Joe Biden is making a move consistent with time-honored Democrat party electoral politics. When they can't win the contest of ideas — like socialism vs. capitalism, or tyranny vs. freedom — just buy the votes. Preferably, do it with other people's money — they wouldn't want to drain their campaign coffers, you know. President Asterisk has decided to provide $10K of student loan relief to all of the welchers who took out a loan for their liberal arts college diploma and don't want to pay it back.

For many of us, the path our governmental leaders have recently taken has been perplexing. Many of the policy decisions that perhaps sounded good (at least to some) have turned out to be not only clearly deleterious, but often catastrophic for our country. Without hyperbole, I mean catastrophic for our economy, our national defense capability, our national sovereignty, the safety and security of citizens, and our standing among other nations of the world.
We hear that inflation is "temporary," that "we are not in a recession," that the administration "feels our pain" at the gas pump

During a recent episode of MSNBC’s Katie Phang Show, Peter Strzok — disgraced former deputy director of the FBI’s counterintelligence division — weighed in on his former organization’s raid on Mar-a-Lago. Phang asked Strzok if he thought it was possible that Russia had “tried to infiltrate” former President Trump’s home to obtain classified data, considering the allegedly “top-secret” documents that were being stored there.
Strzok replied:

The immediate evidence of the era’s stupidity is the enhanced partisanship for Donald Trump voiced by conservatives, after the FBI’s raid on his estate at Mar-a-Lago. Apparently in reaction to the search, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, along with others, renewed his support for Trump’s candidacy in 2024.

President Biden’s plan to forgive student debt is clear: most students will get a $10,000 debt reduction, while lower-income students will be eligible to double the amount (an element that went unmentioned inmost reports). Biden’s August giveaway adds half a trillion dollars to the federal government’s debt deficit by some estimates. It’s easy to be generous with other people’s money.
Conservatives raise the issues of cost, value, inflation and economic impact. Liberals were happy with the move but disappointed by the amount forgiven.

Things that have become conventional wisdom are so often proven dead wrong that we are wise to put “no” in front of anything that is bruited endlessly by the media and advanced by Democratic leaders.

Vice President Kamala Harris lost another top staffer this week, as the exodus of her staffers continue.
Herbie Ziskend, a senior communications adviser, announced that he is leaving Harris’s side for the West Wing, where he will be the new White House deputy communications director.
Harris is teetering on the verge of having no staffers as many have walked away amid claims of turmoil and dysfunction.
Ziskend joined the Vice President at the beginning of President Joe Biden’s term, one of the few who have made it this long before finding a new role.
The raid on Mar-A-Lago was a pretextual search using the National Archive rules and mischaracterize classified document laws to justify an unlawful search warrant.
This raid is only a part of an ongoing criminal conspiracy (RICO) or silent coup by the Deep State to take down Trump, first before his election in 2016, to prevent his reelection in 2020, and now to torpedo his possible re-election in 2024. Trump is a direct threat to the coup's survival. The Deep State is protected by the DOJ and FBI that have gone full Stasi.

Joe Biden always knew that the forgiveness of $10,000 per borrower in student loan debt would be politically controversial. On the one hand, he’d receive the gratitude — and votes — of millions of younger voters for taking $10K in debt off their balance sheets. But on the other hand, there are those millions of voters who might resent these younger voters dodging their responsibility — a responsibility they willingly took on — all because they’re an important voting bloc for the Democratic Party.

On June 23 Breitbart News reported SCOTUS’s Bruen ruling, which struck down New York’s proper cause requirement for concealed carry.
New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) and the state’s Democrat-run legislature responded by enacting numerous new gun controls, including a list of “sensitive” areas where the carrying of guns would be prohibited.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre criticized five Republicans by name as representatives of the "extreme wing" of the party who are attacking democracy.

I’ve posted before that as far as I know the IRS considered canceled or forgiven debt as taxable income. Now I don’t know how this works in individual states, or if the IRS signed off on this particular debt. If they haven’t, maybe getting this financial relief might be such a great thing.
