As COVID-19 cases increase, the Los Angeles County public health director is threatening – yes, that’s the right word – another indoor mask mandate. It’s a hob-nailed boot on the neck. Angelenos need to resist, for themselves and the rest of the country. “As COVID cases and other viruses continue to rise, the Southland is inching closer to a mask mandate,” the Los Angeles CBS affiliate reported Sunday. Barbara Ferrer, the county director of public health, who is not a physician, not a nurse, not even a paper shuffler at a doctor’s office, but a social welfarist, said last week that “masking”

There are good, double blind, recent studies that demonstrate that masks are useless in virus control, as well as studies by the marine corps, nih, cdc, japan, and others, going back to 1918.

I went to a doctor's appointment yesterday. A sign on the door said, "Masks Required." Went into the doctors' office. Only a few masks were to be seen. None of the employees wore masks.

Authoritarian bureaucrats love masks. The way to defuse them is very simple: "Show me that data that masks do anything of any value." On April 3 2020 , the CDC issued guidance concerning wearing masks. Since then, the CDC has failed to come up with any data that masks actually do anything of value. Clinical trials of masks-wearing have consistently failed to show that masks protect wearers or others from COVID, Ask the bureaucrats specifically: 1) By what percentage does wearing a mask reduce the risk of the wearer becoming infected with COVID? 2) By what percentage does wearing a mask reduce the risk of transmitting COVID to others?

#3. Gotta be more positive. Our med systems all require masks. I just shoved this article “(https://justthenews.com/government/federal-agencies/highest-protection-rigorous-international-study-n95-masks-upends” under the nose of the coo of OSU med center, pointed out the costs (social and economic) of universal masking, and suggested that the universal masking policy should be reconsidered, especially in the light of potential future damage claims from non front line staff.

Wishful thinking. A city that voted overwhelmingly for Biden, Newsom and for a fanatical socialist for mayor will willingly don the masks. The San Francisco Bay Area will fall in line soon after. Newsom will then impose a mandate statewide. It wasn’t until February of this year that the last statewide mask mandate was lifted. I live in an area where cities run by Democrats enforced the mandate while those run by Republicans didn’t.

I frequently ignored the "mandates" for masks. Including in Yellowstone, where they were "mandatory" in all buildings. I went into the restaurant and stores without a mask and just ignored it. No problems. All the other sheeple were going along. Have a backbone, people. Masks have always been BS.

The analogy by #4 is a good one--actually the size differential of a virus particle to the porosity of the masks that are used is even more extreme than the analogy of the mosquito and chain link fence.

If masks were ever effective then why weren't the used ones treated as a biohazard and then properly disposed of and not just thrown away in the trash can, on the ground, etc?

The mask mandates have been ignored in my county after a few months of tyranny. The county sheriff notified the governor in writing that he and his department all took oaths to defend the US and NC constitutions. They would not enforce any decrees or orders from anyone without a valid law being passed. Additionally if the (leftist. My addition) governor tried to enforce these edicts with State Troopers his department would enforce all local laws on parking unlawful gatherings etc and provide zero assistance to any statewide efforts. He was unopposed in November’s election.

A few months back, stories of “suspicious” fires at food-production plants raged across the media. The narrative said the sites were being sabotaged to disrupt the food supply. And it was most likely wrong. But that doesn’t mean there is no effort on the part of Western elites to put the peasants on a strict diet. Most by now have seen reports that Dutch officials are closing as many as 3,000 farms in the Netherlands, the world’s second-largest exporter of agricultural products by value even though it’s only slightly larger than Maryland, to comply with crackpot European Union carbon dioxide emissions rules. It’s possible that

For 46 years, people speculated why Apple’s logo had a bite taken out of it. Some figured that it was to avoid confusion with a cherry. Others that it was a homage to Alan Turing. Or maybe a nod to Isaac Newton. (Apple later named one of its products the Newton.) But the company’s recent actions suggest another inspiration for its universally known logo. A Biblical one. And not in a good way. In early November, 9to5Mac reported that the upgrade to the iPhone’s operating system had a strange quirk – it restricted how people in China, and only those in China, could use its AirDrop feature, which lets iPhone users

With the holiday season upon us, the gift-giving and feasting seasons are also in full swing. But this year, Americans will find the prices they pay for holiday essentials higher than ever. Much of that is due to the soaring price of something we all take for granted: diesel fuel. Diesel fuel prices are up roughly 50% from last year, in large part due to fast-dwindling supplies, affecting the cost of everything, including food, transportation, manufactured goods, even gifts. Ships use diesel fuel. So do trucks and trains. Desperate farmers need diesel to fuel their tractors and other farm equipment.

All governments are bad – always necessary, often useful, occasionally better than most, rarely genuinely helpful to all, but still bad. From Athens to Zaire, from commune to kingdom, from democracy to dictatorship, when people come together to form a society there will always be those who take advantage, who prey, who scheme, who profit from their position. Every government ever has violated its own laws, flouted its own rules, changed long-standing practices for immediate gain, side-stepped its foundational concepts and strictures, dismissed societal codes of conduct, and ignored the basic ethical standards of humanity.

Why Does the GOP Elite Hate Its Own Base? 43 replies
Posted by GustoGrabber 12/9/2022 6:47:13 AM Post Reply
It is one of the most bitter and tragic ironies of our contemporary politics that the leadership of one of America’s two major political parties, the Republican Party, utterly despises that party’s very own voting base. The GOP elite’s scorn for its own voters has, at this point, been a long time in the making. The trend accelerated during the 2009-2011 rise of the Tea Party, a grassroots movement fueled by constitutionalism and anti-elite populism. The crustier elements of the Republican establishment ran as far away as possible from the Tea Party, and the 2012 presidential coronation of private equity plutocrat Mitt Romney effectively killed the movement.

The breakthrough in ancient DNA analysis pushes back the DNA record by 1m years to a time when the Arctic region was 11-19C warmer than the present day. The analysis reveals that the northern peninsula of Greenland, now a polar desert, once featured boreal forests of poplar and birch trees teeming with wildlife.
