Why The Right Should Choose Trump Over DeSantis

DeSantis is a product of the RINO packaging machine. They're publishing the set piece pix of the DeSantis family all crowded on the sofa reading a picture book or some such drivel. DeSantis is OK, but he isn't fully genuine. Only DJT is above all this political machination. He is his own man and doesn't march to the beat of anyone else's drum. DeSantis is a packaged politician. Somebody owns him, we just don't know who. Now that the enemies have been identified, I hope sincerely that with a supermajority in both houses, he can finally wrestle these dragons back into their cages. The rot in our government is deeper than a swamp. The '20 election was stolen by every department of the government right down to the stinkin' Post Office. The FBI, CIA, CDC,FDA, DOE, DOJ, every last one of these organizations must be cleaned out or erased from the table of organization. DeSantis isn't up to it, Trump is.

The writer is not persuasive as to why Donald Trump is the one for 2024. On the Covid point he is way off base. President Trump believed, as did most people and politicians, that the virus was far more deadly than it was. He followed the advice of a medical cabal that has long ago been discredited. He admonished the governor of Georgia for opening up that state too quickly. He didn't stand firm in backing up his contention that we should go back to normal after Easter 2020. I don't blame him for getting Covid wrong as he believed the "experts" knew what they were doing. He played it safe and if the Covid infections had been as dire as the "experts" proclaimed his caution would have been justified. DeSantis also believed the experts but after a point, and long before Trump came around, he opened Florida up for business. On this issue DeSantis gets credit while Trump gets bad reviews. I won't bother to comment on Trump's great triumph of getting the vaccines ready for distribution in less than a year. I still think that is a great accomplishment but as we have found out that these vaccines aren't what Trump and the experts said they were. No doubt he gets a minus mark on Covid. DeSantis is hardly a product of the RINO packaging machine. If "somebody owns him" I would be quite interested in hearing who that "somebody" is. We know that DeSantis is a better communicator that Trump. He follows through better than Trump. He fights the media better than Trump did. He is focused on the future and Trump just can't seem to let go of 2020. That's a big problem. Trump is a baby boomer, as am I, and I think the country has had quite enough of them. In the end, I will happily vote for either of them in 2024.

I like both of them. The question isn't who would govern better, or who is smarter, or who is more honest, or who is younger vs. older, or who is a more true conservative. The question is, who is more likely to win enough votes across the board to be elected? President Trump has name recognition, but much of it is negative. Blame him, blame the MSM, blame the dems. But that negative factor turns off a lot of potential voters. I like that he's a rare Republican who fights back, unlike Dubya, for example. But often he's so bellicose and belligerent about it, he hurts his image. Many, many of his best ideas came from his regular private telephone calls from Rush Limbaugh. Rush was President Trump's "kitchen cabinet" more or less. I'm dismayed that Rush is gone. I'm keeping my options open for now. As Rush would say, "A lot can happen in the next two years that could make all the difference."

Here's the test. Doug Mastriano, Republican candidate for PA governor, is the Trumpiest candidate on the ballot. So Trumpy his Democrat opponent financed his campaign. Dr. Oz 's major weak point is the fact that he was Trump's primary candidate. He squeaked out a victory over an opponent who wasn't Trumpy enough and who undermined him with attack ads that still foster reluctant conservative support, threatening to put an incoherent sweatsuit wearing boob in as a senator. Think PA is still Trump country? We'll know on 11/9.

