Following President Biden’s address from Philadelphia last week, Mark Meckler, president of Convention of States Action, has advice for Republicans. He wants party leadership and candidates to buckle down on messaging about issues Americans care about. “There are people who might disagree with me, but I don’t really want to hear about Mar-a-Lago and the raid,” Meckler declared. “That’s not going to help Republicans. If you make this an election for or against Donald Trump, we’re not going to do that well.” Meckler agrees the raid was horrible and intends to speak out about it. However, he feels it should not be the central issue

Trump or no Trump, the 2022 and 2024 elections need to be about the mess that Brandon and his minions have created in America and around the world. Republicans, including President Trump, need to focus on that and not that 2020 was stolen.
Yeah, it was, but there's nothing -- except being viligant about future actions to steal elections -- that we can do about it.

“i don’t want to hear about the MaL raid ?” really just hunky dory ,Mike ? VSGPDJT isn’t the touchstone of the upcoming elections because you say so ? You glom upon conservative causes then warp them to your benefit? to stall actual citizen action , bog it down to where you can benefit the most , thusly preventing real citizen actions .You did same MO to the tea party .took ownership of something you wanted stopped ..mr false flag conservative.

"Why Republicans Shouldn't Take the Bait and Make the Midterms a Referendum on Trump" - exactly right!! and the less said about our President from now to November, the better the outcome and will have to make these candidates go out and campaign on their own merits rather than have our President do it for them

There is a mountain of issues for campaign ads. This election is the Republicans to lose.

You are right, #4. The Republicans just might lose the elections if they don't get out and campaign. This means you, Mitchie-babes. It's yours to lose.
They all need to stop hiding and get out and say something! Labor Day is past and it's time to go to work, which is something most DC-stationed Republicans seem to know nothing about—having done nothing for the last six years.

The Trump economy, theft of the last election and the Deep State's lawless persecution of PDT are absolutely key points in this coming election .That doesn't mean you don't put forth your plan and vision of the future - radically different than the socialist dystopia we are otherwise facing. It's NOT an either or.

We know the 2020 election was stolen. We cannot agree to disagree on that but I can agree that you have the right to disagree even though you are wrong. However the 2022 and 2024 elections will be about the future of this country and every voter must first demand that the election be conducted in a manner that assures the integrity of the election. Then we must also demand a change in the direction this country is going. Close the border. Track down and deport the illegals. Allow development and production of our rich fossil fuels. Enforce the constitution. These are the causes we need to pursue and President Trump is the one person who has most clearly demonstrated fealty to these causes.

You can make 2022 a referendum on our tyrannical government, its disastrous corrupt policies, and our President and the Democrats that created those policies or you can make it about an individual that currently does not even hold office and has not had a hand in creating any of those policies.
This isn't rocket science. It's more like an IQ test. Let's see how many people flunk it.

You haven't been watching enough approved, mainstream news #8. Repeat after me.
Biden just got more votes that Donald Trump.
The Capitol riot was incited by Donald Trump.
Capitol policemen were speared.
The economy is booming, thanks to Biden.
MAGA Republicans are domestic terrorists, especially the "ultra" ones.
There are 57 genders, and kindergartners should know this.
Obama is the smartest President we ever had, and a great orator.
Need I go on?

Trump has been out of office nearly two years and is not running for any office in the mid-term election. Democrats have nothing positive they can run on is why they are focusing on Trump to rally their base. They use focus groups who have determined that bringing up Trump will lead to a victory, thus, the time picked for the raid on Mar-A-Lago. They keep demonizing republicans by falsely claiming they are evil, not patriotic, against democracy and the rights of women rather than real concerns. Biden never speaks about the economy except to claim he has created more jobs and lowered gas prices. He is a mean angry old man with no valid accomplishment to highlight, only attacks to divide. He ignores the border. crime and difficult time average people are having with the economy. Republicans should keep pointing out the high crime rates, high cost of food and the open borders. Bring up real issues, respond to the false democrat accusations with facts and examples and not get sidetracked.

What evidence does this writer have that Republicans in general are making the 2022 elections about Trump. Nothing I've heard or seen except from writers trying to come up with something to write about indicates the 2022 election is about Trump. It's all about the Biteme and the demosluts ruining the country. Trump is just voicing the outrage that millions of Americans have concerning the federal government in general.

I have been trying to decide whether to continue to support the Convention of States cause. Mr Meckler just helped me make my decision. This Convention of States (COS)cause has been going on way too long. It is nothing more than another money scheme. If they get this cause to fruition, then they no longer have a reason to keep send out pleas for money. Kind of reminds me of the Mark of Dimes to end polio. There has never been a cure for anything since polio. When polio was cured there was no reason for the fund raisers. Same goes for COS.

The '22 elections have a feel like the '18 election...and that one was forfeited by Speaker Paul Ryan to lose the Republican majority. Why? One thought is that a Republican House could not impeach PDT. Why would the GOPe want a majority in '22? Seriously. The UNIPARTY never loses. If the Republicans win a majority the voters might expect them to do something...something the national political establishment doesn't want done.

Of course the focus should be on the mess the progressives have made. It's personal to most Americans and it should be crystal clear that dems are to blame and a voters choice of party makes a HUGE difference. If you don't like the way the Country is running, you must NOT vote for a dem. Period. Not in national OR state OR local office. Dems at all levels are contributing to the mess.
On the other hand, I don't like some "Conservative" figures trying to sideline Trump. They want to push him off the stage. That doesn't work for me because I have seen no other figure besides DeSantis that has the necessary backbone and correct focus to steer this country back onto the tracks. Yes, a bunch of politicians will SAY the right words but when things get tough, they are at the head of the compromise line. Sorry, compromise with the insane progressives is NOT possible. That means some ugly battles are coming and we need leaders willing to fight them. It's not just the issues. It's the ability to get the job done. There is no one in Washington to do that. There are almost none in the Country.
So let's get real about what is at stake and be careful about those who want to shove Trump aside to go back to politics as usual. Winning elections to go back to a Bush style government is NOT acceptable. We need to accept and follow the tougher, messier, but ultimately best way forward.

Sorry, but our people need to run not only on the assumption that Pervert Biden, Obama, and Soros stole 2020 before purposefully destroying America and killing Americans, and they'll do it again. "Politics" has become a nasty game; playing the future of our country otherwise will no longer work. My bet: By now Donald Trump knows it. MAGA

Stick with policy talk , what they are going to do to chance things and show why the current policies are bad. DO NOT DWELL ON TRUMP! This is not about the presidency it is about what Congress needs to be doing!
