New York City is mourning the tragic death of a longtime FDNY paramedic who was fatally stabbed while on duty in a Queens neighborhood Thursday afternoon. Emergency Medical Service Lt. Alison Russo-Elling, 61, was on shift at EMS Station 49 in Astoria when she was stabbed multiple times in a "barbaric and completely unprovoked" attack near 20th Avenue and Steinway Street, FDNY Acting Commissioner Laura Kavanagh said in a joint news conference Thursday. The deadly attack happened at approximately 2:15 p.m. while she was walking to get food. She was in uniform and clearly identified as an EMS member.

I'm 71 and all my life I have wanted to visit New York City. I want to see the museums, I want to see The Music Man on Broadway, I want to visit some of the restaurants. But not any more. I would be a sitting duck for some crazy out to beat up an old woman.

The suspect has a history of violence and schizophrenia so to the woke leaders of NYC it’s like a math problem: Peter has a history of psychosis and is fantasizing about killing people in a knife attack but loves to cook. Should he: a.) go unarmed to the grocery store with competent supervision b.) be institutionalized in a secure but humane facility and allowed to cook as a reward for good behavior c.) be allowed to live and walk the streets freely with a butcher knife in his hand Of course the answer is C because Peter and the innocent public matter less than the woke wish to feel superior/compassionate. Unless they’re a Soros-approved politician or DA in which cases compassion is an obvious ruse used in the destruction a lovely country.

FTA: New York City Mayor Eric Adams said Thursday the city has lost one of its heroes who provided a service to NYC residents for over two decades. "Every day they do their job in a manner in which many of us don't realize how dangerous it is," Adams said. "She was working for this city. She paid the ultimate sacrifice because of it." The slain paramedic is FDNY's 1,158th member to make the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Yes, NYC Mayor Eric Adams, there have been 1,158 of FDNY’s (and America’s) finest who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. America has heard the stories of many of them and many tears have been shed in NY and across the nation for them and their families. But, Emergency Medical Service Lt. Alison Russo-Elling was sacrificed on the alter of outrageous, egregious policies of “wokeness”, which open the door for such attacks as she suffered, and over which you preside in NYC. The tears I’m shedding now for her, her family, her colleagues and all who loved her, are shed with the prayer for a true, realistic awakening to realize the dangers of what is happening to our beloved country because of such policies. The prayer for knowledge, understanding, wisdom, courage, strength and the will of people in places of power, and by the merciful grace of Almighty God, to make the necessary changes toward preventing such unnecessary sacrifices, and to save our country from the brink of certain destruction if they are allowed to continue. May God have mercy on us all, to open our eyes and bless every effort, large and small, to stand for the good and defeat the evil. It cannot be done without Him.

DeSantis’s 52% to 41% advantage in the Mason-Dixon Polling & Strategy survey comes as Floridians began receiving vote-by-mail ballots across the state as it recovers from the ravages of Hurricane Ian, which made landfall in the southwest of the peninsula and exited its northeast quadrant last week. WASHINGTON - U.S. President Joe Biden's public approval rating edged lower this week and was close to the lowest level of his presidency, with just five weeks to go before the Nov. 8 midterm elections, a Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll completed on Tuesday found. The two-day national poll found that 40% of Americans approve of Biden's job performance, down from 41% a week earlier. The president's sagging popularity, which drifted as low as 36% in May and June, has helped drive expectations that his Democratic Party will lose control of the U.S. House of Representatives in November, and possibly the Senate
