Biden To Gig Workers: Drop Dead

Original Article

Crime will be fresh on the minds of voters during November’s midterm elections. But there is no greater robbery than that being planned by the Biden administration. What it’s proposing is a government-backed mugging. In essence, the White House wants to outlaw gig work in America. No, it’s not saying so outright. The Biden Labor Department obscures that harsh reality with words meant to deceive. Labor Secretary Marty Walsh says the department’s proposal is needed to safeguard “our nation’s most vulnerable workers,” and ensure they are not deprived “of their federal labor protections.”

There is no aspect of our lives that democrats don’t want to control. They are totalitarians and want to impose their will on everyone else and the are determined to make it happen. How did such a freedom loving country produce such utter tyrants? Who in their right mind would choose oppression over tyranny? Wait, I believe I answered my own question. These people are truly insane.

A person who referees for youth or adult recreation teams will be”employed” by what entity? The home team, the individual school districts, the referee assignor? Can you imagine said referee getting 10 or 15 or more different W2s each year? Employer tax IDs? Admin costs of setting, tracking and maintaining said info by these “employers?” Ridiculous.

As the article points out, so-called Gig workers value their independence and do not want to work 'for the man'. When you need more money you work your tail off for a while. When you want time off, you just shut off the alarm clock and sleep in.

Since this is a rule from a federal agency that would have a MAJOR impact, I suspect the recent SCOTUS ruling concerning the limitation of federal agency powers to make such changes without Congressional action may come into play. It would most certainly be challenged in court.

Today's Federal Government and especially this Administration and Democrat led Congress have no resemblance to anything we have ever known in American history. We have competing forces that are Communist/Bolshevik and Nazi, and Fascist (Corporatism), and Neocons. The American individual has been eliminated and is viewed as only a commodity. Those living in the past hoping that things will change have two fundamental flaws in their thinking. First they believe Elections matter at this stage and Second they believe a Knight is shining armor on a white steed will save us.

I live in Virginia and heard on local talk radio this morning about some survey that shows Gov Youngkin more popular with Democrats here in VA than Biden - something like %50+ for Youngkin vs. %30+ for Biden. But then the news announcer said that same Dems who took the survey would still vote for an unnamed Democrat in a generic Congressional race against an unnamed Republican. Idiots.

I hate the term “rule of law.” It is a stupid canard that cheapens the purpose of law.- to protect individual rights of life, liberty, and property. We now suffer the soft tyranny of “lawfare.” That is, we are subjugated through the use of legislation that continuously destroys our individual rights. This article sums up this legal tyranny quite well. It is good that people have awakened to their plight in these times of globalist tyranny. The lawfare that is being waged against us is a quiet death for our liberty. We look at the shiny thing now - inflation, Ukraine, racial division - while THEY continue to quietly gut the Constitution, thus We the People. Thomas Jefferson said that people are apt to suffer the ills they have become accustomed to rather than change. But, he also recognized that there comes a time when change must be made in order to secure individual liberty. We are at the threshold of that time.

I came here to say what 7 said. This is all about unions getting more cash to give to the DNC. It is also about directly controlling the gig workers so cash payments and other off the books work becomes impossible and therefore more easily tracked and taxed and further regulated. That regulation and tax regime will of course require hiring more government workers who are also in a union (!!!!) and thus the circle is complete.

We use a local maid service. Not incorporated. Just a (legal) immigrant family. Does that mean I have to actually employ them, pay SS tax, insurance benefits, take out withholding tax, etc.? They work for several different families here. It would be easier just to fire them and use a house cleaning corporation. I won't of course, they have become almost part of our family over the last thirty years. The Democrat Party is quickly destroying this country.

You know things are bad when even the mainstream press is admitting that the latest inflation numbers “soared far above expectations last month” and that this is “wiping out pay gains.” But, according to President Joe Biden, Thursday’s report on inflation “shows some progress in the fight against higher prices.” What progress? Inflation was up 8.2% in September, compared with the year before. And that’s on top of last September’s 6.2% increase. Here’s another way to look at it. In the 21 months since Biden took office, the Consumer Price Index has shot up 13.5%. That compares with 4% in the first 21 months of the Trump administration. (See the chart below.)

When President Biden announced he was pardoning those charged under federal law with possession of marijuana, he added that he’s looking into “how marijuana is scheduled under federal law,” which to many meant he’s moving toward decriminalizing. “Too many lives have been upended because of our failed approach to marijuana.” Biden is right about lives being upended because of the federal government’s current approach to pot, and that putting marijuana in the same category as heroin makes little sense. But anyone pushing for legalized marijuana should look at what’s going on in California before cheering this on.

Either having forgotten or maybe entirely unaware of why the colonies fought for independence, Joe Biden said some years ago that paying higher taxes was “patriotic.” Now as president, Biden wants to enforce his version of patriotism by siccing the IRS on the country. If only we could declare our independence from politicians so ravenous for other people’s money that they’ll say and do anything. Among the many shameful and damnable provisions of the Inflation Reduction Act passed in August by the Democrats is an extra $80 billion for the IRS. That’s more than six times its current annual budget, and will boost the agency’s enforcement funding by 69%

Concerns over President Joe Biden’s recent very public displays of possibly age-related mental impairments have jumped among voters since mid-summer, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows. And these worries aren’t partisan, with a majority of all political groups, including Democrats, now expressing concern. In early August, we asked Americans: “Some people are concerned about President Biden’s mental health. How concerned are you about President Biden’s mental health?” At the time, a number of public displays of unsteadiness, confusion, and verbal gaffes seen in the media suggested to many that the nation’s commander-in-chief’s mental acuity was questionable.

There’s a reason the right to free speech is enshrined in the First Amendment. The founders had a deep understanding of human nature, and they knew that those in power would, if unencumbered, use their authority to silence the opposition. What the founders couldn’t have foreseen was that Big Tech companies would be so eager to aid and abet government censorship schemes. Long before the Biden administration’s “Disinformation Governance Board” made its short-lived appearance on the public stage, bureaucrats in the bowels of the Department of Homeland Security had been busy trying to figure out how to stop the spread of dangerous “disinformation.”

Almost 1,500 years ago. The foundation of the global warming obsession on the left is largely based on U.N. predictions

That number will no doubt rise, but it is far short of the deadliest, and might be one of the least deadly hurricanes to hit that hurricane-prone state. The deadliest record was set in
