Job One For The GOP: Kill The Inflation
Reduction Act

Joe Biden’s $700 billion Inflation Reduction Act passed both the Senate and House without a single vote from Republicans. It has zero redeeming value and is the most wretched bill out of Washington since Obamacare was approved in 2010. The GOP has to take it off the books. As we pointed out in this space weeks ago, the entire bill is a lie. It has nothing whatsoever to do with inflation and, in fact, won’t reduce it at all. The University of Pennsylvania’s Penn Wharton Budget Model says the IRA’s “impact on inflation is statistically indistinguishable from zero.” Bill Adams, chief economist for Comerica Bank, says it won’t

The bill spends another $700,000,000,000 so those experts who say its effect is negligible are all wrong, it is a huge amount of spending that does not produce anything people need so it contributes to a lot of additional inflation. In addition to all the bad green nude eel policies it contains, it places more dollars into circulation to devalue everyone's savings. At the same time, the Federal reserve is increasing interest rates to reduce the amount of currency in circulation, this bill is flooding more currency into the economy.

The GOP might have a veto-proof majority in the House, but I doubt they'll have the same in the Senate. At that point, Mitch McConnell (or whomever) could do some horse trading. The GOP could flatly refuse to vote for anything Biden wants until he strips most of this bill of the out-of-control spending.

I don't see how judicial could delay implementation. And I rather doubt the SCOTUS would be called upon to invalidate the bill unless there is a Constitutional aspect that somehow requires review. So, yes, pubbies, it's up to you. But firstly, folks, it is up to us to get pubbie control of both houses of congress in November. But just a minor problem - biden the cheater will still be president. You really think he will sign a bill to repeal the inflation reduction act?

Fantasy. Republicans have no chance to “get veto-proof majorities in both chambers.” Even with the power, the all talk Republican caucus won’t repeal anything.

Newt Gingrich had the answer to this when he and the Republican majority got control of the House in 1994. Just stop approving spending requests on anything to do with Green energy. This time a population ravaged by inflation will be with them.

The Republicans don’t need veto-proof majorities. This monstrous bill was passed through reconciliation and through reconciliation it, or parts of it, can be killed. Start with removing the billions given to the IRS to hire tax auditors. Simple majority in Congress will get that done. Biden, of course won’t sign the bill so Republicans refuse to fund anything. Let Biden convince the country that we need 80,000 new IRS agents. Have him “die on that hill.” Reagan and the House, on separate occasions, got what they wanted by shutting down the government. Do McConnell and McCarthy love this country enough to do the same?

And get the thousands of new armed IRS agents to audit the highest paid employee of the government: Tony- 'I wouldn't lie'- Fauci. Fauci earns a federal salary of $480,654 per year. However, by 2024, Fauci will likely be making $530,000 in salary – an increase of nearly $200,000 since 2014. Therefore, we estimate that Fauci’s first year pension payout will exceed $414,000 openthebooks.com

The Democrats will never get their so-called Inflation Reduction Act implemented before the November election. If the wimpy Republicans luck out and take control of the House of Representatives, after that election it will be up to them to appropriate the money to implement that Democrat law for who knows how long.

In a major reversal, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin, D-W.V., struck a deal with Senator Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., to enact a major climate, entitlement, and tax bill. This legislation has been praised by President Biden, Al Gore, and other proponents of highly progressive policies. Dubbed the “Inflation Reduction Act of 2022,” Senate Democrats voted to pass this bill only 11 days after releasing its 725 pages of text. House Democrats followed suit five days later. Democrats pushed this bill so rapidly through Congress that the Congressional Budget Office estimates it won’t be able to “provide a complete cost estimate for the legislation” until more than a week after Congress passed it.

While the big media and some economists might disagree, a majority of Americans believe that the U.S. economy is now in a recession, the latest I&I/TIPP data show. And voters, when asked what caused it, are clear in their response: Government. Recently, a number of government economists, including Fed chief Jerome Powell and Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, along with non-economist President Joe Biden, have suggested that, despite two quarterly declines in U.S. GDP, the country is not in a recession. “What is a recession? While some maintain that two consecutive quarters of falling real GDP constitute a recession, that is neither the official definition nor the way

No, that headline’s not a joke. The Federal Bureau of Investigation, once so popular it had its own TV show solely dedicated to its heroics, has become a hyper-politicized, jackbooted bully that no longer serves the American people or the U.S. Constitution, which its employees are sworn to protect. It has become, instead, the intelligence arm and domestic enforcer of the far left. Did we say defund? Yes. But we don’t mean simply to cut its funding, as leftists have disastrously proposed for police forces across the country. We mean tear down the entire rotting edifice of the FBI and replacing it with a new agency that respects the Constitution

The Democrats’ “Inflation Reduction Act,” approved Sunday by the Senate, is primarily known as a climate and health care bill. It also includes $80 billion for the IRS, more than six times its current annual budget, increasing the agency’s enforcement funding by 69% through fiscal 2031, and adding as many as 87,000 new employees to its overall workforce. This is not what the country needs Our friends at the Committee to Unleash Prosperity pointed out last week that the Democrats are prioritizing IRS enforcement and bureaucracy over securing the leaky border and addressing the shortage of military recruits.

Even before he became president, the now-79-year-old Joe Biden faced serious and persistent questions about his mental health. Among average Americans, those questions have become a major issue, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows. The I&I/TIPP Poll, conducted online from Aug. 2-4 among 1,335 adults nationwide, shows that a 59% majority now say they are “very concerned” (36%) or “somewhat concerned” about Biden’s mental health. That compares with just 39% saying they are “not very concerned” (18%) or “not at all concerned” (21%). Only 2% of respondents said they were “not sure.” The poll has a margin of error of +/-2.8 percentage points.

In the state-level struggle for the future of America, there can be little doubt: The Red State model of free markets, low taxes, and minimal regulation is beating the daylights out of the Blue State model of top-down control, high taxes, and pervasive nanny-state regulation. But will it last? The Wall Street Journal, deploying data from the center-left Brookings Institution, last month reported that Blue states, those governed by Democrats, were still 1.3 million jobs short of where they were before the COVID-19 pandemic. Red states, those led by Republicans, had managed to add 350,000 jobs. A big reason
