Liz Truss set to become new UK Conservative
prime minister

London - Liz Truss has been elected as the Conservative Party’s new leader, the party announced Monday, and she thus will become Britain’s new prime minister as the country faces an acute cost-of-living crisis. The 47-year-old Truss, who is currently foreign secretary, beat former Treasury chief Rishi Sunak after a leadership contest in which only about 170,000 dues-paying members of the Conservative Party were allowed to vote. Truss received 81,326 votes, compared with Sunak’s 60,399. She faces immediate pressure to deliver on her promises to tackle a cost-of-living crisis walloping the U.K. and an economy heading into a potentially lengthy recession.

Truss seems practical, and has been condemned by the left as the worst prime minister since Margaret Thatcher, which means she is highly recommended. I don't think Rishi, a lefty, with his skinny suits, and hip hop behavior would have been a good choice.

When you look at the UK political parties, the so-called Conservative Party equates about to the US Democrats, the Labor Party is made up of mostly socialists, and the other minor parties are located in politics somewhere between the communists, socialists, or are tribal in nature. They don’t have any political party that equates to the US conservative Republicans, MAGA, or the just plain wimpy Republicans.

FTA: "...in which only about 170,000 dues-paying members of the Conservative Party were allowed to vote..." Interesting idea. Replace dues paying with tax paying, and you might have something there.

According to a new poll of 1,000 likely voters from Convention of States Action, in partnership with The Trafalgar Group, a majority of voters believe the White House designed Biden’s primetime speech to attack his political opponents. They also viewed it as dangerous and believe the president intended to create conflict between Americans. Overall, 56.8% of American voters surveyed believe President Biden’s recent primetime address to the nation, in which he accused his political opponents of representing “an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic,” signifies a dangerous escalation in rhetoric and was designed to incite conflict among Americans.

President Joe Biden mocked a heckler during a Labor Day speech on Monday, accusing him of “destroying democracy.” Biden spoke at a Labor Day event in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, celebrating unions and warning workers about the dangers that “MAGA Republicans” posed to the working class. During his speech, a man stood up and began shouting, but it was unclear what he was saying. Biden tried to calm his supporters, as Secret hService removed the heckler from the event. “All right. God love you. Let him go. Let him go,” Biden said. “No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No – don’t, let him go,” Biden continued. “Look, everybody’s entitled

Lately, CNN anchors and correspondents have been tweeting their real opinion about Joe Biden, Hunter, and the Biden administration; however, many people seem upset about the direction that CNN is headed. When Chris Licht took over as CNN’s new CEO, his goal was to bring CNN back to the center of the political spectrum and make it the go-to news network again. Whether you are a fan of CNN or not, the network needs to return to the way things were before — straight news and informing the public of the important stories that took place. On Twitter, for the last couple of days, we have seen people

Joe Biden keeps digging himself and his fellow Democrats a big hole with his continuing attacks on millions of Americans who support America being great. I get that’s a tough concept for Joe and the folks on the left who are used to hating America. But it’s not going over well with most Americans that he’s taken that tactic. As we saw from the Reuters poll at the end of last week, he’s at close to his lowest polling numbers for that poll at 38 percent approval. He also just hit his lowest numbers with independents in the YouGov poll. So if he thinks he’s appealing to anyone other than rabid Democrats

Following President Biden’s address from Philadelphia last week, Mark Meckler, president of Convention of States Action, has advice for Republicans. He wants party leadership and candidates to buckle down on messaging about issues Americans care about. “There are people who might disagree with me, but I don’t really want to hear about Mar-a-Lago and the raid,” Meckler declared. “That’s not going to help Republicans. If you make this an election for or against Donald Trump, we’re not going to do that well.” Meckler agrees the raid was horrible and intends to speak out about it. Something strange is going on with Gina Carano’s Twitter account. Namely, as of the present (September 4), it’s not there. The account was active as recently as August 27th. The question is whether Carano deleted her account or Twitter deleted it for her. Usually, when Twitter pulls the plug it suspends the account, such as what it did to President Trump. Carano’s account “no longer exists,” which in Twitter talk means the user deleted it him or herself. This is possible, but this seems unlikely given how Carano freely and frequently used her account to publicize both her conservative views and different acting endeavors

The poll asked respondents, “Hypothetically, if the 2024 election for President were held today and the candidates were Joe Biden, the Democrat, and Donald Trump, the Republican, for whom would you vote?” Fifty percent chose Biden, while only 44 percent selected Trump. Six percent were undecided. In March, the poll had both Biden and Trump tied at 45 percent with nine percent undecided. In November, the poll had Biden leading by one point (46-45 percent) with 10 percent undecided.

Students of ancient history may recall that President Biden declared that Donald Trump and “MAGA Republicans” — you know who you are — “represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our Republic.” Biden extended the terms of his condemnation. “MAGA Republicans do not respect the Constitution,” he said. “They do not believe in the rule of law. They do not recognize the will of the people. They refuse to accept the results of a free election.” And that’s not all. He continued: “And they’re working right now, as I speak, in state after state to give power to decide elections in America to partisans and cronies, empowering election deniers

President Joe Biden rolled out a new nickname for MAGA Republicans on Labor Day during a lively speech where he also walked back comments suggesting Donald Trump's supporters believe in 'semi-fascism.' During his speech in Wisconsin on Monday, the president denounced the former president's followers as 'Trumpies' and claimed politicians on the 'extreme right' of the GOP are 'coming for your social security' and destroying worker pensions. At one point Biden was interrupted by a heckler—though he told Secret Service to 'let him go.' 'Everybody's entitled to be an idiot,' the president said to scattered laughter. Instead, new car owners would only be able to procure a new car loan if there are expensive lithium batteries propelling the wheels.

In President Joe Biden’s 2007 memoir, Promises to Keep: On Life and Politics, he wrote that the late Sen. Mike Mansfield (D-Mont.) gave him the best advice he ever received: “Joe, never attack another man’s motive, because you don’t know his motive.” Judging from Biden’s increasingly belligerent speeches, he has forgotten Mansfield’s eminently wise counsel. This was rendered abundantly clear during his Thursday speech at Independence Hall in Philadelphia. Standing before a backdrop that looked as if it had been designed by Leni Riefenstahl, he attacked the motives of half the electorate.
