Joe Biden was quick to pat himself on the back after the latest numbers from the Bureau of Economic Analysis showed that the U.S. economy grew by 2.9% in the fourth quarter of 2022 and 2.1% for the entire year. “Last quarter, our economy grew at a 2.9% annual pace – solid growth, even as we continue to bring inflation down,” Biden tweeted. “Our economic plan worked. And it still is.” But according to the Heritage Foundation, the latest report “should have alarm bells ringing, not trumpets sounding.” “That’s because economic growth is slowing down,” explains research fellow EJ Antoni. “Even the areas which contributed positively to gross domestic product (GDP)

And the Republicans will be blamed for all of this if they don’t raise the debt ceiling and if they cut spending. I’m thinking the democrats intentionally gave us a small win in Congress as an escape route for the coming economic disaster caused by their failed policies. If Trump does win in 2024 he will have to climb out of a deep deep hole left by Biden and company and maybe in a war to boot.

I don’t wish harm on good, solid Americans but sometimes I think a really bad depression is what this country (and the world) need to wake people up. We have been living large for so long we have forgotten what hardship is.

Absolutely #2. We have been living in the lap of plenty for so long that we and our children and neighbors think this is normal. It’s not. Most of humanity’s existence has been a hard scramble to get even a portion of our children raised to adulthood. And life can return to that condition so fast. Stupid leaders, stupid social experiments and stupid beliefs will doom us faster than our Lord can throw out a lifeline. And the signs are all around us.

Outside of the West and America, most of the World has woken up #2. They have reached the conclusion that the United States is unfit to lead, the World Bank and IMF are designed to keep them in debt and in servitude to the West's consumption, they realize that the West will confiscate their assets if they do not comply to the demands and dictates. This awareness is why we are seeing the global split from the past hegemony with the US as the "World Leader". Unfortunately the American Economy and the American Public are not prepared for the coming destruction of the US dollar.

Ruining the economy is the plan. Allowing nearly FIVE MILLION illegal invaders into the country puts a bigger strain on the economy which will then fail because of spending more than we make to pay for this. Then, we will be FORCED to accept socialism and the handful of "annointed" NoBamaite 'leaders' to govern over U.S. money supply and we will be a corrupt and compromised police state like much or Europe has become and is moving away from... Most of our wishy-washy corrupt republicans voted for this with all the UNRELATED 'goodies' tucked away in those massive spending bills the last five years, and that includes all the PORK in that so-called Covid-1984 bill the President Trump signed off on (which included $25 million dollars in money for the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts that had absolutely NOTHING to do with stopping C-1984) As a result, the 20 or so republicans who held out for changes that had already been agreed to before the vote for Speaker were demonized in the media who wanted then to vote immediately so that no reforms and curbs on the Piglosi corruption model could be agreed to so it would be corruption as usual....

Be careful wishing for a depression to awaken Americans. Crime and despair (suicides) will be rampant everywhere. We would be better off having a civil war to rid ourselves of the cause than suffering thru another depression.

For most there is no way to live large and save money, it's a bucket with a hole in it. Though not exciting, people should find and learn to enjoy a simple life style where you not only save money but avoid spending what's left over.

The decline in disposable income is because people are no longed getting COVID checks while they are still working. Duh! It seems that the Fed shares the same mentality as the article author that the way to save the villiage is to destroy it by pushing unemployment up. I think the the Volker Fed of the 1980's is calling Powell and asking for their Phillips Curve back. There is nothing inevitable about any recession or depression once you start treating the money supply as a policy variable and not an instrument of moral discipline. The depression in 1929 was the direct result of the government reducing its debt through taxation by 36% between 1920-1930. If the Fed continues to tighten the supply of money (M2) through unjustified high interest rates while the Republicans stupidly push for a "balanced budget", it will end just as badly.

Better be ready at all times. Home being paid for is a good thing. And having a way to pay the taxes, too. Huge numbers of homes were lost for inability to pay taxes in the last one. I have no idea what is coming, but the folks in DC have been running a giant Ponzi scheme for at least 80-90 years, one day they all fall apart.

If by depression, you mean a large scale financial collapse, then I agree. To be followed by people taking what they want from their neighbors. To be followed by our enemies expanding their power overseas. Can't wait.

If you’re like me you’ve probably had it with being afraid of the sheer rise in power that the transgender movement has amassed in little over two years. It has many people scared, truly scared. Scared of saying (I’m going to say it): Biological men can never be real women; men cannot have babies; referring to oneself as “they” is beyond grammatically infelicitous, it renders one a nonsensical and a conceptual non-entity; the transgender affirmation of adolescents, which means agreeing to visiting a host of atrocities on a child’s body and plying it with irreversible drugs, is child abuse; trans women (biological men) have no business participating in (real) women's

Recently an unarmed 29-year-old African American, Tyre Nichols, was brutally beaten to death by five Black Memphis police officers. They were charged with murder. All belonged to a special crime unit known as the Scorpions. Both the victimizers and victim were Black. The Memphis police chief is Black. The assistant police chief is Black. Nearly 60 percent of the police force is Black. The white population of Memphis is about 25%. The now-disbanded Scorpion unit of mostly Black officers was created as a response to grassroots appeals to stop spiraling crime in mostly Black neighborhoods. The death of Tyre Nichols could be attributed to many things: a basic lack of humanity

In the past few years, however, women’s sports have been threatened, as male-bodied “transgender” athletes have made their way onto women’s sports teams, and in some cases, even into their locker rooms. One athlete, Riley Gaines, competed against Will “Lia” Thomas, a biological male athlete who began identifying as a transgender woman during college. Thomas competed on the men’s swim team for three years at the University of Pennsylvania. But, senior year, Thomas began competing

It has been three years since COVID-19 entered the scene. It probably emerged in the previous year based on COVID antibodies found in banked blood from the fall of 2019 and a severe non-influenza respiratory illness sweeping through ICUs in the early winter of 2019. In those days it was simply called the Chinese coronavirus, based on the reported origin but we still don’t know that for sure. In fact, much of what we have been told about COVID over the past three years has turned out to be “misinformation”, as government, corporate media, and big tech described everything that went against their preferred COVID narrative. Who are the real deniers?
