Former President Donald J. Trump unveiled his plans for a “sweeping pro-American overhaul of our tax and trade policy” aimed at bolstering American production and shedding economic dependence on China.
In a campaign video released Monday, Trump first blasted President Joe Biden, stating that despite his claims to be pro-American manufacturing, he is “pushing the same pro-China globalist agenda that ripped the industrial heart out of our country.”

Perfect. I try very diligently to buy nothing that is "Made in China". It's not easy, and sometimes I just don't get an item that I cannot find made somewhere besides the Chinese Communist Party's giant prison camp.

The 45th president asserted that Biden “will never get the job done” and that “[h]e is weak on China because the corrupt Biden family has received millions and millions of dollars from entities tied to the Chinese Communist Party.”
May America get to the bottom of this corruption, and prosecute the evil-doers to the fullest extent of the law.
It’s past time…
And, Lord, protect and continue to guide America, and may ALL the traitors be held accountable according to our Constitution, for Your Glory, Amen.

China is teetering on the Brink. Labor costs in China have gone up 1500% in the last 20 years. And, supply chains are crumbling. They just announced a 10% cutback in Lithium processing. Next time its liable to be 50%. No potash is being exported and China used to be the world's largest supplier.
If we want to have things, we must have alternate suppliers. And, anything that can be made in the US or North America in general (remember Canadian mines and Mexican assembly plants) must be reshored.

Trump needs to start a bring it back to the US. The way China has been threatening us is a red flag. China was allowed to take over battery, electronics, textiles , furniture, meds, textiles, ammunition, farm land, colleges..they used the US $$$ to build their country, now they want to destroy us. The Big $$$ companies in the US should be ashamed for selling out for cheap labor.

Totally agree with this. We must cut ties with China. Even if we don't bring manufacturing back, there are other countries that can fill the gap--Mexico, India, to name a few.

Kudlow has been hammering Republican candidates for over a week about the lack of a message concerning the economy. Well Trump just unveiled a pretty good one.

I remember in the days of my pharmaceutical sales career (80;s to mid 2000's), that many US based pharmaceutical companies, including mine, had US facilities with many of them in Puerto Rico. At the time, the USA offered tax incentives to firms for operating in PR and providing well-paying quality job in that US territory. I believe the Clinton regime discontinued those incentives and many companies closed their operations.
My former employer, who was owned by a non-US company until sold to a large US-conglomerate in the early 2000s, even kept those US production facilities when they took over in the mid 90s. But the US company moved most of the production to China in the mid-2000s. A few months ago, they had an 80% reduction in inventory due to a plant closure caused by COVID. Many pharmaceuticals, including pain meds, psych meds, etc. are in short supply with their initial source of China.
If Trump or the GOP can truly bring back this and other critical capacity to the USA, that alone is the reason to support them. Heck, I'll put up with the mean tweets again.
However, Fentayl production in China for export is exceeding expectations. Thanks, Brandon!

This is what separates Trump from everybody else, except maybe DeSantis. Democrats don't know how to create jobs or get the economy going. They are to busy stealing your money and giving billions to Ukraine.

China is going to be even more involved in the 2024 election than it has been in past elections. They can't afford for Trump to be president again. Look at those who do not want Trump elected and you have your reasons for voting for Trump.

I can't shake the nagging sense that such a move on our part could motivate China to call due our national debt. Then we default on it, and they take our country as partial payment.
