Environmental groups are once again at odds with politicians and fishermen in New England in the wake of a decision by high-end retail giant Whole Foods to stop selling Maine lobster.
Whole Foods recently said that it will stop selling lobster from the Gulf of Maine at hundreds of its stores around the country.
The 'woke' company cited decisions by a pair of sustainability organizations to take away their endorsements of the U.S. lobster fishing industry.
The organizations, Marine Stewardship Council and Seafood Watch, both cited concerns about risks to rare North Atlantic right whales from fishing gear.
A Portland raincoat shop owner has permanently shuttered her store because of all the incessant crime in the far-left utopia.
Moreover, Marcy Landolfo has shuttered her Rains PDX shop in the most conspicuous way possible — with a large note on the store’s front door.

The Biden Administration is in hot water after the billions of dollars it sent to Ukraine in aid is no where to be found.
Republicans are warning the Biden White House that it will audit the administration if the $20 billion in military aid that was sent to Ukraine can’t be tracked down.
The audit would determine how much U.S. money is ending up in the wrong hands of a different country. The Biden Administration had previously attempted to find out where there money is, however, only a fraction of the aid was provided to the country.
Representative Ronny Jackson (R-TX) said on this week’s broadcast of FNC’s “Sunday Morning Futures” that House Republicans would impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
When asked if the GOP House is serious about impeaching Mayorkas, Jackson said, “Absolutely, we are going to start the process. He has to go. There’s been no accountability in the administration for anything that they have done, whether it’s been the economy, or COVID, or the disaster overseas the in Afghanistan or our border.”
“Mayorkas has got to go, so we’re going to start investigating him,” he continued. “We are going investigate every decision he’s made.

The Wellcome Collection says the Medicine Man display is ending after a 15-year run. On November 23rd a fire broke out in Urumqi’s Jixiang Yuan district in an apartment complex. Because of the Chinese COVID lockdown, it is claimed the doors to the building were locked from the outside; people could not escape. Jennifer Zeng has been documenting the story on Twitter.
Fire trucks were not permitted to get close enough to the building and the people locked inside could not escape.

The Biden administration on Saturday authorized Chevron Corp.’s joint venture to resume oil pumping in Venezuela.
“The Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) issued Venezuela General License (GL) 41, authorizing Chevron Corporation to resume limited natural resource extraction operations in Venezuela,” the Treasury Department said in a statement.
The goal of the authorization is to “alleviate the suffering of the Venezuelan people and support the restoration of democracy,” according to the statement.

Twice the number of Americans were carrying handguns daily in 2019 compared to 2015, according to a new study published this month.
Around 6,000 gun owners carried handguns every day in 2019, up from 3,000 in 2015, according to a study from the American Journal of Public Health published on Nov. 16.
The number of respondents to the online survey who said they had carried a gun in the last month also nearly doubled from 9 million to 16 million in 2015.
The study focuses solely on owners carrying a handgun on their person, not in their car.

In between watching the scandalous FTX crypto scam unfold and making all the Thanksgiving fixings, I’ve joined Twitter, which I’ve refused to participate in for years. One reason for my about-face on the social media site is that Elon Musk, the new owner, is creating a genuine open forum and he’s actively participating as a commentator in the most amusing way.
I prefer the Facebook technical setup but despise the way it (like the former Jack Dorsey-run Twitter) uses it to stifle real debate, regularly in one way or another blocking other than left-wing views and information. In time, if Musk achieves his goal, Facebook may reform itself as well
The Michigan Department of Education (MDOE) promoted resources for educators on how to start a “Gay Straight Alliance” (GSA) club in their schools, according to training materials.
The MDOE’s LGBTQ Students Project includes trainings and resources for LGBTQ students as well as educators on getting a GSA club “up and running,” according to the materials. For starting a GSA club, the department promoted a GSA resource list and brainstorming activity for educators to teach them how to advertise the club and insure student confidentiality.
And over Thanksgiving weekend residents around the park found the statue covered in splashes of red paint along with the words "COLONIZER" and "LAND BACK." The vandals also may have written "Dakota 38" in possible reference to 38 Dakota Sioux members executed on Lincoln’s order following the U.S.-Dakota war in 1862, the Chicago Tribune reported. The statue was one of many in the city examined as part of a commission set up after protests in 2020 that targeted statues of figures with controversial histories. Debate over former American presidents has proven especially contentious.
A new law being seriously considered by lawmakers in New York City could strip landlords of the ability to perform criminal background checks on prospective tenants.
The legislation, known as the "Fair Chance for Housing Act", is set to go before the New York City Council’s Committee on Civil Rights on December 8th and is being backed by at least 30 of the council’s 51 members, New York Post reported.
