The day after Hurricane Ian made landfall in Florida, President Joe Biden issued his forecast: “This could be the deadliest hurricane in Florida’s history.” Was he hoping it would be? Or is he just ignorant of the history of hurricanes? “The numbers are still unclear,” Biden said, “but we’re hearing early reports of what could be substantial loss of life.” So far, the death toll in Florida from Ian is a little more than 20. That number will no doubt rise, but it is far short of the deadliest, and might be one of the least deadly hurricanes to hit that hurricane-prone state. The deadliest record was set in

This all started with the Lee County Sheriffs Good Morning America interview (That is democrat Senate candidate Val Demings district). Later Stephanopolis came back and the sheriff said he could not confirm any of those deaths. Biden takes any lie and will repeat until he’s out of office. You know the Charlottesville torches and bad people hoax…

FTA: '..why aren’t we seeing the catastrophic loss of life that Biden expected? Simple. We are far better able to deal with massive storms than we were 100 or even 60 years ago.' I would ad the Internal Combustion Engine. They will run when your neighbors EV can't charge because the power is out. Imagine miles of road congestion during an evacuation because a few dozen Teslas ran out of juice. With an ICE, you just put a jug in the trunk and keep going.

As his little lesbian press secretary would say, "it's ar the top of his mind." Biden has probably been in planning meetings or on phone calls with top Democrats on how to win elections by demonizing Republicans during the aftermath of this hurricane. The top Dems (not talking about local workers, just the Marc Elias and Podesta types) were hoping for massive loss of life with bodies washed into the streets, like the 1900 hurricane in Galveston. They blamed Bush #41 for Andrew amd Bush #43 for Katrina. Based on Kamala's statement, they no doubt have quick response media teams in place to highlight every little instance where a white person is standing in line ahead of a black person to get a new supply of water and ice being issued on a first-come-first-serve basis.

When some idiot sheriff mouthed of about "hundreds of deaths" I mentioned to my wife that I would guess things would shake out to around 20-30 deaths in Florida due to the storm. I stand by that estimate. Joe has always been an idiot with a big mouth, this is just the most recent example.

My favorite part of the Katrina coverage was Geraldo Rivera returning, ech day, to the same bridge, interviewing the same people 'who couldn't get out They should have followed Geraldo out each day.. My second favorite part of Katrina is when the cameras in the low lying black ward (9th?) showed driveways with boats on trailers, strapped to the trailers, turned upsde down by the raging waters. (I have a boat tied down to a trailer, in my driveway. If there was a flood, I would get into the boat, untie it from the trailer, and float away. That option seemed not to occur to residents of New Orleans.) My third favorite part of Katrina had to do with the fleet of school buses. They were on dry land, and coulkd have evacuated thousands of people but were not used, ecentually flooded. Why weren't they used? Mayor Nagin said, 'because we didn't have drivers with the proper commerical drivers licenses. One more thing - medical professionals from around the U.S. volunteered to go to New Orleans, were directed to Atlanta by the federal governement, assembled there, and were told by the federal government that before they could go to New Orleans, they had to undergo 48 hours of sexual harassment training. Most went home.

Under Bidenomics, A ‘Soft Landing’

The Democratic Party’s faithful are whistling past the graveyard, hoping with all their might we’ll avoid an economic slide. As a matter of general economics, we’re already in a recession. And it looks like things will soon get worse, not better. “We hope we can have what they say, ‘a soft landing,’ a transition to a place where we don’t lose the gains that I ran to make in the first place for middle-class folks, being able to generate good-paying jobs and — expansion,” President Joe Biden told CBS’ 60 Minutes last month. Good luck with that, Mr. President. Even members of your own party think it’s hogwash.

There’s a reason the right to free speech is enshrined in the First Amendment. The founders had a deep understanding of human nature, and they knew that those in power would, if unencumbered, use their authority to silence the opposition. What the founders couldn’t have foreseen was that Big Tech companies would be so eager to aid and abet government censorship schemes. Long before the Biden administration’s “Disinformation Governance Board” made its short-lived appearance on the public stage, bureaucrats in the bowels of the Department of Homeland Security had been busy trying to figure out how to stop the spread of dangerous “disinformation.”

Earth’s climate is always changing. But despite the warming hysterics’ wild claims, it’s not changing at an alarming rate. Remember, when they cite United Nations reports warning of soaring temperatures and rising sea levels, the projections cover many decades, not just a few years. Of course there was a moment when the climate did change rapidly. It was so long ago, though, none of us can remember it. Yet it happened. Many centuries before the first oil well was drilled. Almost 1,500 years ago. The foundation of the global warming obsession on the left is largely based on U.N. predictions

One standard of justice for one group, but another for a different group? Even though that sounds distinctly un-American, many voters believe that’s happening today in America’s courts and legal venues. And it seems to be getting worse, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll suggests. In June, a Golden/TIPP Poll (TIPP is Issues & Insights’ polling partner) asked Americans if “There is a two-tiered system of justice in America depending on your political affiliation and ideology?” At the time, a sizable majority of 63% agreed, either “strongly” (28%) or “somewhat” (35%), with that statement. Only 17% disagreed, while 21% said they were “not sure.” But something intervened

Did the Aug. 8 raid on former President Donald Trump’s Florida home damage his electoral chances for 2024 and those of the Republican Party in the upcoming midterm elections? Data from the recent I&I/TIPP Poll suggest the answer is no. First of all, comparison data from the I&I/TIPP Polls (one taken of 1,182 registered voters online from August 2-4, the other of 1,145 voters from September 7-9) show that those who thought the FBI raid on Trump’s Mar-A-Lago estate would badly tarnish his image in the public eye and damage his future prospects were likely wrong.
