Very strange this morning. I took my dog for a walk. Clouds far away, but we encountered a few sprinkles. I looked and then towards the clouds, I saw a beautiful rainbow. It was probably around the time of the Queen’s passing. God rest her soul.

The one thing she is to be remembered for is not getting political. It was too beneath her dignity and not in her job description.

Reminds me of the funeral of Pope John Paul II (now Saint John Paul). As his coffin was being carried down the steps of St. Peter’s after the funeral mass, the cloud covered sky broke open and a ray of sunshine came through and shined right on his coffin. Sometimes God speaks to us in an undeniable way.

She was part of the greatest generation that is quickly disappearing. Those younger than forty probably never had the chance to be around that generation that much. Nothing fazed them. They just carried on and did the job that needed to be done. They enjoyed life. Today's youth, the under the thirty crowd are just the opposite. Everything bothers them and complaining is their way of life.

The CEO of a luxury furniture retailer has claimed it is 'crazy' to think the US economy is not in recession, as household wealth fell by a record $6.1 trillion in the second quarter. 'I don't know, people keep saying, are we going to be in a recession? We're in a recession,' said Gary Friedman, the chief executive of RH, formerly known as Restoration Hardware, in an investor call on Thursday. 'Anybody who thinks we're not in a recession is crazy. The housing market is in a recession, and it's just getting started. So it's probably going to be a difficult 12 to 18 months in our industry,' he said.

King Charles III's warring sons Prince William and Harry along with their wives Kate and Meghan Markle all appeared dressed in black at Windsor Castle this evening as they went on a 40-minute walkabout inspecting the sea of floral tributes laid outside the gates of the royal estate in tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II. The Prince and Princess of Wales and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were greeted by applause as they walked along the gates of Windsor Castle together as they honoured the legacy of Her Majesty - temporarily putting aside the differences sparked by Megxit which have fractured the Royal Family and
Joe Biden's Latest Definition of "Ultra

In early September, Joe Biden delivered what has now been dubbed his “red speech.” Somehow, the content managed to be worse than the presentation. The president railed against “MAGA Republicans,” declaring them enemies of the state and a threat to the republic. Truly, it was the most obscene speech a president has given since the popularization of modern national addresses. Far from being a unifying figure, Biden chose to drive a knife through the heart of the country, and it didn’t take long for the walk-backs to begin. Pretty soon, the president began insisting that he wasn’t talking about “mainstream Republicans” and that the “ultra MAGA” represented

The whole of civilization is in mourning. The passing of Queen Elizabeth II, the enlightened monarch who reigned over the United Kingdom for 70 years, is a loss felt by billions around the world. This week, and in the weeks ahead, we especially grieve for the royal family — we can only imagine their sorrow. And we express our solidarity with all the people of the United Kingdom and every realm of the Commonwealth she so loved. Few in history have more fully exemplified the traits of dignity, steadfastness, resolve, duty, and patriotic devotion. President Joe Biden struggled to find words to describe Republican Sen. You’re leaving a hell of a legacy as you leave what you’re doing as a consequence of you in large part,” Biden said to retiring Republican Sen. Rob Portman of Ohio at the ground-breaking ceremony of an Intel factory. Biden also apparently flubbed the name of Republican Rep. Troy Balderson, mistakenly calling him “Tony,” according to the transcript.

It is understandable that folks are baffled and dismayed by the news that confronts us each day. The Babylon Bee can barely keep a step ahead of the nitwittery we see playing out in real time. For example, California politicians decided to take money from taxpayers in order to buy medical insurance for illegal aliens. The federal government tossed bundles of COVID relief cash every which way, with over a billion dollars of it raining down on incarcerated convicts, including Boston Marathon bomber, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. And we witnessed government spend billions to fight the prospect of climate change, only to create the reality of crushing inflation. Why are these things happening?

Queen Elizabeth II, praised by England’s leading Catholic cardinal for her faith, said her sense of “personal accountability before God” underpinned her entire life. “On 21 April 1947, on her 21st birthday, Princess Elizabeth said, ‘I declare before you all that my whole life, whether it be long or short, shall be devoted to your service,’” said Cardinal Vincent Nichols of Westminster, President of the Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales, on news on the Queen’s passing at her Balmoral estate in Scotland. “Now, 75 years later, we are heartbroken in our loss at her death and so full of admiration for the unfailing way in which she fulfilled that declaration,”

The Justice Department said it is proposing two candidates for special master:

Amid the personal family tragedy on Thursday, a small domestic drama was playing out. Unsurprisingly, it involved the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. It was a fortunate coincidence of sorts that Harry and Meghan were in the country when the prince's grandmother passed away, sparing him an emotional and undoubtedly traumatic transatlantic dash as the Queen's health failed. Despite the rancour of the past few years, no one would begrudge him the chance to mourn his beloved 'Granny', with whom he had always enjoyed a warm and fun-loving relationship. But as the royal households were consumed in concern for the ailing monarch, the Sussexes prompted an unprecedented flurry behind the scenes

Dear Steve, You ask why doctors are silent. The electronic medical records (EMRs) are a ball and chain to physicians. We are tracked through them. When I wrote a prescription for Ivermectin for a patient, with informed consent (she was vaccinated), I received 5 letters threatening my medical license, my hospital privileges, and my insurance contracts. I would not have received 5 letters if I killed someone in negligence or malpractice. If I have my license pulled, I will no longer be able to help my patients. I speak to patients on a one-on-one basis, but speaking out would destroy my family.

CBS News has a big scoop this afternoon. The industry group that sets international standards for credit card companies has decided to create a new code for the purchase of guns and ammo that, while not identifying the exact purchases, will separate those items from the more generic category they had been lumped in with previously. Merchant category codes are made up of four digits and are used across all sorts of industries as a means to classify retailers, while not revealing individual product purchases. Credit card companies currently lump firearm retailers in with other outlets, classifying them as either “5999: Miscellaneous retail stores” or “5941: Sporting Goods Stores.”

To try and head off a likely loss of the House of Representatives and prepare for the next presidential election, Democrats create situations which raise anxiety in citizens, and this increases the chances their candidate will prevail because voters know discord will then subside. An example is Kathy Griffin’s widely read statement: “If you don’t want a Civil War, vote for Democrats in November. If you do want Civil War, vote Republican.” They make it very clear your life will only be peaceful if you keep Democrats in power, and they think that this is persuasive enough to tip elections.

The firearms maker on Thursday had reported net sales to $84.4 million for its fiscal first quarter, a decrease of 69% from the same time last year. Smith & Wesson Chief Executive Officer Mark Smith blamed the "challenging" quarter on the return to normal demand levels and the company needing to correct inventory levels. "The industry experienced our first normal summer slowdown in three years," Smith said in a press release. Additionally, he said manufacturer orders were "artificially depressed" as the company's partners sold through existing inventories.
