefield of presidential politics with Donald John Trump at the center of it. I have prayed more in the past several weeks than in my entire lifetime and now we reach the phase where we lift our heads, get off our knees and confront this corrupt, conniving system.
I will share more later. In the interim, what former

U.S. House lawmakers voted in support of an energy bill amendment that would prevent the Department of Energy from introducing energy efficiency standards that could outlaw most gas stoves on the market today.
More than a dozen Democrats joined Republicans in supporting the measure, part of a Republican-led pro-fossil-fuel legislative package H.R. 1, also referred to as the Lower Energy Costs Act, which the Biden administration has vowed to veto.

While running his minimalist presidential campaign in 2020, Joe Biden’s handlers sold him as the wise, responsible, inside-the-Beltway moderate the country desperately needed after his allegedly renegade predecessor. What we instead received was arguably the least transparent administration in the nation’s history, populated by a series of radical activists who are driven by an agenda most Americans would reject (snip)
That noxious combination of radicalism and lack of transparency was on display yet again this week when embattled Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas made a scheduled visit to Capitol Hill for questioning by senators. It only served to reaffirm that we are a nation being led by unserious people who

President Trump’s departure from the White House brought back the Dark Ages of the deep state’s ownership of the federal government. The new regime seeks to punish his supporters as well as destroy him.
The destruction of East Palestine, Ohio, epitomized the cruel nature of the vengeance of our government on those who dared want to make America great again. The village is poor and white (98%) and voted overwhelmingly for Trump. The EPA used a train wreck as an opportunity to inflict pain. The administration never acknowledged the heartbreak. Biden visited Ukraine, not Ohio.
