Venezuela Empties Prisons and Sends Criminals
to US Border: House Republicans

Original Article

Venezuela is deliberately releasing prisoners, among them violent criminals, and has them travel to the U.S. southern border, a development that prompted 14 House Republicans to write to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. Rep. Troy Nehls (R-Texas), who is leading the Republican effort to have Mayorkas answer questions, said in the Sept. 22 letter that the decision by the Nicolas Maduro regime has put the United States “in grave danger.”

I suspect they're not releasing political prisoners. Why would they. The U.S. doesn't.

#2, Excellent observation. The entire political class has failed us. Especially Democrats with their lawless open border policy, but Republicans really have done very little. They don’t make noise but they are excellent at making empty promises when they get around to it which is unsurprisingly a few weeks before an election. I could not hold them in more contempt. It took McCarthy two years to come up his plan? Most everyone here could have with a couple of like minded friends wrapped that up around the kitchen table in less than a half-hour. Color me unimpressed.

FTA: ''The 14 Republicans want Mayorkas to answer more than 10 questions, including the precautions DHS is taking to prevent these Venezuelan criminals from entering the United States.'' Wow! Gonna send a letter to Mayorkas and ask 10 questions! And they expect a reply from the loon that has stated the border is secure???? Next time send a ''harshly worded letter,'' that'll scare him.

Why am I getting feelings of deja vu all over again. I seem to remember this happening during the Carter administration when Castro emptied his prisons of violet prisoners and set them to Florida. Only this time it is Maduro sending his criminals to Texas. Why do Democratic presidents welcome the worst that other countries have to offer?

As the midterms approach, one way of looking at America’s current disaster is that we, the American people, were lab rats. And since 2021, the Left were the mad scientists, eager to try out their crackpot leftist experiments on us. The result is that the housing market is tottering on the verge of collapse. As interest rates soar, our $31 trillion national debt crowds out everything else in the budget. Report Ad Report Ad Inflation roars at a rate of 8-9 percent per annum, higher than at any time in 40 years. Yet the prices of the stuff of life—food, fuel, shelter, energy—are far steeper still than the official rate.

THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY is quietly broadening its efforts to curb speech it considers dangerous, an investigation by The Intercept has found. Years of internal DHS memos, emails, and documents — obtained via leaks and an ongoing lawsuit, as well as public documents — illustrate an expansive effort by the agency to influence tech platforms. The work, much of which remains unknown to the American public, came into clearer view earlier this year when DHS announced a new “Disinformation Governance Board”: a panel designed to police misinformation (false information spread unintentionally), disinformation (false information spread intentionally), and malinformation

The COVID-19 pandemic had a profound impact on American society and the world at large, from small businesses to mental health to childhood education. As we emerge from it, public health experts, academics, and journalists will piece together the history of our national response, of how personal griefs intertwined with social consequences Last week, an important piece of that puzzle became publicly available. Dr. Anthony Fauci's official calendar from late 2019 and early 2020, until now hidden, is available at OpenTheBooks.com for the world to scrutinize. It should serve to inform lawmakers whose duty is to exercise oversight and hold public servants accountable.
