Tillis Amnesty Deal Is Dead

Original Article

After outcry from conservatives and Republican lawmakers who weren't willing to betray the GOP's commitment to the rule of law, legal immigration, and border security, an attempt to grant mass amnesty to DACA beneficiaries is, according to reporting on Wednesday night, dead. Unsurprisingly, the fatally flawed legislative framework that was supposed to gin up support on both sides of the political aisle in the U.S. Senate did exactly the opposite as Republicans who limped across the midterm election finish line with barely a majority in the House and a loss in the Senate were not ready to hitch their names to a bill that was toxic among Republican voters.

Due to all the LIVE videos of massive invasion through what used to be the southern border of the USA, this proposal led bill by Tillis and Sinema was dead five minutes after it was announced. The pictures of hundreds of thousands pouring into our country speak louder than words.

I'm from North Carolina and I am so ashamed of this t**d representing my state. When I voted in the 2020 election I voted straight down the Republican ticket but left the box for Senate unchecked. Couldn't vote for a Democrat but after voting for McCain and Romney I just couldn't do it.

This is farce. Whatever the machinations and political jostling the border is still wide open, tens of millions of illegal immigrants are in the country with millions more to come, the DACA/DREAM Act are still viable and the American people are ignored even as they’re expected to underwrite all of it. This Lucy with the football passive-aggressive act has been going on since the mid-80’s and it is the way the mobsters in power want it. The game is to hold out the hope of secure borders until the point at which opponents can’t fight back, mass amnesty has been granted and the rule of law of the people, by the people and for the people has finally perished from the earth.

Twitter appears to be struggling. Users are leaving in the platform in droves. Key advertisers are disappearing. And the bills are piling up. Now, the company is setting its sights on new investors. According to a report from Semafor, Jared Birchall, the manager for Elon Musk's family office "reached out to potential investors this week." Birchall is apparently offering shares of Twitter to investors for the price of $54.20 a piece, Semafor reported. That's the same price that Musk paid with his $44 billion takeover of the company in October.

The National Institutes of Health is directing people to an absolutely absurd paper published in the journal Advances in Health Sciences Education. I have no idea how prominent the journal is, but I have a decent idea of the prominence of the NIH. A government agency under the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, they essentially determine medical education in this country. The NIH actually invited these authors to lay out their theories of medical education. The paper is scary as hell. Not quite Canadian medical murder scary, but very very scary nonetheless. Why so frightening? Well, our NIH is promoting the idea that it is time to dump

Substack writer Matt Taibbi dropped his latest installment of the "Twitter Files" on Friday that detailed the FBI's ties with the tech giant. "The #TwitterFiles are revealing more every day about how the government collects, analyzes, and flags your social media content. Twitter’s contact with the FBI was constant and pervasive, as if it were a subsidiary," Taibbi began the thread on Friday. "Between January 2020 and November 2022, there were over 150 emails between the FBI and former Twitter Trust and Safety chief Yoel Roth… a surprisingly high number are requests by the FBI for Twitter to take action on election misinformation, even involving joke tweets from low-follower accounts."

Federal judge says Biden can't yet end

A federal judge in Texas has put on hold for now the Biden administration's most recent attempt to end the so-called "Remain in Mexico" program. US District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk is pausing the termination of the program that was outlined in an October 2021 policy memo while litigation around that memo continues. The ruling marks a setback in President Joe Biden's effort to end the controversial Trump-era policy, which sends certain non-Mexican citizens who entered the US back to Mexico -- instead of detaining them or releasing them into the US -- while their immigration proceedings played out.

New York - Goldman Sachs Group Inc is planning to cut thousands of employees to navigate a difficult economic environment, a source familiar with the matter said. The layoffs are the latest sign that cuts are accelerating across Wall Street as dealmaking dries up. Investment banking revenues have plunged this year amid a slowdown in mergers and share offerings, marking a stark reversal from a blockbuster 2021 when bankers received big pay bumps. Goldman Sachs had 49,100 employees at the end of the third quarter after adding significant numbers of staff during the pandemic. Its headcount will remain above pre-pandemic levels

The Twitter Files reveal the suppression of the New York Post’s reporting on Biden family corruption at the behest of the deep state authorities with whom Twitter was collaborating. The absurd letter by 51 former intelligence officials reported by Natasha Bertrand and published by Politico was a key piece of the puzzle (to the extent it was a puzzle). Holman Jenkins takes it up in his Wall Street Journal column “Hunter Biden’s Laptop and 2020’s First Big Lie.”. He puts it this way: When 51 ex-intelligence officials said the laptop’s emergence “has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation,” they were lying.

Outgoing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi won re-election last month for the 18th time last month. She’s been serving in the House since assuming office in June, 1987. But will she continue to serve for another two years, completing the term of the 118th Congress? Don’t ask me. Don’t ask her, either — it’s not a question she wants to answer, apparently. Reporters who didn’t know that, if there were any, found out during a Thursday news conference when someone had the audacity to bring it up. “Will you commit to serving your full two-year term for the people of San Francisco?” a reporter asked. “What is this? What is this?” Pelosi responded.
