Paddington Bear has paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth II just a few months after they warmed the nation's hearts with a hilarious afternoon tea sketch at ‘Buckingham Palace’. At 6.30pm today, the Royal Family announced that the Queen had died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. And moments after the news broke that Her Majesty had died at the age of 96, Paddington joined millions of others in paying tribute. The bear said in a simple, yet heartfelt message: ‘Thank you Ma’am, for everything.’ The pair had bonded just three months ago over their love of marmalade sandwiches ahead of the star-studded Platinum Jubilee concert.

Queen Elizabeth RIP. The greatest Queen that Britain has ever had. Who reigned over her subjects for 70+ years in elegance and civility. But you have the likes of Carnegie Mellon University and associate professor Uju Anya's who wished Elizabeth supreme agony in death. May Uju Anya suffer the consequences of being the most bigoted individual on the face of the Earth. Carnegie Mellon excused Anya's behavior as free speech. The left can't help themselves in being the scum of the earth.

For me this was the highlight of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. It showed Queen Elizabeth at her best and of course, Paddington was so sincere in expressing the country’s gratitude for the Queen in a simple and charming manner. The world has lost an anchor that had tethered it to the idea of honor, duty, and decorum. We mourn for our cousins across the pond and pray for their comfort and peace. We have all lost a beautiful example of unselfish dedication that I doubt we will witness again. Great Britain will never be the same without her.

I never understood the whole Paddington Bear-marmalade sandwich thing, and never cared enough to do the research to understand it. Some British things are just strange, and from my view, best just left alone. Nothing against Elizabeth at all, just strange Brit ways.

I loved bear characters as a kid and I'm sure my fellow L-Dotters know quite a few such as: Smokey the Bear Winnie the Pooh Yogi and Boo Boo Goldie Locks and the Three Bears The Charmin Bears We Bare Bears The Hair Bear Bunch And of course Paddington Bear. He's always been one of my favorites probably because he spoke proper English and was always respectfully. It's cute that he paid his respects to the Queen. Could you imagine him meeting the Hair Bear Bunch? That would be too funny.

Wow-- someone else enjoys marmalade sandwiches. I never knew. My version is on raisin bread spread with marmalade, of course, on one slice and peanut butter on the other.

The Queen, already suffering from the pain of bone cancer, was so gracious in her response to the Jubilee, most especially in the charming sketch with Paddington Bear. It actually only takes a smidgeon of imagination and joy to appreciate her endearing performance. Please God let me maintain the ability to appreciate some of the charm of childhood as I inch my way towards old age! Ramona (the Pest)

A Clinton-appointed federal Judge blocked a new Arizona election integrity law from being enforced in the upcoming 2022 General Election. HB2247 is meant to clean the voter rolls and remove registrants who are registered in another state and no longer live in Arizona. The new law would add a statement on voter registration forms, specifying that if a registrant permanently moves to another state after registering in this state, their registration will be canceled.

A sex sting operation that resulted in the arrests of 160 people also busted Georgia Police Officer Jason DiPrima. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office announced on Friday that their week-long sting, called “Operation Fall Haul II,” discovered at least two sex trafficking victims. Sheriff Grady Judd said during a press conference that there could potentially be more victims. “Our goal is to start services the moment that they are taken into custody and to treat them as what they are, victims, not as suspects in a criminal event,” said Judd.” Operation Fall Haul II” also led to the arrest of two Disney employees, a state corrections officer, several

NEW YORK — Payment processor Visa Inc. said Saturday that it plans to start separately categorizing sales at gun shops, a major win for gun control advocates who say it will help better track suspicious surges of gun sales that could be a prelude to a mass shooting. But the decision by Visa, the world’s largest payment processor, will likely provoke the ire of gun rights advocates and gun lobbyists, who have argued that categorizing gun sales would unfairly flag an industry when most sales do not lead to mass shootings. It joins Mastercard and American Express, which also said they plan to move forward with categorizing gun shop sales.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said Thursday the United States must look to “the wind, sun, and other clean sources of energy” instead of relying on oil and gas. Yellen’s remarks came during a trip to Detroit, Michigan, where she boasted about the Democrats’ Inflation Reduction Act. “Our plan — powered by the Inflation Reduction Act — represents the largest investment in fighting climate change in our country’s history,” Yellen told the crowd. “It will put us well on our way toward a future where we depend on the wind, sun, and other clean sources of energy.”

Former President Donald Trump may avoid legal trouble before the midterm elections as federal prosecutors have missed an unofficial deadline to announce charges 60 days before Election Day. The Department of Justice is likely to hold off on deciding whether to press charges against the former president, abiding by the “60 Day Rule”: a long-standing yet unofficial tradition that the DOJ avoids making consequential decisions within 60 days of an election that could affect voters’ decisions. The 60-day marker for the 2022 midterm elections fell on Friday, meaning it is unlikely Trump will face any charges until after the election.

Chief Justice John Roberts has defended the Supreme Court, but refused to comment further on the mysterious leak that has remained unsolved. Roberts took aim at the court's critics in a speech Friday night, which marked his first public appearance since Roe v. Wade was overturned earlier this year. “If the court doesn’t retain its legitimate function of interpreting the Constitution, I’m not sure who would take up that mantle. You don’t want the political branches telling you what the law is, and you don’t want public opinion to be the guide about what the appropriate decision is,” Roberts said.

Why doctors aren't speaking out 27 replies

Dear Steve, You ask why doctors are silent. The electronic medical records (EMRs) are a ball and chain to physicians. We are tracked through them. When I wrote a prescription for Ivermectin for a patient, with informed consent (she was vaccinated), I received 5 letters threatening my medical license, my hospital privileges, and my insurance contracts. I would not have received 5 letters if I killed someone in negligence or malpractice. If I have my license pulled, I will no longer be able to help my patients. I speak to patients on a one-on-one basis, but speaking out would destroy my family.

CBS News has a big scoop this afternoon. The industry group that sets international standards for credit card companies has decided to create a new code for the purchase of guns and ammo that, while not identifying the exact purchases, will separate those items from the more generic category they had been lumped in with previously. Merchant category codes are made up of four digits and are used across all sorts of industries as a means to classify retailers, while not revealing individual product purchases. Credit card companies currently lump firearm retailers in with other outlets, classifying them as either “5999: Miscellaneous retail stores” or “5941: Sporting Goods Stores.”

King Charles III, who ascended to the throne on Thursday, has chosen to rule with the name he was given at birth. But as a British king it comes with baggage. Charles I, born in 1600, endured a stormy reign that ended with his execution 49 years later. In between, he provoked a civil war and erased the notion of an all-powerful monarchy—or indeed, of any monarchy at all for the 11 years after his beheading outside Banqueting House in London. Charles II, his son, chose to lay low on the European continent for what came to be known

In early September, Joe Biden delivered what has now been dubbed his “red speech.” Somehow, the content managed to be worse than the presentation. The president railed against “MAGA Republicans,” declaring them enemies of the state and a threat to the republic. Truly, it was the most obscene speech a president has given since the popularization of modern national addresses. Far from being a unifying figure, Biden chose to drive a knife through the heart of the country, and it didn’t take long for the walk-backs to begin. Pretty soon, the president began insisting that he wasn’t talking about “mainstream Republicans” and that the “ultra MAGA” represented
