PayPal stock tumbled Monday after reports circulated that the company’s updated acceptable use policy would fine users $2500 for spreading “misinformation.” Shares of the online payments system operator were trading 5.74 percent lower at $84.99 as of noon on Monday. On Sunday, it was reported that PayPal changed the language of the restricted activity section on its AUP to include a clause threatening to impose a $2500 penalty “debited directly from your PayPal account” for an expanded list of prohibited activities. The new conditions were supposed to launch effective November 3, the Daily Wire first reported. Changes included a ban on “the sending, posting, or publication of any messages, content, or materials”

What legal right do they have to simply "fine" one of their clients and effectively steal $2,500 from them for something that has absolutely nothing to do with the service being rendered? These idiots need to be sued for stupidity.

I was planning to quit paypal today but got an email for donating to a charity on their list lately. It was a pet shelter. I was able to set my charity to the Texas State Rifle Association Foundation, so I did that. I am curious how long it is before they figure out what that is. I know they are extremely against citizens being able to protect themselves.

Report: Biden Tried to Persuade Saudis

A report in today’s Wall Street Journal depicts Joe Biden’s Keystone Kops administration in action: Days before a major oil-production cut by OPEC and its Russia-led allies, U.S. officials called their counterparts in Saudi Arabia and other big Gulf producers with an urgent appeal—delay the decision for another month, according to people familiar with the talks. The answer: a resounding no. *** Saudi officials dismissed the requests, which they viewed as a political gambit by the Biden administration to avoid bad news ahead of the U.S. midterm elections, on which control of Congress hangs.

Last week, Saudi Arabia announced, in conjunction with OPEC+, that it would be cutting oil production in the face of dropping prices. That decision came in spite of the Biden White House’s lobbying in favor of increased production, which included a sycophantic visit by President Joe Biden to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. In response to the Saudi announcement, the White House quickly announced that the United States would be reevaluating its relationship with the Kingdom. Meanwhile, the White House announced that it would be “preparing to scale down sanctions” on Venezuela’s tyrannical regime, according to The Wall Street Journal. The goal: increased oil production from the Marxist dictatorship

More millennials are attending church now than before the Chinese coronavirus pandemic struck, a report from Christianity Today’s October issue found. Churches all across the country famously closed down during much of the pandemic, creating tension in some communities that wanted to continue to meet regardless of local or state rules. But by now most Americans recognize that the pandemic is over. Even President Joe Biden made that admission last month.  There has been an uptick of Americans returning to normal activities, showing the fundamental desire of Americans to return to a state of pre-pandemic normalcy.

So what’s your message to Democrats who like you, who like what you’ve done but are concerned about your age and the demands of the job?” Biden said, “They’re concerned whether or not I can get anything done. Asked by Tapper whether he thought Putin would actually use nuclear weapons, Biden said, “I don’t think he will. Dimon said the Biden administration dropped the ball by not significantly boosting output at the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which has roiled energy markets. “We should have gotten that right starting in March,” according to Dimon. “In my view, America should have been pumping more oil and gas and it should have been supported.”

The very short answer, as revealed in this story published yesterday by the NY Times, is politics. The attempt to build the first bullet train in the US between San Francisco and Los Angeles almost immediately turned into a boondoggle thanks to decisions that made no sense in terms of efficiency or ridership but only in terms of satisfying powerful politicians. The design for the nation’s most ambitious infrastructure project was never based on the easiest or most direct route. Instead, the train’s path out of Los Angeles was diverted across a second mountain range to the rapidly growing suburbs of the Mojave Desert
