He will replace Ron Klain, who will reportedly depart the administration in the coming weeks. Notably, Biden, who has sought to expand “diversity” in his administration, is opting for Zients to be his chief of staff and overlooking the rest of his diverse team, such as Anita Dunn, a female senior adviser, and Susan Rice, a woman of color. Lawyers for former Vice President Mike Pence said a "small number" of classified documents were found at his home in Indiana last week.

If the Biden administration was looking for a deflection from the president’s classified documents scandal, they’ve now been handed one. According to CNN, multiple classified documents were found at the home of Mike Pence after he apparently had his lawyer conduct a search. (snip) Because of Pence’s stupidity, the narrative will shift to blaming the system in order to excuse Biden’s criminality. This was the lifeline the president needed.
