The Democrats’ “Inflation Reduction Act,” approved Sunday by the Senate, is primarily known as a climate and health care bill. It also includes $80 billion for the IRS, more than six times its current annual budget, increasing the agency’s enforcement funding by 69% through fiscal 2031, and adding as many as 87,000 new employees to its overall workforce. This is not what the country needs Our friends at the Committee to Unleash Prosperity pointed out last week that the Democrats are prioritizing IRS enforcement and bureaucracy over securing the leaky border and addressing the shortage of military recruits.

Under Biden the IRS will be bigger than the US Marine Corps. These sharks will target Republican voters while the Bidens and Al Sharptons of America will go scot free. It’s time to abolish the FBI and IRS.

If they follow previous hiring practices, the great majority will be affirmative action hires and incompetent. They will be tasked with "going after" conservatives, no doubt. But, because of their incompetence, they are probably going to be far less effective than they might be if they hired competent thugs.

This about putting the weaponization of the IRS on steroids. I remember Lois Lerner - she demanded a list of their contributors and basically put the Tea Party out of business by denying them 501 C3 status. Just think what they will be able to do with 87,000 new auditors!!!! You make a contribution to a Republican or Conservative PAC - you go on the audit list. If you are a corporation who contributes to the Republican Party - you go on the audit list. If you are the NRA - you get audited every year until you are broke. If you attend a CPAC conference and they will seek you out for an audit. If you are a conservative publication - audit every year until you're broke. If you are Hillsdale or Grove City College or you are a student there - audit. The Founding Fathers must be spinning in their graves - their biggest fear was government tyranny.

This is the best example of what is wrong with the media and I am most definitely including the conservative media. This explosion of the IRS agency, something like $87 Billion, has already passed and is now absolutely going to happen. Until Trump or DeSantis is elected in 2024, there is nothing the despicable Republicants in Congress can or will do to stop it. Notice there was almost nothing in the news about this before it passed and now is law. Crickets. I did see one Fox broadcast about it, but, something of this magnitude should have been the number one topic for days and days until Manchin and Sinema would not have dared to support it. Even now there is hardly an outcry in the conservative media. Now we will have untold IRS audits of every Conservative small business and likely every Conservative commentator; and that means us. This is truly a big freaking deal. FJB.

By the time the federal government can hire, train, and make operational 87,000 agents of any sort, the democrats will be the minority party in Congress for two years. IRS funding is on an annual basis but if those numbers are retained by the majority - which is doubtful - watch the democrats sweat the audits they know will be coming. Precedents don't always favor those who establish them.

My math is usually pretty good. I calculate that we could post 87,000 new IRS agents on the border with Mexico 120 feet apart, or if they were divided into 3 shifts, 360 feet apart

Try, if you can, to imagine the reaction if the Justice Department had, in President Donald Trump’s second year in office, orchestrated a raid of Hillary Clinton’s Chappaqua, N.Y., home, rummaging through rooms and cracking the Clintons’ safe looking for government documents she hadn’t turned over when she left the State Department. You can bet, at the very least, that newspapers wouldn’t be carrying run-of-the-mill headlines such as “F.B.I. Even before he became president, the now-79-year-old Joe Biden faced serious and persistent questions about his mental health. Among average Americans, those questions have become a major issue, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows. The I&I/TIPP Poll, conducted online from Aug. 2-4 among 1,335 adults nationwide, shows that a 59% majority now say they are “very concerned” (36%) or “somewhat concerned” about Biden’s mental health. That compares with just 39% saying they are “not very concerned” (18%) or “not at all concerned” (21%). Only 2% of respondents said they were “not sure.” The poll has a margin of error of +/-2.8 percentage points.

As recently as two weeks ago, the big story of the day was the coming surge of a new, highly infectious COVID variant, called BA.5. The Biden administration warned about it. Los Angeles county considered renewing its indoor mask mandate. The head of the World Health Organization said that “new waves of the virus demonstrate again that the Covid-19 [pandemic] is nowhere near over.” [snip] Well, the data from the Centers for Disease Control show that the number of new infections has remained pretty flat since late May and is now trending downward. In, fact, the rate of new infections appears to have topped out right when

In the state-level struggle for the future of America, there can be little doubt: The Red State model of free markets, low taxes, and minimal regulation is beating the daylights out of the Blue State model of top-down control, high taxes, and pervasive nanny-state regulation. But will it last? The Wall Street Journal, deploying data from the center-left Brookings Institution, last month reported that Blue states, those governed by Democrats, were still 1.3 million jobs short of where they were before the COVID-19 pandemic. Red states, those led by Republicans, had managed to add 350,000 jobs. A big reason

Just last week, congressional Democrats were urging President Joe Biden to declare a climate emergency because some Americans were enduring a patch of hot weather. Yet again, pieces of a puzzle a pre-schooler could put together in a couple of minutes are missing. On CNN Sunday, Krugman said that the big problem with the economy today is that media are unfairly writing negative stories about it. “I think that what’s happening now is that there’s been a kind of a negativity bias in coverage,” he said. Among President Joe Biden’s main promises upon entering office in early 2021 was that he would unite Americans and end the divisiveness that plagues our politics. His first inaugural address, which he titled “America United,” was largely dedicated to the idea. But as the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows, despite the laudable intent, it’s yet another failure on Biden’s part, perhaps the most serious one of all. Revisiting his inaugural speech, Biden had stirring words about the idea of bringing Americans back together, even amid profound political disagreements: “We can join forces, stop the shouting and lower the temperature. For without unity there is no peace,

If Democratic lawmakers had to comply with federal truth-in-advertising laws, they’d all be up on charges for the blatantly false name given to the “Inflation Reduction Act.” President Joe Biden claimed last week that “this bill will, in fact, reduce inflationary pressure on the economy.” In fact, it won’t. It was never meant to. The University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School examined the bill. Here’s what it concluded. “The impact on inflation is statistically indistinguishable from zero.” Worse, “the Act would very slightly increase inflation until 2024 and decrease inflation thereafter.” In other words,
