Climate Emergency? What A Crock, Part 2

Original Article

Just last week, congressional Democrats were urging President Joe Biden to declare a climate emergency because some Americans were enduring a patch of hot weather. Though more than a bit meshuga, they couldn’t match the fever of Bill Weir. The CNN chief climate correspondent said, also last week, that “the fate of life on earth is at stake” because Washington isn’t doing more to cool the planet. Yet again, pieces of a puzzle a pre-schooler could put together in a couple of minutes are missing. One of those lost pieces is the surface temperature record that the climate alarmists tell us is evidence

The only climate emergency we are facing has to do with Chinese Nukes raising the surface temperature of America to 10,000 degrees F or so. Now that’s what I call climate change!

How come the super wealthy are still buying up water front estates? How come so many of them have private jets and garages that hold several cars? How come they have million dollar yachts? Obama owns houses in DC, Chicago and Hawaii. His daughters live in CA. How do they get together to visit? Walk the talk or shut up.

The global warming activists still haven't answered for climategate, the 2009 computer data released from East Anglia Univ in the UK which revealed the worldwide conspiracy by the "climate researchers" to promote the global warming hoax. And for this reason every year automobiles are getting more expensive and more complicated to try to squeeze another few tenths of a mpg and now to even reduce nitrogen oxide emissions. They are on the verge of causing famine by not only restricting fuel but also fertilizer needed to grow the crops to feed the world's population.

While I understand it's hot over in the UK (because it's summer...?!), this has been a relatively mild summer here in the middle of NC. This morning is in the low 70s with no real humidity. The forecast for the next week is low 80s to 90s - entirely normal heading into late summer. The "weather guessers" will have to consult their weather rock for their reports (if the rock is wet it's raining, if it's dry and hot it's sunny, etc.) greyseal

The climate change activists today are like the shamans in ancient societies. And they are controlling modern societies with pretty much the same kind of mumbo-jumbo with exactly the same kind of threats of catastrophic consequences if we don't comply with their instructions on what we must do.

Anthony Watts' research indicates the bad placement of temperature stations is done to create a warming trend where there is none. If stations were not on black asphalt, next to exhausts from air conditioners, by airport runways, and other heat-producing machinery we would see the truth: no emergency at all.

If measuring stations in advanced North America are corrupted. Just imagine what horrors are being hidden under Third World conditions. The probes are to be housed in pristine clean white boxes to get accurate readings. In Africa, Latin America and Asia those conditions are universally not met. Moreover, the error is always on the side of higher readings. Something which the warmists find convenient. The whole thing is a mess.

Of course, Lake Mead is a man made lake an now that NV is getting lots of rain, you'd think they would be happy. Or it's really hot in the Pacific Northwest - oaky. it happens now and then. Or the recent heatwave in Europe - I guess it's over as no news on it of late. Did as many elderly French citizens die in their homes as the last time (2003)?

A few years ago, we were all going to freeze to death in a new ice age, but now it's hot so we want to cool the planet down. I'm so confused. Here in my little corner of south Louisiana, we went thru our very hot three or four weeks of June/July and are now in our very warm August. Hard to believe that the darned climate has changed again and before you know it, it will change to cold weather (we like to call it winter) again, like it has for all of my 79 years!

As recently as two weeks ago, the big story of the day was the coming surge of a new, highly infectious COVID variant, called BA.5. The Biden administration warned about it. Los Angeles county considered renewing its indoor mask mandate. The head of the World Health Organization said that “new waves of the virus demonstrate again that the Covid-19 [pandemic] is nowhere near over.” [snip] Well, the data from the Centers for Disease Control show that the number of new infections has remained pretty flat since late May and is now trending downward. In, fact, the rate of new infections appears to have topped out right when

In the state-level struggle for the future of America, there can be little doubt: The Red State model of free markets, low taxes, and minimal regulation is beating the daylights out of the Blue State model of top-down control, high taxes, and pervasive nanny-state regulation. But will it last? The Wall Street Journal, deploying data from the center-left Brookings Institution, last month reported that Blue states, those governed by Democrats, were still 1.3 million jobs short of where they were before the COVID-19 pandemic. Red states, those led by Republicans, had managed to add 350,000 jobs. A big reason

After Richard Nixon’s landslide victory over leftist George McGovern in 1972, New York Times movie critic Pauline Kael supposedly said: “How could Nixon have won? On CNN Sunday, Krugman said that the big problem with the economy today is that media are unfairly writing negative stories about it. “I think that what’s happening now is that there’s been a kind of a negativity bias in coverage,” he said. Among President Joe Biden’s main promises upon entering office in early 2021 was that he would unite Americans and end the divisiveness that plagues our politics. His first inaugural address, which he titled “America United,” was largely dedicated to the idea. But as the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows, despite the laudable intent, it’s yet another failure on Biden’s part, perhaps the most serious one of all. Revisiting his inaugural speech, Biden had stirring words about the idea of bringing Americans back together, even amid profound political disagreements: “We can join forces, stop the shouting and lower the temperature. For without unity there is no peace,

If Democratic lawmakers had to comply with federal truth-in-advertising laws, they’d all be up on charges for the blatantly false name given to the “Inflation Reduction Act.” President Joe Biden claimed last week that “this bill will, in fact, reduce inflationary pressure on the economy.” In fact, it won’t. It was never meant to. The University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School examined the bill. Here’s what it concluded. “The impact on inflation is statistically indistinguishable from zero.” Worse, “the Act would very slightly increase inflation until 2024 and decrease inflation thereafter.” In other words,

Health care costs in the U.S. are too high. We all agree on that. But it’s important to define the word “high” and put costs in proper context. [snip] Health spending is always measured as a percentage of GDP to show how the U.S. spends “too much” on health care. But the following graph puts health care spending in better context: This graph, developed by blogger Random Critical Analysis, explains U.S. health care spending better than any other. It shows spending is appropriate when compared to household disposable income (HDI). Health care spending in the U.S. as a percentage of HDI is reasonable, as the shaded area shows.

Russia's penal colonies are descendants of the notorious Soviet-era gulags where prisoners have been subjected to harsh treatment and poor conditions. Prisoners in the system have been beaten by other inmates, endured torture and forced to watch Russian propaganda for hours every day in what's known as "awareness raising."
