The January 6 committee on Monday referred former president Donald Trump to the Department of Justice for prosecution on four charges related to his conduct leading up to and during the riot that occurred in the Capitol in the wake of his defeat in the 2020 presidential election. The referrals include obstruction of an official proceeding, conspiracy to defraud the U.S., making a false statement, and inciting an insurrection, the last of which could disqualify Trump from holding public office in the future. Billionaire Elon Musk shared his thoughts Tuesday night on the $1.7 trillion omnibus spending bill presented by Congress.
The Twitter chief put up a poll up on the social media site asking people if the bill should be approved and offered his own thoughts on it.
The poll asked: "Should Congress approve the $1.7 trillion omnibus spending bill?" As of early Wednesday morning, more than 1.6 million Twitter users voted and 75.4% said "no," while 24.6% said "yes."
Musk shared his own opinion on the matter writing, "I’m in favor of a small spending bill to keep things running, but common sense suggests that it be the least amount required through the holidays."
Despite surpassing her 2018 fundraising record, Stacey Abrams’s 2020 Georgia gubernatorial campaign fell into deep debt due to reckless expenditures, according to staffers and operatives who worked on the failed campaign.
The campaign still owes more than $1 million to vendors, Abrams campaign manager Lauren Groh-Wargo confirmed to Axios.
Some of the campaign’s lavish expenditures included the rental of a home near Piedmont Park in Atlanta, which Abrams envisioned as a “hype house” for TikTok videos but which was ultimately underutilized

Governor Greg Abbott deployed 400 Texas National Guard troops to El Paso in preparation of Title 42 ending and the current on-going crisis of illegal migrants flooding into the city. Thousands of illegal migrants crossed into El Paso last week and city resources are overwhelmed.
The increased presence of the Texas National Guard is to protect El Paso and stop illegal migrants from continuing to cross the border. Title 42 is scheduled to end on Wednesday. Chief Justice John Roberts issued an order to stay the lifting of Title 42 on Monday at the request of 19 Republican-led states.

As we reported, the latest Twitter files revealed that the FBI pushed Twitter and other social media to squash the Hunter Biden laptop story without any evidence that it was a foreign operation and that they arranged for Top Secret security clearances for executives of Twitter to see some of the information that they wanted them to pursue regarding election “threats.” That was a far cry from the disclaimer the FBI issued last week when the Twitter files started dropping. They said that they just provided information to Twitter and that whatever Twitter did with it was their own business.

The question in the title needs, I believe, critical examination. Why DOES the Left hate Trump so much?
The answer, as usual, can largely be found by analyzing history.
But first. Do they hate him because the average price of a gallon of gas in his administration was far lower than under Biden? Is it because inflation was low (around 2%) and trending downward? Is it that the USA was energy independent and didn’t need to beg our enemies for oil, deplete our strategic oil reserve or sell it to China? Is it because black and Hispanic unemployment was lower than at any time in history?

Stanford University has published an index of 'harmful language' that it wants to eliminate because the terms are 'ableist, ageist or racist' — including the word American — as it calls for US citizen to be used instead.
The University revealed the plan in May, and wants to remove the words from its IT systems and websites, with grandfather, brave and master are also on the list.
The Elimination of Harmful Language Initiative will also aim to educate people about the impact that 'racist, violent and biased' words have.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) said Monday he supports bringing Republican House business to a halt until as late as March next year if it means electing someone besides House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) to be speaker.
Gaetz, one of five outspoken opponents of McCarthy, told Charlie Kirk in an interview he would rather wait weeks and have “sort of a turbulent takeoff” than have McCarthy be speaker.
