FedEx Ground's delivery system is at risk of complete collapse as the local contractors it relies upon face rising costs and without any sign that their compensation will go up any time soon. The FedEx Ground network relies upon local delivery companies to make the package and parcel dropoffs on behalf of the $54 billion multinational conglomerate.(Snip)FedEx Ground works by utilizing the services of around 6,000 small businesses that are under contract with the company in order to make doorstep deliveries. Patton, who controls a fleet of 275 delivery trucks and has 225 employees across 10 states on his books is looking for a raise of 50-cent per stop

Can't even say unintended consequences. Seems like this was all planned and is playing out.

Looks like inflation is just getting started, contrary to the MSM stories claiming 'the worst of inflation is over!'.

UPS can still be counted on to deliver your packages to your neighbor.

Not a big surprise to me...I've dumped FedEX and ask those sending me parcels to not use them...twice in the past two months I've had problems...twice, when following the delivery on the web, 'they' stated a parcel was undeliverable because they couldn't find the house (it's only been here 30 years) or the occupant wasn't available...and I had been sitting at home waiting...their website says they leave a yellow notice if they can't deliver...NEVER got a notice...finally had to divert one package to a local Pharmacy drop box...they found that ok...strange thing is I occasionally see a FedEx truck on our road...

When energy costs suddenly double, you can't fly aircraft or drive trucks for the old rates.
FJB has destroyed wide swaths of our economy with the INTENTIONAL energy shortages and price increases.

I have had great service from FedEx until an incident the first week of August. All of a sudden the address I have been using for 20 years was not a "good address."
The thing was, it also happened with UPS and a freight carrier the same week. I the companies that run the maps are screwing this up on a regular basis, this will cause a lot more problems for all if us in the future.
One funny thing about it, one of the GPS guides sent them to the county jail.
The best thing about FedEx is being nonunion and the only real competition UPS has.

If FedEx ground fails expect UPS prices to soar without them trying to maintain competitive pricing.

I had a FraudEx driver steal my PS5 that was supposed to be delivered last week. Sony sent 2 boxes (PS5 & extra controller). The PS5 needed to be signed for, the controller didn't. So what happened? They handed my wife the controller box and had her sign for the PS5, and they kept the PS5. I wasnt home to accept the delivery, so she didnt know better to ask where box 2 was. Luckily Sony blocked that PS5's serial number and sent me a replacement. Google FedEx stealing PS5's and you'll see lots of articles/videos.

#15 they have to make up for their rising costs somehow, your play station seems like a good way since Sony covered it. Just kidding of course.

PS, I'm guessing Play Station. I have Fed Ex to thank for my free keyboard... Bought it online and they packaged it poorly. Arrived with both console ends destroyed. Fortunately my old one was the same type, so I scavenged the parts. They refunded purchase price and shipping. The shipping alone was $195.

Not the same but I am about to get out of the crafter business. Was trying to order cotton webbing. Shipping was more than the few yards of webbing I needed. And that's not the first order I cancelled because of exorbitant shipping costs.

Fedex uses thousands of independent delivery carriers. I don't think everybody in the network is going bankrupt, or that some parties speak for all of them.
