A FedEx contract driver in Texas was arrested Friday and accused of kidnapping and murder in the death of a 7-year-old girl who went missing two days earlier, officials said. The disappearance of Athena Strand, who vanished Wednesday from her home in Paradise in Wise County, prompted a large search with around 200 volunteers from the community. On Friday, authorities found her body southeast of the city of Boyd, a city around 11 miles away, Wise County Sheriff Lane Akin told reporters. “We do have a confession,” Akin said at a news conference Friday night.

Another story said the guy had no prior criminal record, was a musician, and former uber driver, lived near Lake Worth(though not in the city of Lake Worth, merely near the lake)..regardless....they have a confession, he led them to the body, This is Texas and they should return to "Tradition"...have a one day(one hour?) local trial, then immediately take him to a tree and hang him, cremate the remains and dump them in an 'undisclosed' location. Then put another noose in the tree..."We are ready for the next a22hole that dares...".

The ONLY potentially mitigating factor that would/could potentially avoid a death sentence MIGHT be....that she ran out into the road, he accidentally hit her with his truck...tried to drive her to get help, she died, and he then panicked.(I guess the driveway is 200yds long, the area is very rural)

Well you can safely bet that in Texas today they are greasing up the skids to efficiently execute the perpetrator as soon as the State Criminal Justice System will allow. That’s the only thing good that will come out of this terrible crime.

In anticipation of a GOP victory in the House in November, the White House has so far agreed to part ways with $265,000 of taxpayer dollars for salaries of staffers who will primarily fend off the coming attacks. And that number is expected to grow.

McHENRY, N.D. — According to court papers, it was not an accident but apparently a politically motivated attack. The fatal vehicle-pedestrian incident happened early Sunday morning, Sept. 18, in McHenry, North Dakota, about 120 miles northwest of Fargo and 54 miles north of Jamestown. Prosecutors allege moments before he was killed, 18-year-old Cayler Ellingson called his mom to come rescue him because 41-year-old Shannon Brandt was chasing him in the city of McHenry, where the street dance had just wrapped up. By the time she could get there, her son was dead.

An explosion was reported in downtown Nashville early Christmas morning that was felt for miles. Police and firefighters responded to an area near Second Avenue and Commerce Street about 6:45 a.m. Friday. Officials are on the scene trying to put out the fire and see if anyone is inside the building. There were initial reports of structural damage but no immediate information on whether any people were injured. Images and videos taken in the area showed flames and smoke — which could also be seen from miles away. Alarms inside several buildings were heard going off with water pouring into some buildings with structural damage and broken windows.

A smart friend of mine who is a moderate liberal asked why I was not recognizing Joe Biden’s victory. The friend made the case that Mr. Biden had gotten more votes, and historically we recognize the person with the most votes. Normally, we accept the outcome of elections just as we accept the outcomes of sporting events. So, my friend asked why was 2020 different? Having spent more than four years watching the left #Resist President Donald Trump and focus entirely on undoing and undermining the 2016 election, it took me several days to understand the depth of my own feelings.

No, McConnell said that "providing assistance for Ukrainians to defeat the Russians is the number one priority for the United States right now, according to most Republicans." Really?

The question in the title needs, I believe, critical examination. Why DOES the Left hate Trump so much? The answer, as usual, can largely be found by analyzing history. But first. Do they hate him because the average price of a gallon of gas in his administration was far lower than under Biden? Is it because inflation was low (around 2%) and trending downward? Is it that the USA was energy independent and didn’t need to beg our enemies for oil, deplete our strategic oil reserve or sell it to China? Is it because black and Hispanic unemployment was lower than at any time in history?

Add yet another government overreach to the “Things You Didn’t Think Could Happen in America” file: Democrats on the lame-duck House and Ways and Means Committee voted Tuesday to release six years of former President Donald Trump’s tax returns. Why? Because they um, uh—because they want to? But wait, you say to yourself, that’s not possible; your tax returns are private by federal law, and therefore protected from release. The Dems of course found a sleazy way around that. The tax code allows the committee to look at people’s tax returns to provide “oversight” of the Internal Revenue Service, and by writing an official report on their findings,
