If you haven’t seen the story yet, down in Fort Lauderdale there’s an LGBT-focused area called Sebastian St. where a large modern LGBT flag has been painted on the street. Footage has been coming out of it being vandalized by a truck that decided to peel out while sitting on top of the flag, leaving it scuffed and blackened. [Tweet] On Wednesday, more footage emerged that showed some cyclists doing their best to scuff up the flag as well. According to WSVN-TV, the cleanup process has begun to repair the flag and police are now trying to track down the vandals. The station began interviewing people

Get the FBI on it right away! Oh, they're already there, are they? They started it.

This is precisely the type of "crime" that our modern FIB is most suited to handle. Thousands of arrests to come.

The Cops should be looking for whoever painted the Flag on the Street and charge them with DEFACING Public Property. After all, it's the Taxpayers who have to pay for the time it takes to scrub the darn Flag off the Street. It doesn't BELONG there along with all the Black Lives Matter words painted on streets around the U.S.!

Fort Lauderdale’s Democrat Mayor Dean Trantalis said the city “will not tolerate those people who try to exhibit hate in our community. It’s not wanted. It doesn’t belong here, and it’s no longer part of our history.”
But meanwhile gays attack other communities, namely Christian ones.
Gay "lawfare" has gays going past dozens of bakeries to pretend they simply must have a wedding cake made by Christian bakers.
If anyone is exhibiting hats, it's the gay agenda pushers.

The FBI is rounding up every vehicle with the likes of a Confederate flag.
This is another form of insurrection and they should be arrested along with the January 6 terriosts and jailed without a hearing.

That Ft. Lauderdale street must surely be the best place to take your Dodge Charger or Challenger with the supercharged hemi V-8s and do some burnouts. The rainbow painters have taken the Lord's most beautiful work and tried to turn it into something unholy and evil. People should be doing doughnuts all over it.

It's a public street. What kind of country is this when you can't even do a burnout in the street?

#4, I know it’s a typo and you meant to write “hate,” but gays exhibiting hats is pretty darned funny.

You know there are rusty old Vegas or MGs out there with holes in the floorboards. Have a passenger pour paint remover out those rust holes while driving over in heavy traffic. Sooner or later they will get tired of repainting it.

I notice that the flag covers over some the traffic control lines. Specially, it looks to be covering over part of a solid double-yellow line, the part where the line - indicating no passing on a road with two-way traffic - starts. That seems a little unsafe and possibly against state road regulations.
Also, why would you put your symbol in place where, even at the best of times, it will get use, wear-and-tear, and unthinking abuse, besides deliberate abuse? What next? The floors of public toilets? (Well, any place in a public toilet.)
Then there are the aesthetics of the thing. It is not well-placed on the road, seeming to be off-center both longitudinally and latitudinally, and its colors seem faded. Check out images of other LGBT road flags in other cities. Most are obviously more cross-walks, well thought-out and vibrant. Less change of people peeling out, but as cross-walks, they are still open to the hazards of being part of the road.
Which came first? The camera or the flag?

So, while I suppose the two videos may indicate someone "defacing" this flag because of what it stands for (either to create an incident or to express disagreement), it seems equally likely to me these individuals chose to take their actions here because it would stand out more than somewhere else. I remember when I was in high school all of the guys (including me, although I never had a car which was particularly good at it) loved to leave burnout marks at places where the marks would stand out (concrete parking lots were better than asphalt ones).

I grew up in Ft. Lauderdale in the 1970s graduated from Ft. Lauderdale High School in 1980. There has always been a homosexual presence in Ft. Lauderdale but they kept to themselves, ran their antique stores, etc. I actually worked at a restaurant that catered to a night club that featured drag shows back when children were not allowed to attend and it was for adults, to include many straight women who just came to have a drink, maybe dance and not be harassed. Ahh the good old days...
The whole homosexual scene has totally changed from then to all this in your face garbage and they can take their pride and shove it.

Painting the streets with political agenda is probably against the law. What if Conservatives painted their opinions on the street. These same people who are defacing public property would be screaming and painting over it.

I'm a member of the "tribe" and probably would have made an effort to lock up my tires on the mural. A: "art" has no place on a public street. By virtue of it being on the pavement guarantees that it gets scuffed up and worn down. B: public art pushing a special interest agenda has no place on a public street, nor paid for using tax dollars. I would sorta be ok with this if every intersection had art to "honor" every ethnic, religious, racial etc group inhabiting FT Lauderdale.
Where are the murals honoring veterans, for example.
Imagine the hysteria if ohhhh say a blue star of David with white stripes on a white background was painted. Or..... the Christian flag....papal flag etc.
This is a multicultural society. I expect tolerance. I don't expect acceptance, forced acceptance nor celebration. I don't even have any expectations of non-discrimination. I believe in the freedom of association and by extension, the freedom to conduct or not conduct business with anyone we choose.

Up to 2018 I lived in San Francisco and that city never painted any flag or slogan on streets. The life of any would be very short due to the wear and tear from vehicles. The fools who run Fort Lauderdale are copying the fools in New York and Washington DC who defaced their streets with Black Lives Matter. Yes, the mayor installed it to pander to the mob and also to manufacture “hate” crimes.

If it's in the street and isn't alive, it's not even vandalism. Why waste the police's time?

Pssst....paint on the road way makes it slippery, easier to spin tires or skid upon than "Normal" pavement areas.
They are acting all "poutraged" that some other "Gang" graffiti'd on their Graffiti.
How bout dis...don't GRAFFITI!
Ya wanna do "Art" put it in an artspace or a gallery....or the bathroom stall walls, next to the Glory Holes.

Back when the Packers were winning, a local restaurant put a Patriot jersey on the floor for people to wipe their feet on. Stepping on an emblem is insulting that emblem. If I had an emblem I respected, the last place I would place it would be on a sidewalk or street to be trod upon.

Another double standard. Flag desecration is not illegal or so says the SCOTUS when American haters burn and stomp on the American Flag. So why is it a "crime" to destroy or deface an LGBT flag?

What "vandals"?!?!?!? It is perfectly legal to burn or desecrate a US flag in this country. So these drivers and riders were clearly just practicing their 1st amendment right to free expression over another flag!!!
Besides, this is a public street, which these people's taxes pay for. Unless it's illegal to peel out on any public street, then this street is no different.
If some people's feelings were hurt over this, nobody cares. Paint your sodomy flag on private property and nobody will mess with it. But put it on a public street, and it is fair game!!!!!

I wish someone would paint a large MAGA flag, and see how long before it was de-faced. And how zealously the police would look for the de-facers.

118 Catholic churches were vandalized since the leak of the Dobbs document. And more than one abortion counselling centers was firebombed.
Who gives a fig about a defaced pavement?

It's considered free speech to burn a United States flag, but it's a crime to disfigure a flag put there by mentally ill ,sick, bung holing freaks.,
