Here’s how many San Franciscans say
they’ve been the victim of a crime,
according to new poll

Opinions and feverish debates about public safety have shaped the most momentous political decisions in San Francisco this year, from Mayor London Breed declaring a state of emergency in the Tenderloin, to the historic recall of a district attorney. But in a city where leaders are constantly groping for solutions, some residents still feel afraid to walk home alone or lock their bikes downtown. A sweeping poll commissioned by The Chronicle drew sobering results: Nearly half of respondents said they were victims of theft in the last five years, while roughly a quarter were physically attacked or threatened. The majority had negative impressions of law enforcement.

Comments:

They keep electing the same Marxist retreads, but expect different outcomes. Only solution is to revile and defund the police even more, and make things even more expensive to chase away all but the Ultra-0.01% and the welfare and homeless population.

To be sung to the tune of "I Left My Heart in San Francisco" "I'll Say Goodbye to San Francisco" INTRO: No more my little Paris No longer light and gay The City that I lov’d Is gone with yesterday Though I tried hard not to know And I didn’t want to face it It’s time to go ‘Cause it hurts too much to stay SONG: I’ll say goodbye to San Francisco To all my friends and fam’ly there The streets once warm with love and light Are cold with fear and fright And dark despair now fills the air Everywhere Deep in my heart dear San Francisco You’ll always live in memory And in my dreams each night San Francisco Your golden sun will shine for me Tearfully, from someone who passionately loveD his City by the Bay

I'm unsure, am I supposed to have pity for these Rat loving nitwits? Maybe they're disgusted because only ''Nearly half of respondents said they were victims of theft...'' After spending years of electing nothing but leftwing crazies and only HALF have been victims of crime? C'mon San Franfreako, you can do better than that. And then there's this FTA: ''The majority had negative impressions of law enforcement.'' How would you like to live in a city as STUPID as this?

I do not want to live like SF, which is why I reject everything from the left. The U.S. does not need to be federalized in uniformity with SF. The left does not really believe in diversity.

I lived in SF from 1973 through 2018. Loved it. It is the most beautiful city in the United States. There is a myriad of interesting neighborhoods, almost no strip malls, lots of parks. I could walk to work and almost anywhere since it is so compact. I moved out so I could cash in massively by selling the house. I also was very tired of the cold, windy and foggy summers. The decline began with the Wu Flu and accelerated with the George Floyd riots. The city now is disordered. It will bounce back. It has too many pluses to turn into a Portland or Philadelphia.

e Good Lord. aThank God I live in a small, relatively safe little town in the South. We have some crime...mostly drug related, but nothing like this. This is an appalling tragedy and it’s because of a common denominator....Democrats in charge for years. Our big cities are quickly becoming unlivable and are as dangerous as being in the middle of the Ukraine war. It’s not going to change. The smart people are leaving in droves and taking the tax base with them. The ones left will be the one percent in their armed enclaves and the 99% living on welfare and voting for the freebie party year after year. I was in SF about 20 years ago and it was deteriorating even then. I cannot imagine why they have any tourism business left.

Today's fitness trackers are set to a default goal of 10,000 steps and will buzz, ping or send you a congratulatory notification when you hit that target. It may be time to pass on gas. The more than 40 million households in the US who use a gas stove might want to consider an alternative. New findings have shown that gas stoves — even when turned off — may cause asthma in children and put adults at risk of cancer. Dr. Jonathan Levy, an environmental health professor at Boston University, claimed the stoves may pollute the air with nitrogen dioxide, which can cause lung damage. The pollutant, a “byproduct of fuel combustion,” is also the same that is produced on major highways, but since the kitchen is an enclosed space, it puts inhabitants at more risk.
