Prince Andrew is faced with another major "letdown" as King Charles prepares for his coronation. The Duke of York is said to be "furious" over the possibility that he’ll be banned from wearing his ceremonial roles when the king is crowned on May 6. The 63-year-old, a knight in the Order of the Garter, was expecting to wear his grand regalia, the Mirror recently reported. However, the king is allegedly "torn" over this decision. "The letdown for Charles' younger brother may be even worse than what has been reported,"

Comments:

Reason #1,753,905,317 for why we dodged a bullet separating from England. Andrew should be in jail, not throwing a fit over his coronation attire.

Andrew should thank Charles for not throwing him out of England altogether. He cost them a fortune paying off that 17 year old and he has the worst reputation for arrogance and nastiness of all the royal family.

Some of the commentators have little use for the Royal Family of Great Britain. That's fine with me. Personally, I like to keep up with their travals. I'ld rather watch the Royal Family than Yellowstone. Yellowstone will someday go by the wayside, the Royals just keep drumming along.

That should only happen if a court finds him guilty. Even a royal has right of legal protection OP. If Andrew is still a part of the Order of the Garter, then Charles should back off and stop bullying his family like this.

Since his own mother, QEII, stripped Andrew of whatever she deemed appropriate, it made sense that she did so on the evidence she, no doubt, received from the available intelligence sources to her. Being her favorite, I expect this was not an easy decision, yet s he made it. I suspect she knew exactly what Randy Andy got up to with his pal, Jeffrey Epstein and did not want that to sully the Royal family’s reputation. Being wise, she wanted him out of sight because of the potential exposure of his sexual perversions. King Charles evidently wants no part of his brother which tells me that he, too, knows exactly what Andrew has done. I don’t fault KC for wanting to protect the monarchy. Thank goodness it’s not our deal, but it is in Great Britain. I enjoy the pomp and circumstance which Britain does better than anyone in the world. The pride that it’s citizens take in their country’s ceremony is awesome to watch. KC does not want to damage the brand or disappoint his subjects. Andrew is a real problem along with the Markle’s. When they have behaved so badly, what do they expect? Sideline all of them.

I am soooo tired of the royal family which is as dysfunctional as everyone else. Charles is weak and is bowing down to Megan and Harry. He should strip them of all titles. They left the UK and are no longer working for their titles. Andrew should have been kicked out long time ago. He's a royal jerk.

It seems to me that the Decency and Class of that family died along with the Queen. Charles is a fool, Andrew apparently 'thinks' with his 'other head', Harry is another fool for even dating, much less marrying the manipulative trash Meghan. It remains to be seen if, at some future date, William and Kate can re-earn and regain the people's respect.

The latest House Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government hearing was the final straw. I can no longer be a Democrat after watching my party of three decades ignore the serious implications of vast governmental censorship and desperately, sometimes comically, try to shoot the messengers. Last week’s hearing was meant to take testimony on the implications of government censorship reported in the Twitter Files — a series of articles, released on social-media platform Twitter, outlining the “censorship-industrial complex.” But what it actually did was draw an astonishingly clear distinction between today’s Democrats and Republicans when it comes to our most fundamental and important right: freedom of speech. CORRECTION*

“At long last, have you left no sense of decency?” Those words were first asked by lawyer Joseph Welch in his confrontation with Sen. Joseph McCarthy (R-Wis.) during the Senate’s infamous Army-McCarthy hearings. This week, nearly 70 years later, Welch’s words seem more relevant than ever after House Democrats savaged two journalists who attempted to explain a government effort to censor citizens. It was only the latest of a series of hearings in which FBI agents and other whistleblowers, experts and journalists have been personally attacked for raising free-speech concerns. This week’s hearing showed definitively that we live in a post-decency era.

George Washington University Law School professor Jonathan Turley on Saturday appeared on FOX News to react to the Twitter Files hearing in the House. Turley said the hearing was like a Soviet show trial because Democrats were outraged when Republicans allowed witnesses to respond to allegations made by the Democrats. "You had Democrats who accused former members of Congress of being Putin lovers and conspiracy theorists," Turley said. "All they were doing was raising free-speech concerns but what really was shocking in the last hearing is the Democrats have now severed their connection to the free press and the values underlying the free press."

Friday’s biggest headline-grabbing news was the bust of Silicon Valley Bank following a run on its deposits. The collapse was the second-largest bank failure in the nation’s history and fears of a domino effect rattled stock markets. Seen from the long run, however, that was probably not the most important event of the day. The honor goes to the announcement that Saudi Arabia and Iran restored diplomatic relations. Given their long proxy war in Yemen and fierce sectarian hatred, the sudden agreement (right) was stunning. Even more so because China brokered it.

America’s top medical schools, worried they have too few minority students, are doing something about it. They are lowering academic standards for admission and trying to hide the evidence. Columbia, Harvard, the University of Chicago, Stanford, Mount Sinai, and the University of Pennsylvania have already done so. The list already tops forty, and more are sure to follow. Of course, the universities won’t admit what they are doing – and certainly not why. All they will say is that their new standards add “equity” and “lived experience.” Unfortunately, adding those factors inevitably lessens the weight given to others.
