An under-9's football game turned to tragedy after the coach of one of the teams was shot dead following an argument between parents at the end of the match in Lancaster, Texas. The brother of former NFL star Aqib Talib, Yaqub Talib, 39, is now wanted on charges of murder after he was allegedly involved in the fatal shooting at the children's football game on Saturday evening. Friends and family identified the official who was killed as Mike Hickmon, who coached the Dragon Elite Academy team. It's believed Hickmon was shot three times in front of his nine-year-old son who was on one of the teams.

The articles are missing information on prior violent incidents involving the Talib brothers; battery, resisting arrest, assaulting a cab driver, aggravated assault, illegally carrying firearms, shooting incidents dating from 2006, 2009, 2011. Somehow they avoided prison and felony records. Evidently, sportsball players are given multiple second chances.

It is a shame that violence follows the illiterate. Public schools and the egg donors (the sperm donors don’t stick around) destroy any sense of civilization in their youth. All that is taught is emotional, physical response to stress, and Lord knows they are always stressed. Emotionally stunted people are always stressed with hair-triggers that have outcomes like this.

They don't look like the normal "Talib" types....more like the De'Vontay or Antoinne or Dontrell types. There is an aspect of kids' games that have always been a turn off, and this is an extreme example. I've coached sports in little league and YMCA basketball...and there is an element of adults who are deeply invested in their kid and anticipating a zillion-dollar pro future. They spend tons of money on "elite" training and teams, traveling here there and even internationally. And they are ALL prima donnas. I've seen the altercations, although none progressed to armed assault or murder. I've seen the cross field woofing that goes well beyond a little gamesmanship. I've seen the worst of parents (mothers are often worse than fathers). I've seen umpires and referees stalked and threatened by these goons. Over what? A kid's game with no consequences either way. This is all the product of having to organize games for kids. There are no pick-up games at the local field anymore. It has become the bailiwick of overzealous parents overestimating the skills of their kid and overinvested in play. Shameful.

People learn how to behave from their families as they are growing up. When 70% of the black kids grow up with only one dysfunctional parent and several dysfunctional siblings (each from different fathers), this is what we get. Kids, and later adults, do what they learn at home. Ask any teacher - good students come from good families, and poor, disruptive students come from dysfunctional families.

Thank you Citoyen (#20). Before I read the original article and saw your comment, I was wondering.... This name Talib.... any relation to that nasty female that's in the US Congress? But no, it's just plain ol' American Enwords. Where I grew up, I think I was very lucky....I was one of the last group that grew up on a farm, just playing in the fields and woods. The farms and woods were being obliterated, paved over and made into housing developments, office parks and shopping malls. Many of the kids just younger than me were in organized 'sports' where some of the parents were trying to 'live through their kids', and making things unpleasant for everyone else. Apparently today it is even worse, with some parents trying to drive their kids into multimillion-dollar careers in the 'Sports' section of the Entertainment business.

Some suggestions for Joe Biden’s ‘victory’ lap 0 replies

Finally, it’s party time at the White House! Biden’s spin doctors are getting all his favorite publications in a lather about a “Victory Tour” to celebrate his “historic” achievements and raise his historically low approval ratings in the run up to the midterms. There’s passage of the Inflation Reduction Act, which doesn’t reduce inflation. Gas prices are down to very expensive from ludicrously expensive. And Biden is COVID free … maybe. As this shindig sets off, we have some suggestions for Biden’s victory lap:
