A liberal North Carolina judge placed a prospective juror in jail for 24 hours for not wearing a mask in the courtroom.
Gregory Hahn, 47, along with 98 other candidates for jury orientation, showed up at the Harnett County courthouse on Monday. Most prospective jurors, including Hahn, were not wearing masks, he recalled.
“We were in [an assembly room] for about 20 to 30 minutes, shoulder-to-shoulder, with three-quarters of us not wearing masks,” Hahn told Tucker Carlson Tonight. “So the virus — if there was [a] virus out there – contaminated us anyway.”
Despite there being no mask mandate in the courthouse or within the state,

Just another prima donna judge with a Karen complex. Anyone who believes those masks have any effect at all is too stupid to be a judge.
Jury selection is easy. "Of course he's guilty. He was arrested wasn't he?"

People need to understand that Judge Charles Gilchrist is an evil puke. A Deep Swamp creature.

Warning Label on the mask box says it does not prevent transmission of infectious diseases. Show that to the judge.

That judge needs to serve 24 hours in prison. He can spend that time cleaning the toilets.

I wear a mask to make other people feel good. I realize that they are almost useless and provide almost no protection for me or others. It's not worth an agruement.

Re #6. I, OTOH, don't actually care if I make some stranger "feel comfortable". I never wear one and have been told a few times that I must wear one and just looked at the person and went on.

The judge is a total jerk. He could easily have re-assigned this prospective juror to another Superior Court Judge in the county that did not require a mask, but instead chose to be a jerk with a veteran at that.

Hey pssst, judge, the scam is over. The people know it and now it’s time for the govt to realize it. My daughter did what she thought was the right thing - isolate her whole family, get them all “vaxxed” etc. Now that her whole family, after getting the shot, got Covid, she has come to realize the damage that was done to her children and too society in general. The govt is making a laughing stock of themselves by prolonging the emergency act or whatever biden calls it. No one is listening. Many arms of the govt have lost all credibility, drs who drank the koolaid have lost all credibility. They will never get it back. They don’t deserve it.

#6, Whenever we bow to a government mandate we know is false and has been proven to provide no real protection, we give more power to the government to further oppress us. It is not our job to make others feel better in such a situation. Individuals should be encouraged to question the efficacy of government mandates. Not only are masks ineffective, they are harmful. The more we submit, the more government will demand of us. God bless you for your kind heart but at this point in the politicization of health care by the medical community in this and many other areas, I just cannot submit because they have not been straight with the American people. Making medical decisions based upon political ideology is never good and I cannot be a part of it.

#6 Things not being worth an argument is how we let Fauci and Gates wreck our country.
Do you carry on a conversation with an invisible person to make others feel good?
Do you wear a pink hat in a parade to make others feel good?
Do you send your child to a drag queen shows at the library to make others feel good?
Did you take your kids to get a shot that might affect fertility to make others feel good?
This veteran standing up to government tyranny is a great thing.
I walked out of stores that demanded I wear a mask.
I changed doctors when I found one with common sense.
Not complying with government tyranny is crucial for our survival as a free nation.

Whether Judge Gilchrist was appointed or elected to the bench, he can be replaced, either by impeachment and removal, or by defeating him in the next election. The bad judge made a public example of Mr. Hahn; now let the people of North Carolina make an example of Gilchrist and defrock him.

#6, it's a free country (at least for a little longer), so you can do as you like. But-- you're contributing to tyranny.

Apologies for second post. Looked up how this judge got on the bench-- he was appointed in 2012, so I'm not sure where he is in what is the regular elected 8-year-term cycle -- hope North Carolinians will take note:

#7 is correct. The judge should be removed and the county sued for not letting the guy make a phone call. Fox News was all over this story yesterday.
