The COVID-19 pandemic had a profound impact on American society and the world at large, from small businesses to mental health to childhood education. As we emerge from it, public health experts, academics, and journalists will piece together the history of our national response, of how personal griefs intertwined with social consequences Last week, an important piece of that puzzle became publicly available. Dr. Anthony Fauci's official calendar from late 2019 and early 2020, until now hidden, is available at OpenTheBooks.com for the world to scrutinize. It should serve to inform lawmakers whose duty is to exercise oversight and hold public servants accountable.

I doubt we will never be able to prove what we know to charge Fauci and others criminally. So he will skate and live off we taxpayers for another few decades. I'd prefer he be publicly hung but will have to be confident that God will eventually punish he and the rest of these people for their sins. In the meantime I'd settle for the destruction of his professional reputation so that he'd probably have to hide for the rest of his life.

Off the topic, but it seems Newsweek may be trending toward more balanced and factual coverage. Let's keep an eye on them; they may eventually become a reliable news source. Next time you're at the dentist, have a look.

After calling Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis “Ron DeSanctimonious” on Saturday night, former President Donald Trump called on his Miami supporters to vote for the Florida GOP governor during the 2022 midterms. “With thousands of proud, hard-working American patriots, incredible people–just two days from now, the people of Florida are going to reelect the wonderful, the great, a friend of mine, Marco Rubio to the United States Senate, and you’re going to reelect Ron DeSantis as your governor of the state,”

A good deal of scathing commentary has been heaped on Emily Oster’s terrible piece in the far-Left Atlantic on COVID amnesty, so I won’t spend more time on the fundamental lunacy and—as our own Ned Ryun aptly puts it—the chutzpah of this old-new leftist idea: That you have to let everyone off the hook for the terrible things they did because they had no way of knowing at the time that it was terrible. (“I’m sorry I bashed your head in! I thought it was in the best interests of society!”) Instead, I want to ask the Osters of the world a question of perspective:

One of the most obvious and compelling reasons for the American people to vote the Democrats out of power is that the party seeks to impose a secularist tyranny upon America — an increasingly perverted political order that is completely alien to the Judeo-Christian origins of

As the midterms approach, one way of looking at America’s current disaster is that we, the American people, were lab rats. And since 2021, the Left were the mad scientists, eager to try out their crackpot leftist experiments on us. The result is that the housing market is tottering on the verge of collapse. As interest rates soar, our $31 trillion national debt crowds out everything else in the budget. Report Ad Report Ad Inflation roars at a rate of 8-9 percent per annum, higher than at any time in 40 years. Yet the prices of the stuff of life—food, fuel, shelter, energy—are far steeper still than the official rate.

THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY is quietly broadening its efforts to curb speech it considers dangerous, an investigation by The Intercept has found. Years of internal DHS memos, emails, and documents — obtained via leaks and an ongoing lawsuit, as well as public documents — illustrate an expansive effort by the agency to influence tech platforms. The work, much of which remains unknown to the American public, came into clearer view earlier this year when DHS announced a new “Disinformation Governance Board”: a panel designed to police misinformation (false information spread unintentionally), disinformation (false information spread intentionally), and malinformation

The co-founder and retired CEO of Whole Foods, John Mackey, built a grocery store empire by embracing what he calls "conscious capitalism"—a management style that focuses on the higher purpose of a business and how it creates value not just for shareholders but for customers, employees, and other "stakeholders." Mackey has appeared in Reason's pages many times, including a landmark 2005 debate with Nobel laureate Milton Friedman and Cypress Semiconductor founder T.J. A new EWTN News/RealClear Opinion Research survey published Tuesday found Joe Biden is facing strong disapproval from Catholic voters in six battleground states, with large majorities stating the economy is the most pressing issue in the 2022 midterm elections. Trafalgar Group conducted the poll from October 14-18 with more than 500 likely Catholic voters in each of these battleground states: Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Nevada, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.

I guess it was just a matter of time, but doing it three days before the mid-terms seems less than ideal. Donald Trump held a rally in Pennslyvania tonight, but as usual, the candidates running for office were an afterthought. Instead, the former president spent the majority of the time talking about himself. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. It’s a Trump rally after all, and to be sure, they can be very entertaining. Unfortunately, instead of some of the good things he said making news, there’s currently just one clip going gangbusters on Saturday night. That would be this one where Trump engaged in friendly fire by taking

Ron DeSantis is the latest politician to fall victim to one of Trump’s famous nicknames. In times past Trump has coined Low Energy Jeb, Sleepy Joe, Crooked Hillary, Little Marco Rubio, and the list goes on and on. During last night’s rally in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, Trump surprisingly gave Ron DeSantis the nickname “Ron DeSanctimonious”. “We’re winning big in the Republican Party for the nomination like nobody’s ever seen before,” Trump told a crowd in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, on Saturday night before going down the list of other Republicans who could potentially challenge him in 2024.

Former President Barack Obama insisted Saturday that Pennsylvania Lt. Gov John Fetterman was fit to serve in the US Senate despite the lingering effects of a stroke suffered in May. Fetterman is facing Republican opponent Dr. Mehmet Oz in a tight contest for the Keystone state’s open Senate seat. “John’s stroke did not change who he is, it didn’t change what he cares about, it didn’t change his values, his heart, his fight,” Obama said during a rally in Pittsburgh. “It doesn’t change who he will represent when he gets to the United States Senate. He’ll represent you. And that’s what you deserve.”

The Canadian healthcare system is experiencing an acute shortage of basic painkillers, particularly acetaminophen and ibuprofen, which are commonly used to relieve pain and fever in children during flu season. Canada’s Association of Medical Assistance in Dying Assessors and Providers (CAMAP) chose this perhaps awkward moment to roll out a webinar for healthcare professionals that advised them to offer assisted suicide to their suffering patients. As Canada’s National Post noted, doctors around the world are normally “explicitly prohibited or strongly discouraged” from bringing up the subject of euthanasia, even in jurisdictions where assisted suicide is legal. Beginning with a “guidance document” published in 2019, CAMAP asserted that, on the contrary,

I will always be grateful for the presidency of Donald Trump and, if he is the GOP nominee for president in 2024, I will support him. But I am very disturbed that yesterday, at an airport rally in Pennsylvania, he attacked Ron DeSantis...with one of his derisive nicknames, except that this one doesn’t even make any sense: President Reagan of blessed memory left us with a very useful 11th commandment: “Thou shalt not attack another Republican." In today’s political environment, with the Democrat party in the hands of the radical left, and wrecking our economy, society and ability to defend ourselves, defeating them and taking control

President Biden gave a bizarre, disjointed speech in San Diego declaring that “I have my shotgun waiting for the wolf” to ward off recession while vowing to shut down coal plants across the nation and branding Afghanistan a “God-forsaken place.” Biden appeared to basically ignore prepared remarks that were intended to address the passage of this year’s $280 billion bipartisan CHIPS and Science Act. Instead, he referred to the New York Times “Goldilocks report” in a ploy that whiffs of desperation just days before the midterm elections where the majority of Americans are laser-focused on inflation and the economy… one of the biggest weaknesses of Democrats.

How can Americans look at the country and not slaughter the Democrats?
