As we’ve reported, Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) is in deep trouble in her primary on August 16. She’s 30 points behind her Trump-endorsed challenger, Harriet Hageman. She’s about to get wiped out by historic proportions, by all accounts. But she does have some Democrats coming out trying to cover her action. She just got an endorsement that’s sure to put her over the top now — disgraced former Democratic senator Al Franken. [Tweet] I’ll leave the door open to the possibility that this is an attempt at comedy since that’s what Franken is allegedly doing now, since the groping scandal and leaving the Senate.

The documents, which appear to be the warrant and the list of items taken from Trump’s home when FBI agents knew he wouldn’t be home, seem to confirm the worst fears of attorneys who thought the raid was a fishing expedition to find something on Trump. A reasonable question. Monday’s FBI raid at Trump’s Mar A Lago was very strange. Unlike previous FBI hits on people linked to Trump, such as Roger Stone, Paul Manafort, Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon, the establishment media was kept in the dark. They did not get a heads up. How did we learn about the raid? Trump announced it via his social media page around 1830 hours edt on Monday. Very strange.
Think about this. Not a single soul in the Trump universe who knew about the raid at Mar A Lago breathed a word about this unholy assault. Not one. And, surprisingly, the FBI kept its mouth shut.
If Donald Trump was going to run again, we assumed that the media would once again be the former president's largest pool of support, unwittingly, of course, with the nonstop negative coverage that would have only pushed more voters into his corner. Matt Taibbi noted that they're the "kingmakers of suck," arrogant, and more concerned with expounding on their moral superiority than covering the elections properly. Post-Russian collusion hoax, no one believes them, as evidenced by the appalling trust numbers the American public has given this industry over the past five or so years. That all ended last night.
Judge Bruce Reinhart, the federal magistrate who reportedly approved the FBI's search warrant to raid Mar-A-Lago, had already been noted for his previous "work" to help employees of Jeffrey Epstein secure immunity deals from the government...after leaving his post in the U.S. attorney's office where he was supposedly helping the government prosecute Epstein and his employees for alleged sex trafficking. What a guy.
But now another nugget of information has illuminated Reinhart's opinions about President Trump.

The FBI’s raid on the former president’s home was not over boxes of documents. If you think that, please, get some crack cocaine, White Claws, and wallow in total ignorance in an observation tank while high as a kite. This line about the documents is politburo stuff, except we’re not the Soviet Union. The FBI was there to find Russian collusion material they know doesn’t exist.

On Monday evening, the FBI took the unprecedented step of raiding the home of former President Donald Trump. What were they looking for? Astonishingly, what is being leaked to the media is that they were after documents that possibly violated the Presidential Records Act.
Far from their promises of proving some grand conspiracy involving January 6th, it appears the Democrats, using the power of the nation’s federal law enforcement apparatus, are trying to take Donald Trump out with selective enforcement of provisions that are normally handled in a civil, not criminal manner. Where have we seen that before?
None of this is a coincidence, and none of it is justified.

Donald Trump on Monday claimed his passports were 'stolen' in the FBI raid at Mar-a-Lago last week, which would mean he could not leave the country.
He called it an 'assault on a political opponent.'

The FBI is now claiming in the wake of their raid on the Mar-a-Lago home of President Donald Trump that there has been an increase in “violent threats” against law enforcement, including the threat to “place a so-called Dirty Bomb in front of FBI headquarters” with “general calls” for “civil war” and “armed rebellion.” Several of the threats are specific, according to the bulletin, which states that “the FBI and DHS have identified multiple articulated threats and calls for the targeted killing of judicial law enforcement and government officials associated with the Palm Beach search, including the Federal judge who approved the Palm Beach search warrant.” That’s concerning.
But so was the FBI
Everyone should be deeply troubled by the recent report that the Army is on pace to miss its recruiting goal by dozens of thousands of troops and by the report that followed a few days later, alleging that the Border Patrol is running short of agents in Arizona and Texas. The border is so porous these days that even mayors of sanctuary cities are starting to complain about illegal immigration.
So, what is Congress doing about these crises? They are going to spend tens of billions of dollars to increase the number of ... IRS employees. The plan calls for spending some $80 billion to hire some 80,000 new agents