I am dumbfounded how quickly some people want to kick to the curb the one guy who took on the establishment in Washington and the entire swamp at great expense to himself. More impressive is the fact that he did it while under massive attacks everyday from every angle, his family, his personality, his policies, everything and everyone around him took a beating and yet he still prevailed and succeeded like no other President in modern history. Reagan, at least, had some friends in Washington. Everyone there was out to get Trump from day one and the media was relentless in their attacks. I understand people have reservations about Trump running again. However, I think he has more going for him than DeSantis even though he is very impressive. He will not be bought. He will not quit. We know his work ethic. We know he can get things done and these are big things that took intelligence, cunning, working the art of the deal, and the most important aspect of these victories was that he always had the country’s best interests at heart. Does he have his flaws? Certainly, and they are are ones I believe he could work on. These are not due to incompetency but personality quirks so to speak. He is a New Yorker in every sense of the word. He is brash and bold, he says exactly what he thinks and sometimes not so artfully. However, I believe his pros far outnumber his cons. Give me a guy who will speak the unvarnished truth and do what he says any day rather than one who gives me a politicized version because he knows he won’t follow through. Troubled times require bold leaders and we are in a very dangerous position right now. We have a party that has gone rogue and has rejected out founding principles in order to totally transform this country. The transformation process we are going through now should convince anyone that we are on the wrong track and the destination will be a disaster. So-called American socialism is bearing down on us like a runaway freight train and we are going to need someone who we know is not afraid of what the media, left and Rinos will say or do but is totally focused on what is best for this country and its people. I know that guy is Donald Trump. I do not have complete confidence that DeSantis, as impressive as he is, is that man. He very well may be, but we cannot hope and wish he is at this time in history. We have to know for sure that the guy who sits behind the Resolute Desk is ready, willing and able to fight for this country like no other President in the history of the country. Trump/DeSantis would be my dream team. DeSantis can work hard to get things done while Trump sets the agenda. If DeSantis can put aside his ego for four years, he would be a shoe in for 2028. Anyone who partners with Trump can turn this nightmare into a dream, and I believe these two could do it. DeSantis would have four years of invaluable experience, and then have eight years to continue the restoration of this country and they both would go down in history as presidential giants. If Trump runs, he has my support. If he does not, then it’s DeSantis but with less confidence. I am just not sure how tightly he is connected to the establishment but if he is, that would be a problem for me.

A half-assed article, IMO. The writer assumes (as do some posters here) that DJT's 2016 electoral lightening-in-a-bottle can be recaptured, and that Gov..DeSantis has presidential aspirations for 2024. Wrong on both counts (again, IMO). Poster # 11 comes closest to the truth here.

Who else but Donald Trump has the incentive to clean up the Deep State and punish the many evil players who stole his second term from him and continue to attemp to ruin his reputation? Donald Trump did more in four years than DeSantis ever could but I would vote for DeSantis sometime in the future after witnessing his performance in Florida. MAGA

You can call me a Trump cultist, Donald Trump bootlicker, White Nationalist in Blackface, an election denier etc. all you want. I don't care and will tell you in a less than diplomatic way to go pound sand. I will never waver from my support of President Donald John Trump. Why do you ask? Because ever since the 90s I read and studied the man. I knew the minute he came down that escalator that the whole Republican primary was never going to be the same. Everyone on the left including the clowns in the media though that he was a joke who could be beaten by the corrupt Clinton Machine. I knew as did my family and friends who are Conservative that the only one of the candidates who could take on the PIAPS would be DJT. Not Cruz, Jindal, Perry, Carson or Rubio. Certainly not Kasich, Christie, Bush, Fiorina or Santorum. PDJT was shown to have the guts, financial independence, and ability to connect with the common man and talk to us about our issues at the time. Even with all of the evil forces against him he won and became 45. He went on the do great things for We the People but of course we didn't learn about in in the fake news media because like their democrat friends in our government they had the agenda to obstruct PDJT at every turn. Every little thing was blown out of proportion. Like PDJT getting two scopes of ice cream while kids got one. Now we have Biden stuffing his pie whole with ice cream and not a peep from the witch at CBS. Along with RINO putzes like McCain, McConnell, Graham, Ryan, Romney Kasich and Christie who helped in that effort. An effort that lead to him being impeached twice and cheated out of the 2020 Election. Which sadly lead to the election of the worst man to ever hold the office of President of the United States. Dumbo Joe makes Fillmore, Taft, Hoover, A. Johnson, Pierce, Buchannan, Wilson, Carter and Obama seem like geniuses. I like DeSantis because he's the best governor in the country in one who has deranged leftists like Newsome, Whitmer, Hochul, Inslee, Wolf, Brown and Cooper. His time will come but as I explained in my estimation Donald John Trump is best to take on the idiot known as Joe Biden.

During the current Ukrainian war, the media has created a mythology that the Left was tough on Vladimir Putin’s Russia. And thus, now it simply continues its hard-nosed efforts in Ukraine. But nothing could be further from the truth. Aside from Biden’s original panic of evacuating American diplomatic personnel from Kyiv, offering a ride out of Ukraine for the Zelenskyy government that would have effectively collapsed his nation’s resistance, and hesitation in selling Ukraine offensive weapons, there is also a prior legacy that had done a great deal of harm. Indeed, many of America’s current difficulties in Ukraine originate from the Obama-Biden Administration’s former disastrous policies toward Russia birthed between 2009-2016.
