Education Secretary Miguel Cardona is fixated on equity-based education and seems to be ignoring academic priorities as students nationwide are experiencing a “catastrophic” decline in literacy which will have severe consequences down the line.
Learning advocates and parents are slamming President Biden’s education secretary for not even bothering to mention academics in a statement of priorities in connection with the Department of Education’s annual report card, according to Fox News. It shockingly shows the largest score drop in reading among 9-year-old students since 1990.
The DOE has been dumping hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars into woke, equity-focused programs and grants

"Equity" is systemic racism against whites and asians.
But, they WANT kids to be ignorant so they won't challenge the tyranny that is coming.

We don't need a DOE. It is insane to think every single school district should use the same playbook. Since its creation, public school education has declined and kids are simply pushed through the system until they are old enough to leave it.

Understand this - - and never forget it - - - -
Communists don't educate - - they indoctrinate.
So - - no more government owned, operated, or subsidized schools - - EVER!

Destruction of the nuclear family (mom dad and kids) by liberal policies and lifestyle is the primary reason. Money can never fix work ethic (study practices) or the inattentive parent problem. Have you noticed how almost every young mother you see on the street, the mall, the market has their face buried in their phone thumbs flying on their keyboard responding to some useless message or Facebook post? Homework is probably interrupted by Netflix, or parents playing games or chatting. Some homes are challenged by single parent overload or kids left to learn on their own.

The kids are following in their single-parent, gimmedat tradition. It amazes me that so many think that a "good" life is a hereditary right, and just sit back to enjoy it compliments of their parent(s). Born on third base thinking they hit a triple.

At the end of the day, a school is only as good as the students that enroll in it. Ultimately, student and school success have little (nothing) to do with the schools themselves and everything to do with the families from where the students originate. Money has never been, nor will it ever be, the solution to public education. The family – not the school system – is the only path forward in maintaining the greatest society and country in the world.

If you're someone who hates America and wants there to be nothing exceptional about its culture, this is good news. Start with the young. Turn the education system upside down. Get rid of God. Get rid of the classics. Let everyone get a trophy. Nothing on merit alone. Get rid of the organic chemistry teacher because his course is "too hard". No more advanced placement courses. Don't teach phonics, or children might be able to "sound out" words on their own. Overwhelm the schools with so many new students that teachers spend all their time keeping order, and the bright kids' gifts are wasted. Never teach American History in a positive light. Continue to allow the teachers' unions be so powerful that no mediocre or incompetent teacher can be fired. And on and on. I think this all is coming from some Communist playbook. Someone's goal is to dumb down our children, but parents are awake to it now (not woke) and pulling their children out of the public schools and home schooling them or putting them in religious schools they can trust.

9th graders are one thing. How about medical schools?
I do not want my physician to be a graduate of a "health equity and other social justice" medical school.
"Following the recruitment of its faculty lead, Dr. Italo Brown, its committee has been tasked with a comprehensive review of the Stanford Medical School Curriculum to identify strengths and gaps in addressing anti-racist education, health equity and other social justice issues for both our clerkship and pre-clerkship curricula. Following the review, Dr. Brown spearheaded the implementation of important reforms to the existing medical school curriculum by working with course directors, faculty, students and staff to revise the existing educational materials."

I don't think democrats are results-driven. Their results are always bad. Just being 'in charge' is all they are looking for.

This might be a good time to reread Bradbury's "Fahrenheit 451". In a dystopian future, reading was so subversive that the state had squads of "firemen", not to put out fires but rather to burn books. State-sponsored censorship... sound familiar? Today it's done much more cleanly: the administration contacts sympathetic media to suppress certain stories, certain information, that would be detrimental to their narrative. Opponents are "disappeared", effectively banned from public speech, from prominent social media platforms. The squads of firemen are now called "fact checkers". Same job, less air pollution.
We are living multiple dystopian futures simultaneously!

All great comments. We know the problem and have the solution. We just have to get the democrats out of the way. To all those woke parents out there and there are many, wake up! You are doing a horrific disservice to your children. Everything the culture is telling you is a lie. You are not smarter and hipper for believing it. You are just a fool longing to be accepted by the worst the country has to offer and your children will suffer for it.

Regarding poster No. 8; It is also the quality of the teachers. If the teachers can't teach then what are they getting paid for???
I vaguely remember an episode of 60 Minutes from a long time ago where they had a report on a History Teacher from Harvard, (that was so long ago that Harvard was a great place to send your kids.). He came into the class and jumped up on the platform dressed in a black teacher's garb and proceeded to be entertaining and convincing, making the Subject of History sound very interesting. I wished I had had a History teacher like that. Maybe then I would have been interested in History but I now realize that I was shortchanged in History class.

Instead of addressing the real reason for their failure, which is a minority subculture that does not value education or hard work, he provides those subcultures with excuses for their children's failure by blaming others. It's somehow MY fault that your kid goes to school without a sandwich and doesn't do his homework at night. And it will somehow be my fault when that kid grows and gets fired because he never shows up to work on time.
On the other hand, perhaps he gets it perfectly well, and is knowingly hobbling black kids so Hispanic kids will have an easier time competing with them for jobs?

Equity like equality can't be bought, mandated, or forced into existence, you can't drag people up only down, this is just more proof.
