Our latest I&I/TIPP Poll finds that three years since COVID-19 appeared in the U.S., almost 40% of adults think it’s a good idea to mask up children under 5. As President Joe Biden might say, we have two words for such parents: Shame. On. You. And double shame on you for those liberal Democrats who like to preen about how they “listen to the science.” Shame on you for ignoring the data about who is at risk from COVID. For failing to put this risk in perspective. And shame on you for ignoring the long-term psychological damage you’re inflicting on

Shame on us for not performing a single randomized trial of mask wearing in the US. Shame on us for failing to develop an effective drug treatment or vaccine for RSV. Shame on us for failing to develop an effective drug treatment or vaccine for the common cold. Shame on us for all the monstrous failings of the CDC. And shame on teaching hospitals for allowing mindless bureaucrats to promulgate policy with no scientific data. And shame on antivaxxers for all the garbage pseudo science they have forced upon us.

For some wearing a mask (or forcing your kids to) is like posting the flag of Ukraine on your facebook. Trying to visually demonstrate your politics. They need to transition to wearing a blue hat, or signage t-shirts, or bumper stickers, or....

We knew early on that children were not centers of transmission and had a very low risk of serious illness from Covid-19. The masking of children and school shutdowns were an over-reaction to a miniscule risk. The extent of the over-reaction was related to which state and who was Governor. It is unbelievable that even know it is not uncommon to see Covidiots wearing masks outdoors or while driving in their cars by themselves.

I still see people, perhaps 1 on 20 or fewer in stores and other public places with masks on. I feel kinda sorry for them, hiding fearfully behind a piece of useless, pointless, foolish, and ineffective cloth. I'm sure a few are people with a legitimate health problem, and probably told by some "medical professional" that they should "play it safe". The overwhelming majority are just ignorant fools. But....it's a free world, I'd never do anything to their faces to shame them or bother them....unlike they did to me, and others or at least tried, when they wanted to force their foolish fetish on everyone.

Certain parts of the country can register high mold content in their air quality. Daily Mold Index percentages are publicized. Red Tide conditions along the Florida coasts can create the need for N95 masks (the only OTC mask that will filter out mold) for people with a compromised respiratory system. Someone undergoing chemotherapy may have to mask up because of a low white blood count. Let’s be honest. Masks aren’t the problem. Government Mandates and “mask-shaming busybodies” are the problem. Self reliance and personal responsibility are in short supply these days. If a child is healthy, leave them alone. Their young immune system needs to be strengthened one virus at a time. Putting a paper or cloth mask on a child because of “Covid-Fear” is counterproductive.

Title 42’s End Postponed For Now, But
Biden’s Border Crisis Remains

Just in the nick of time, Chief Justice John Roberts has placed a hold on a lower court decision to end the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Title 42 power at the U.S. border. That staves off an expected massive wave of illegal immigrants from crossing into the U.S., at least for now. But, while Roberts’ move is welcome, this doesn’t end the border crisis. Under the Title 42’s authority, the U.S. can expel illegals to prevent spread of COVID, which many health officials believe is set to spike again as winter arrives this week. Title 42 has been

Fearing a huge winter upswing in the number of COVID and flu cases, government officials are once again calling on Americans to don their masks to keep the deadly viruses from spreading. But some take it a step further, suggesting even children 5 and under should put on masks. The latest I&I/TIPP Poll asks: Is that a good idea? The answer, probably not surprisingly to anyone, appears to depend heavily on a variety of factors, including where you live, your race, your gender and your political leanings. So, at the very least, we’re likely in for another politicized debate over the practice of masking, this time for the youngest among us.

Over the weekend, a massive caravan of more than 5,000 crossed the southern border in what is described as “a stunning surge that shocked immigration agents, neighboring towns, and state officials.” Where will these illegals end up? Most likely, everywhere inside the U.S., courtesy of several non-profit groups that are working with the Biden administration in an under-the-radar mass resettlement effort. An investigation by the Heritage Foundation tracked more than 30,000 cell phones that arrived at Customs and Border Control facilities or dozens of non-profits at or near the southern border in January 2022.

The Jan. 6 Capitol ruckus is not one of our country’s greatest moments. But if the objective of a few of the protesters was to overthrow the federal government, they planned and executed poorly. The same can’t be said of the Democrats. Their mostly bloodless coup to suspend constitutional limits and seize unchallenged power has been thoroughly calculated and expertly executed. For decades Democrats at all levels have been moving the U.S. from the civil society it was designed to be to the political (that is, coercive) society they want to be in control of. They have waged outright war on the first, second and 10th amendments to the Constitution;

When Biden administration officials aren’t promising to put them out of business, they’re calling oil companies “un-American” for not drilling more. They should look in a mirror. Amos Hochstein, Joe Biden’s “senior adviser for energy security” at the State Department, complained to the Financial Times last week that oil companies were using profits to buy back stock rather than invest in oil production. “It is not only un-American, it is so unfair to the American public,” he said. “You want to pay dividends, pay dividends. You want to pay shareholders, pay shareholders. You want to get bonuses, do that, too. You could do all of that and still invest more.

With the media saturated once again with forecasts of a coming surge in COVID cases and the flu this winter, it’s perhaps no surprise that Americans overwhelmingly believe the pandemic is still with us. But they also want the government to end its COVID emergency declaration, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows. In a much-discussed interview with CBS News’ 60 Minutes back in September, President Biden made the controversial comment that the pandemic “is over” in the U.S. His remarks set off a lively, and at times angry, debate. The I&I/TIPP poll asked respondents simply, “Is the COVID pandemic over or not over?” By a slightly more than 2-to-1

If you are a conservative voter in America today at some point you have to realize you have no representation in the US Senate. The Senate Republicans REALLY, really hate their base. The bill gives another $44.9 billion to Ukraine — where it disappears into the ether. The bill also makes it impossible for Americans to challenge a stolen election.

No, McConnell said that "providing assistance for Ukrainians to defeat the Russians is the number one priority for the United States right now, according to most Republicans." Really?

Add yet another government overreach to the “Things You Didn’t Think Could Happen in America” file: Democrats on the lame-duck House and Ways and Means Committee voted Tuesday to release six years of former President Donald Trump’s tax returns. Why? Because they um, uh—because they want to? But wait, you say to yourself, that’s not possible; your tax returns are private by federal law, and therefore protected from release. The Dems of course found a sleazy way around that. The tax code allows the committee to look at people’s tax returns to provide “oversight” of the Internal Revenue Service, and by writing an official report on their findings,

The Elimination of Harmful Language Initiative will also aim to educate people about the impact that 'racist, violent and biased' words have. The question in the title needs, I believe, critical examination. Why DOES the Left hate Trump so much? The answer, as usual, can largely be found by analyzing history. But first. Do they hate him because the average price of a gallon of gas in his administration was far lower than under Biden? Is it because inflation was low (around 2%) and trending downward? Is it that the USA was energy independent and didn’t need to beg our enemies for oil, deplete our strategic oil reserve or sell it to China? Is it because black and Hispanic unemployment was lower than at any time in history?
