George Floyd’s family may sue Kanye

George Floyd’s family has said it may sue Kanye West for suggesting Floyd’s brutal, caught-on-camera death under the knee of a murderous Minnesota cop was really a fentanyl overdose. “While one cannot defame the dead, the family of George Floyd is considering suit for Kanye’s false statements about the manner of his death,” their attorney, Lee Merritt, confirmed late Sunday. “Claiming Floyd died from fentanyl not the brutality established criminally and civilly undermines and diminishes the Floyd family’s fight.” Merritt said that “members of the Floyd family contacted me distraught over the reprehensible remarks” that Kanye shared in an hours-long interview on the “Drink Champs” podcast Sunday.

Comments:

Apparently the grieving family spent all of the money the taxpayers of MN gave them!!

The "family" apparently didn't bother to read the coroner's report, which is online. Ol' George was going south at the time of the incident. Karma killed him, more than anything else.

They should be careful. Kanye can afford a lot more justice than some random beat cop and they can't play the stupid race card on this one.

Go for it Floyds! The discovery phase will be absolutely fascinating and devastating. When Kanye wins he should sue the Floyd family for fraud and force them to pay back those million$ to the city and state.

They can't sue for libel or slander because you can't libel or slander the dead. They could go for some tort action like intentional infliction of emotional distress, but as others have pointed out, the discovery phase would establish that Floyd had enough illegal drugs in his system to kill a horse. I say go for it - they can always find a lawyer to take their money to file a specious lawsuit, and then Kanye can sue them to recover his legal fees.

I guess we have to say it again: George Floyd WAS NOT murdered, George Floyd DID NOT die of ASPHYXIATION, and George Floyd DID NOT die of an overdose. George Floyd died of EXCITED DELIRIUM SYNDROME. Do yourself a favor, folks and look up EXCITED DELIRIUM SYNDROME and especially look up the case of Jacob Bauer of Pleasanton California who died in EXACTLY the same way as George Floyd.

With all due respect for all the people commenting, and good comments, too, I might add... ...this could be great news for Chauvin. HIS trial was fraught with threats of massive violence and the jury was subjected to procedures that maximized fear. A defamation trial could undercut the lies that were told and accepted at the Chauvin trial.

Democratic pollster Fernand Amandi called Florida the "MAGA Republican capital of the confederacy" during the latest episode of MSNBC’s "The Cross Connection with Tiffany Cross." The frequent MSNBC guest offered his incendiary claim as part of a panel discussion about a recent Anti-Defamation League report detailing how many of America’s domestic extremists, including those who trespassed on Capitol grounds on January 6, are from Florida. The segment clearly aimed at demonizing the Republican stronghold state governed by possible 2024 contender Ron DeSantis, a strategy that host Tiffany Cross has routinely employed on her show. Cross really leaned into it this time, introducing the discussion by calling Florida a "haven of hate"

Biden spoke about the internet and newspapers during a fundraiser in Los Angeles on Thursday, appearing with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to help fund Democrats in the midterm elections. He appeared bewildered by the new media culture allowing everyone to see information for themselves. “Look what’s happened now. Everything is changing because technology has changed,” he said. “There are no editors anymore.

Youngkin wanted to implement this policy, I immediately texted the policy lead of that committee and said, this is how we’re going to push back,” Guzman, who is a social worker, said to ABC 7 News. The planned bill would expand the definition of child abuse to include parents who are not willing to “affirm” their child’s stated gender identity

If you ask President Joe Biden’s colleagues from his years as vice president, he is an “unguided missile” when under pressure, has “been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue” during the last 40 years, and allegedly has an underestimated ability to “f*** things up.” Those — shall we say — brutal character flaws mean that as commander-in-chief, he is a remarkably bad international negotiator and does not understand how the world works. In case you have not noticed, the entire globe is in disarray under Biden. The president’s lack of deal-making skills seems to be one of the main culprits behind the international disorder.

Programs for transgender advocacy aimed at children may have at last been a bridge too far for progressive activists. Government, establishment media and corporations and especially schools have made it clear they want to introduce inappropriate content to younger and younger kids. It’s an attempt to normalize the abnormal, quickly. This has activated parental protection instincts. It’s as if people suddenly recognized the dangerous top-down social engineering is coming for their kids too, if they don’t fight it now. Parents are taking action. On Wednesday, Southern California mother Brittany Mayer posted her confrontation with the Encinitas Union School District board on Twitter. The video of her insightful rant has since gone viral.
