We have seen how committed Republicans are to defeating Big Government Socialism by all the spending bills and continuing resolutions they have voted for.

New Gingrich? What happened to the old one???? ;-) We believed it when you tried to do it Newt. I have no faith that Kevin even actually wants to do it; I'm relatively certain that is just election season pretending this time, and Kevin & Company, with just a couple of exceptions , intend to do more than lip service for the next couple of months.

Oh, please. We are not falling for empty promises again especially those that are put out right before an election. These people disgust me because they underestimate the American people. We can see right through Kevin’s little announcement. This is nothing but a craven political strategy trotted out to appear that our elected representatives are actually going to work to benefit us. Fat chance of that. They have been AWOL these past two years while Biden has taken a wrecking ball to this country. They couldn’t even manage to produce a clearly enunciated opposition. So spare me your solution now. This is not rocket science. Most everyone is aware of what needs to be done. What we need are men and women of conscience totally committed to putting this country and its people first. This pathetic group of fools is lazy, entitled, and when confronted with this lawless administration fled to their safe spaces and now they expect me to trust them?

How about just finishing the work "contracted" in 1994, starting with balanced budgets and elimination of wasteful spending. The latter would make the former achievable. This is just more GOPe BS pushed out as boob bait.

Matt Schlapp* (CPAC fame) was on the Larry O'Connor show this morning - see WMAL.com later for the podcast. Anyway, one of his comments critical of Kevin and the GOPe is that they need to stop engaging with any of these woke companies, etc. as they hate us. No reason for the GOPe to meet halfway with companies and organizations that hate the very voters Kevin and Co. rely on to get re-elected over and over. * We can debate just how many here think Matt is a true conservative although his CPAC did host the Italian Prime Minister twice.

The only way to truly get something done and execute the Republican President's Agenda is to have an Uprising when choosing the SPEAKER! Kevin is NOT TRUSTED by everyone! I think Jim Jordon would be great. He has been a Soldier for Trump from day one. There are other as well. If Trump (or DeSantis) wants to get anything done, they should not trust Kevin to be the Speaker!

I suspect McCarthy would be another Boehner with his "We're only 1/2 of 1/3 of the govt". "We can't do anything". What McCarthy would have is the power of the purse. No legislation goes anywhere without the Speaker giving the ok. Would he hold up funding? Shut down the govt? Answer: No! His own party would not let him and he doesn't have the clout with the GOP like Pelosi has with the Crats. While not an ideal situation either way, it's better to have the GOP hold the House than not.

Venezuela is deliberately releasing prisoners, among them violent criminals, and has them travel to the U.S. southern border, a development that prompted 14 House Republicans to write to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. Rep. Troy Nehls (R-Texas), who is leading the Republican effort to have Mayorkas answer questions, said in the Sept. 22 letter that the decision by the Nicolas Maduro regime has put the United States “in grave danger.”

There is something peculiar going on with the post facto attempts to justify the search of Donald Trump’s home. At first we were told that he had purloined American nuclear secrets, complete with rank speculation that he sold them to the highest bidder. Then the magistrate who authorized the search warrant ordered the release of a highly redacted supporting affidavit. The affidavit said nothing about nuclear secrets and also had no specificity about the documents being sought; rather, it showed that the whole affair arose from a spat with the National Archives, the presidential equivalent of overdue library books.

Starting in March 2021, three Italian surgeons analyzed peripheral blood, using a single drop from each of 1,006 symptomatic participants who had had at least one mRNA injection (from Pfizer or Moderna.)

The time has come for a coalition of governors, attorneys general, and state legislators to demonstrate the power of broad-based federalism to interpose against extreme federal tyranny. Many conservative commentators have finally woken up to smell the stench of the Fourth Reich following Biden’s speech targeting political opposition, reminiscent of the authoritarian language of past dictators. However, they should have been awake since March 2020, when our government declared de facto martial law on our lives, liberty, and property and used our bodies as lab rats with an ever-growing list of experimental therapies. They should have awoken from their slumber after Americans were targeted with solitary confinement and disproportionate punishment for

America’s determination to preserve democracy here in Taiwan and in the world remains iron-clad.” But is this truly the world struggle America is in today? Ireland was once famous for dispatching Catholic missionaries to pagan lands. But now an increasingly secularized Ireland needs missionaries sent to it. The once-pious island has gone from saving civilization to losing it, plunging into a hedonistic culture that promotes “abortion rights” and the sexual revolution. The repulsive New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd recently chortled that “Ireland and the United States have traded places.” In the past, she said, the Irish went to America for abortions. Now Americans after the collapse of Roe v. Wade will go to Ireland for them. Dowd sees this as great progress: “Ireland leaped into modernity, rejecting religious reactionaries’ insistence on controlling women’s bodies.

California finds itself on edge more than ever with a lingering fear: the threat of rolling blackouts for years to come. Despite new power plants, building huge battery storage systems and restarting some shuttered fossil fuel generators over the past couple of years, California relies heavily on energy from other states — the cavalry rushing over a distant hill. Sometimes the support does not show up when expected or at all. That was the case this month, when millions of residents got cellphone alerts urging them to cut their energy use as the state teetered close to blackouts in blazing heat.
