The United Kingdom — and the world — is mourning the death of Queen Elizabeth II. She died on Thursday at the age of 96 at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.Watch the video above to see what some are calling a sign from the heavens. The CEO of a luxury furniture retailer has claimed it is 'crazy' to think the US economy is not in recession, as household wealth fell by a record $6.1 trillion in the second quarter.
'I don't know, people keep saying, are we going to be in a recession? We're in a recession,' said Gary Friedman, the chief executive of RH, formerly known as Restoration Hardware, in an investor call on Thursday.

It is understandable that folks are baffled and dismayed by the news that confronts us each day. The Babylon Bee can barely keep a step ahead of the nitwittery we see playing out in real time.
For example, California politicians decided to take money from taxpayers in order to buy medical insurance for illegal aliens. The federal government tossed bundles of COVID relief cash every which way, with over a billion dollars of it raining down on incarcerated convicts, including Boston Marathon bomber, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. And we witnessed government spend billions to fight the prospect of climate change, only to create the reality of crushing inflation.
Why are these things happening?

A new law passed by North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un’s puppet parliament will allow for the leader to fire a preemptive nuclear attack if the country believes such an action would protect it from a threat.
North Korea’s new law also ensures that the country will “automatically and immediately” retaliate with nuclear weapons if Kim is killed in an attack, Politico reported. You ask why doctors are silent. The electronic medical records (EMRs) are a ball and chain to physicians. We are tracked through them. When I wrote a prescription for Ivermectin for a patient, with informed consent (she was vaccinated), I received 5 letters threatening my medical license, my hospital privileges, and my insurance contracts. I would not have received 5 letters if I killed someone in negligence or malpractice. If I have my license pulled, I will no longer be able to help my patients.
I speak to patients on a one-on-one basis, but speaking out would destroy my family.
Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has blasted the state’s new “ranked-choice” voting system following her loss in the state’s first election conducted with this system. Palin and republican candidate Nick Begich had both lost to Democratic Candidate Mary.

CBS News has a big scoop this afternoon. The industry group that sets international standards for credit card companies has decided to create a new code for the purchase of guns and ammo that, while not identifying the exact purchases, will separate those items from the more generic category they had been lumped in with previously.
Merchant category codes are made up of four digits and are used across all sorts of industries as a means to classify retailers, while not revealing individual product purchases. Credit card companies currently lump firearm retailers in with other outlets, classifying them as either “5999: Miscellaneous retail stores” or “5941: Sporting Goods Stores.”
To try and head off a likely loss of the House of Representatives and prepare for the next presidential election, Democrats create situations which raise anxiety in citizens, and this increases the chances their candidate will prevail because voters know discord will then subside. Former Acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker on Thursday slammed the man who he succeeded, saying former AG Bill Barr's recent embrace of the Justice Department raid on Donald Trump flew in the face of all the wrongdoing he himself exposed in the discredited Russia collusion case.
"Bill Barr continues for some reason to be an institutionalist when it comes to the Department of Justice, even though based on what he presided over, he should know better," Whitaker said on the Thursday edition of Just the News, Not Noise.
Shares of Smith & Wesson Brands Inc. were down Friday morning after the company said demand for its guns returned to pre-pandemic levels.
The firearms maker on Thursday had reported net sales to $84.4 million for its fiscal first quarter, a decrease of 69% from the same time last year. Smith & Wesson Chief Executive Officer Mark Smith blamed the "challenging" quarter on the return to normal demand levels and the company needing to correct inventory levels. "The industry experienced our first normal summer slowdown in three years," Smith said in a press release. Additionally, he said manufacturer orders were "artificially depressed" as the company's partners sold through existing inventories.
Republican Utah Senator Mitt Romney urged President Joe Biden to run for president on the night of the midterm elections in 2018, according to a chapter of an upcoming book obtained by The Guardian.
“You have to run,” the former Republican presidential nominee reportedly told Biden the night he won his Senate election in Utah.
