The Slippery Slope

Original Article

Yesterday The American Thinker published an article by an author who was prompted by the transgender terror attack on the Christian school in Nashville. The author, Sha'i ben-Tekoa, was prompted by the attack—but not for the first time—to examine the slippery ideological slope that has America on an ever downward trajectory. As regular readers will be aware, I’m a firm believe in the principle of the slippery slope—the principle that the logic of ideas, once accepted, will be worked out to their most extreme consequences. Unless rejected in principle

It's a form of Newton's law that when two bodies interact, they apply forces to one another that are equal in magnitude and opposite in direction. That does not appear correct in the political realm, where the forces are rarely equal to one another, one overcoming the other either eventually or immediately. Conservatism as one of those forces has difficulty mustering forces when its essential basis is to conserve the status quo, to deflect change, to maintain tradition and traditional values. American conservatism, in a nation awash with prosperity that is "inequitable" but essentially supporting even the impoverished well by global standards, has a very hard time saying "NO!" to share/redistribute the wealth schemes, or to demands for "social justice", for example. It has difficulty in advancing change - what about those lightbulbs and EVs? Conservatism is forever supporting the lower end of the slippery slope.

"Men who wish to become “trans women” only need to suppress their testosterone (over 70% of men have no surgery at all), yet still, have much more than women will ever have." Even more than "trans men" women, who have their bodies flooded with testosterone to coerce them to take on typically-male traits? Studies on the adverse effects (physical AND behavioral) of massive doses of testosterone helped to get steroids outlawed.

Pope Paul VI was excoriated in the world press when he released his encyclical "Humanae Vitae" on the sacredness of human life, marriage and God's plan for mankind. Reading his wise and prescient words sixty years on, it is clear why the New World Order needed to neutralize his Pontifical influence, and ostracize the Catholic Church for its backward teachings against "The Pill" and abortion. Paul VI was defending women against the socialist onslaught dedicated to destroying them and their families. The pill was touted as liberating women. As this article details, women lie at the bottom of the slope covered in mud while some dude in a dress is on top of the hill with the trophy.

#4 NO, the pill was touted as a Married Woman's way to have sex with her husband without fear of pregnancy. Many marriages failed because men wanted sex and wives did not want to chance pregnancy. Men then took mistresses. This was understandable. That was the first slippery slope. Then their daughters could have sex without commitment. Then since sex outside of marriage became normal, who could judge men from having sex with men? Slippery slope indeed.

Former President Donald Trump has been indicted on 34 counts of falsifying business records. Trump was indicted by a New York grand jury following a probe by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. The 16-page indictment, released on April 4 after Trump was arraigned, says that Trump falsified records related to multiple payments made to keep concealed negative information about him. That includes the payment made to Stormy Daniels, an adult film actress who has claimed Trump had an affair with her, according to the charges.

A controversial proposal by Los Angeles County Board members to "decarcerate" jails was withdrawn from Tuesday’s agenda after opposition from the public and law enforcement. The agenda item was titled "Los Angeles County to take Actionable Next Steps to Depopulate and Decarcerate the Los Angeles County Jails."Introduced by Supervisors Lindsey Horvath and Hilda Solis, the proposal outlined that it would "Declare the state of mental health services and overcrowding in the Los Angeles County jails a humanitarian crisis, requiring the County to move with all deliberate speed on meaningful solutions; and prioritize decreasing the number of individuals entering the Los Angeles County Jails."

Just minutes after misfired tear gas canisters drove police back into the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, the retreating officers left unsecured the sets of double doors in the Lower West Terrace tunnel, giving protesters easy access to the entrance and sparking several hours of brutal violence, videos reveal. Cell phone video entered into evidence in a recent Jan. 6 criminal case shows that protesters walked right through the sets of double doors (snip) For months, questions have been raised by defense attorneys and case observers whether the doors at the tunnel entrance were locked and secure. Bloomberg reported, “U.S. Bank Deposits and Lending Both Dropped Last Week Amid Turmoil. “Deposits fell nearly $126 billion, while bank loans retreated. Decrease in overall lending was largest since June 2021.” It was deliberate. Democrats and RINOs never let a crisis go to waste because a crisis allows them to expand their powers. 9/11 is just one example. Bush and company used it to add a Cabinet-level department, make the unpatriotic PATRIOT Act law, and start two wars they later would abandon. Washington does not wait for a crisis to come along.

Everything about Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is shallow fakery and manipulative astroturf. The term “astroturf” is given whenever a political operation attempts to generate the illusion of support where little to no support exists. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg reportedly asked Judge Juan Marchan to hold the trial of former President Donald Trump in January 2024, which happens to be the middle of the presidential primary season. Fox News reporter Jake Gibson, who was in the courtroom, said that prosecutors had asked for the January 2024 trial date. The Iowa caucuses — the first contest in the Republican primary — will be on February 5, 2024.That means prosecutors want a trial that would undoubtedly affect the race for the Republican nomination, both by distracting the current frontrunner, and by tarnishing him relative to other candidates in the race.

Sears said they hadn’t seen the charges and didn't comment any further.
