WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden, a self-described “car guy,″ often promises to lead by example by moving swiftly to convert the sprawling U.S. government fleet to zero-emission electric vehicles. But efforts have lagged in helping meet his ambitious climate goals by eliminating gas-powered vehicles from the federal fleet. (Snip) The White House frequently describes the 2027 timeline as on track. But the General Services Administration, the agency that purchases two-thirds of the 656,000-vehicle federal fleet, says there are no guarantees. Comments:

Buried in the story - just 1,799 government vehicles are 'zero emission' out of 650,000. Government agencies are in no hurry to get them.

If the "car guy" really wants to lead by example, then start with the Presidential limo and the fleet of armored SUV's that escort it around the world.

The entire wasteful Green industry does not offer any real tangible benefits to humanity, other than to Green investors; consequently, undermine it until it all collapses. Get rid of it! Renewable energy is not reliable energy. Get rid of it all. Make Greta Thunberg, Al Gore, and Klaus Schwab's day. Solar and wind won't do the job; they are useful in small installations off the grid, but will never take the place of coal, oil, and nuclear. Stop pretending that it will suffice.

It will be a slow start followed by a complete collapse when the feds find they can't get anything done while they are waiting in line for their cars to charge, not that they are johnny on the spot in getting things done now. As a private business, the federal government agencies and the post office would have gone bankrupt decades ago.

When Dick Thoenburgh was governor of Pennsylvania, the Volkswagen Rabbit, manufactured here, was dying a self inflicted death. It was just a terrible automobile, with a bad deisel engine, a body that rusted out on a prediction of rain, and shabby materials used in its construction. (Volkswagen had received hundreds of millions of dollars, plus 10 year rax abatements from former governor Shafer, to locate in Pennsylvania.. And when the 10 years was up, VW was gone.) Governor Thornburgh, as a way to keep VW alive in Pennsylvania, proposed that all State cars should be VW Rabbits only. He was shouted down by everyone who had to drive a State car. And when Thornburgh gave up on his silly proposal, VW went to South America or Mexico.

It will be costly but his goal can be met. They can purchase and park half as many electric vehicles as the count of vehicles in their current fleet. Then mark the goal achieved but continue to do all their work with the existing gasoline vehicles.

Do they have an extra 'battery' somewhere or does he have to wait for a few hours until the one in the car or plane has been reloaded!? Reality is not something the left knows how to deal with. I’d love to see the list of government employees getting kicked back by the EV industry. I’m sure Hunter’s at the top of the list. Why else would they be pushing impractical expensive vehicles that run on the same fossil fuels they think they’re getting rid of?

Russia is facing the prospect of another raft of sanctions on prominent individuals and sectors of the economy after it oversaw a series of sham referendums in four Russian-occupied parts of Ukraine, and is expected to annex those regions imminently. Condemned by Ukraine and its Western allies, the votes showed a resounding majority voted to join Russia, although the elections were widely seen as rigged and many irregular voting practices were reported. It really bugs him that people associate patriotism with Republicans, while it is the Democrats who are the real patriots. Yeah right. I have no idea why anybody would think that Democrat leaders and commentators aren’t patriotic. Maybe because of statements like this: Capehart’s argument is not uncommon, of course. Democrats have been frustrated by the fact that Republicans have been more successful with patriotic messaging than they since at least the 60’s. Kennedy clearly was very patriotic with his messaging, but ever since Democrats have been associated

Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) wanted regulatory reform, in part to reverse some of the Biden Administration reversals of Trump era reforms intended to expedite permits for fossil fuel projects. Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) needed Manchin’s vote in the 50-50 Senate to enact his latest spending extravaganza, the Inflation Reduction Act, which was primarily a massive climate and “green” energy subsidy arrangement. It gives Schumer allies some $370 billion in wind, solar, battery and other funding, tax credits and subsidies. In exchange, Schumer would offer a path for Manchin’s reform bill.
