Ukraine's military chief has claimed there is a direct risk of Russia using tactical nuclear weapons 'in certain circumstances'.
Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, the Ukrainian army's commander in chief, added that it is impossible to rule out the direct involvement of global powers in what he described as a 'limited' nuclear war.
Zaluzhnyi said in an article published by state news agency Ukrinform: 'There is a direct threat of the use, under certain circumstances, of tactical nuclear weapons by the Russian Armed Forces.

Russia intends to take Poland and Romania, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia after Uktaine, and if they begin to lose, they very well may use nukes. They are paranoid on a level that is difficult to understand for most who haven't been there.
Napoleon and the Wermacht scarred them to their core as a culture.

If DJT had not been cheated out of the presidency, I remain convinced that Russia would not have invaded the Ukraine.

Appears the Ukrainians are trying to force the US and Europe to provide them with far more weapons and money, lots of money to pay salaries pensions by raising fear of Russia resorting to tactical nukes. While their plight is tragic and their efforts heroic, the US in particular shouldn’t toss more than the $60 billion we have already committed without considering consequences.
If we provide Ukraine with more weapons, especially HIMAR artillery rockets that cost $165,000 each, we risk forcing the Russians into increasing their destructive weapons, including the “small” nukes. Worse, producing a stalemate or even a limited retreat by Russian forces means natural gas and oil cutoffs to much if not all of Europe. Winter is a weapon, and Putin is well aware of the EU’s and UK’s self-imposed green madness that ensures a very cold and desperate population.
We need to work to on a cease fire and negotiation to end this conflict, not extend it.

If we'd stayed out of it, the whole thing would have been over by now.

Excuse 2nd post, but is Biden providing military and financial assistance to Ukraine in order to thank President Zelensky for not helping Trump investigate Burisma’s $8 million plus in bribes to Joe via Hunter Biden? Remember President Trump’s 25 minute phone call with Zelensky in which he briefly asked for help in investigating the Biden involvement with Burisma Energy. This call led to the first impeachment attempt of Trump over delaying a weapons delivery to Ukraine for 5 weeks. After that obscene impeachment attempt, nothing ever happened with Burisma or the Bidens (thanks, AG Barr) other than Democrat & media attacks on Rudy Giuliani, who was helping Trump uncover this Biden kickback.
I ask this because when Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014, the Obama/Biden regime did little to help that corrupt country. Once Joe Biden was appointed Obama’s primary contact on Ukraine, Hunter’s role as an $80,000 per month director for Burisma began, with VP Joe threatening Ukraine by withholding a $1 billion federal loan guarantee if they didn’t fire the Ukrainian prosecutor who was investigating Burisma. There are always hidden reasons for getting involved in a war, and Biden’s corrupt involvement with Ukraine might be one of these secrets.

I’m tired of hearing about this little gnat of a country, with it’s greedy, corrupt, cocaine-addled USA/EU/NATO puppet leader.

Russia isn't going to use nuclear weapons. However, they may try and cause enough damage to the nuclear power plant that an entire region of Ukraine will become uninhabitable due to radiation coming from a damaged power plant. Notice the Russian military went directly to nuclear power plants with any gains they had on the ground.

Someone remind me why we got involved in this mess?
I have yet to see an official tell us what our strategic goal or purpose is.

#12 you will be interested to read the comments above. #1 pointed out that Russia is threatening its Baltic neighbors they are next. Baltic-country citizens remark occasionally that when Russian generals are drunk they say they are coming back to get [country]. Putin also threatened Kazakhstan, and Russia is known to believe it ought to be running the main Orthodox patriarchy, for which capture of Istanbul would be a springboard. So one reason to care is that it won't just be Ukraine. If we don't help those brave Ukraine fighters then we can try to fight those brave Ukraine fighters after they are drafted to Putin's army. Second reason to care is that not only do they want to conquer everybody, their methods are beneath contempt. If you don't care about this then don't expect anybody to come to your rescue ever. This is the abyss of human behavior.

Re #6, a silly supposition. After Ukraine, Russia does NOT stop. They intend to control multiple approaches to their country from the west, and those strategic approaches are in Poland and Romania. Ukraine is just the route to Poland and Romania, and the three small states of Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania will be rolled up for access to Poland. Russian demographics are so dismal that in 10 or 20 years this will be impossible, so they are going for broke to create what is to their extremely paranoid minds is "defensible borders". And I seriously wonder if anything will stop them short of those goals.
I think the possibility of them using nukes is very real if they feel that they are falling short of reaching those desired "choke" points which the want to control.
